Not working after Wordpress 3.7 update.
Had to remove them. Love the plugin. Will turn it back one after next update.

Is it possible to make the images flush left? Everything in my sidebar is aligned to the left but the images showing up from my recent posts (using this plugin) look centered. I’m assuming it’s some CSS but I can’t figure it out.

Pre-sales question. Have you tested this by any chance with Visual Composer? Also, does this generate shortcodes, or just widgets? Cause that would be absolutely ideal.
Hi, The plugin will create a widget, no shortcodes sorry. It has not been tested with visual composer. But if you can insert sidebars with it, then you can drop the widget in this sidebar.

Hm, that is a shame. I’ll say one thing though, if you enable it to generate php / shortcode, you’re going to have a killer plugin. Layout builders of the cell / block / grind type are winning from those based on what you could call the sidebar approach – so to speak. But yeah, with ways to include as mentioned, extremely attractive approach.

This is a widget and it needs to be dropped in a sidebar so it can generate a list. It can’t just generate the shortcode.
A sidebar can be inserted anywhere basically. Please read this – http://otwthemes.com/how-to-create-widget-areas-no-coding-required/. After you have a sidebar wherever you want the list just drop the widget in the sidebar. That’s it

How can i show the category in the article next to the date?
I am sorry but the plugin does not have such option currently.
I am trying to change the font size and color for the # of Comments. I am able to do this with the Date, but even though I have the correct entry in splw.css for the comments line, something seems to be overriding my changes. It even doesn’t work with !important. What am I missing here?

Hi Tom,
Since this is a widget the only way is to place it in a sidebar. What you can do in page templates is place a sidebar. Then drop the widget in that sidebar.

The Sidebar Widget Manager deals with sidebars and widgets, as well as custom responsive layouts.
The Smart Post Lists can build lists of your posts or custom post types.
You can check out the descriptions and the demo sites for both plugins.

Check on the features list here
The gap can be added by adding a delimiter which is an option. The size of the thumbnails is also an option that can be set up from WordPress settings and additionally from the widget settings. You can choose from 3 different sizes and then additionally change the width and height for a selected size.

And have another question: On your demo and on my widget it displays the word “Date:” before displaying the actual date.

Unfortunately the Smart Post Lists does not have the responsive feature. It will require a lot of work to rewrite the whole front and back and of the plugin. We have discussed it but I can really say a release date at this point.

Hi Ken,
You need to use some custom CSS to do that. The class for the title is .widgetTitle.
On top of that you can create a custom widget class for each of your widgets to style widgets individually by using the custom widget class field in your widgets.

There is now setting for that in the plugin. You need to write some custom CSS and add it to your theme. This is the CSS class that you need to use.

You need to place a widget area(sidebar) in a page, then drop the Smart Post Lists Widget in that widget area. From the settings you choose the column layout. Here is some info on how to create and place widget area in a page.

Hello, lovely plugin, however I have one small issue. Whenever I set a new option, it looses the category selection. On top of that, the taxonomies list, only shows up briefly when I switch between post types/pages, then upon hitting save, it disappears. And in order to choose a category again, I have to select a different post type, then back to the one I want for the list to pop up again. Tried with all other plugins disabled and still had the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
