Hello. I used your plugin for years, successfuly. Although, something very weird just happened. We host our sites with Sitegroumd. Siteground reported a malware within one of our sites and it proves that malware comes from within your plugin. The malwared persisted even after installing the most recent version of your plugin. We even found a suspicious user within our wordpress dashboard. Malware only disappeared after fully deleting the plugin. I would have wrote this in a private ticket of via e-mail, but as our support expired during the years, I will write here.
My questions: - Any other users reported this? - Do you know how to fix it? - Can we keep talking via e-mail, in order to fix this?
We would love to still use your plug-in, if safe.

There is no malware in our plugin. Its false positive reported by server.
I can now confirm that we managed to put things in order and, even if innitially reported as such, after a deeper scanning we could not find any specific proof that the plugin or its files caused this. So, everything is safe and the plugin was reliable through the years.
A notice on my WP site says there is a version 13.87 to be updated to, but the update is not automatic, so I downloaded the file again, but that only is for version 13.71. Where would I get that latest version?

with our plugin we suggest using a blob or live streaming (hls or mpeg dash) for protection.

It seems that the new update has fixed the Hostinger “false positive” issue. Now, I’m experiencing the issue with video resizing when exiting fullscreen mode. When I maximize the video to fullscreen, it works correctly. However, when I return to normal view, the player doesn’t resize correctly, maintaining the HD dimensions and overflowing its container.
I’ve tested it on several browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and different WordPress themes (tested with GeneratePress and others). I deactivated all plugins except Modern Video Player; the problem persists.
Please verify that everything is working correctly with the plugin. I’m about to launch my website project, and this is a critical feature for a video player. Thank you very much.

Please stop posting here. Now you gave some issue with Hostinger , now there but its solved. That are problems on your website. The same with resizing. You can test test our officail plugin demo, not your website.

Hello… The false positive issue was resolved with the July 13, 2025 plugin update. The responsive feature issue arose with that update, so I hope it can be resolved. Please provide the link to the updated official demo for review. Also, please tell me what this space is for where I’ve been posting the issues I’ve been experiencing. I’ll stop posting here and do as you suggested. I purchased the plugin a while ago, but the project is barely finished, and we hadn’t fully tested it yet. My apologies for not knowing the proper communication channels.

Hello… I hadn’t updated since version 7… Today I updated to version 12.31, and the custom banners or thumbnails are broken and unavailable. I use videos uploaded from YouTube as the sole video in the playlist. On the page where the videos are hosted, the Youtube thumbnail is visible, but it’s cropped at the top and bottom in a very ugly way.
On mobile, I only see the image, the YouTube thumbnail, also cropped, but there’s no button to play the video, just the thumbnail.
I’ve managed to fix the posters, but the player on mobile doesn’t have the large, central play button. It’s a configuration issue, but I can’t figure out what’s going on. Could you tell me where in the guide I can find how to fix this, or if it’s a plugin issue?
Problem solved. This is a very comprehensive plugin, with a huge number of settings. I updated it by deleting my preferences, and that’s where the problem lay. I had to read the entire documentation.

My Hostinger hosting security system detects the “new.js” file as malware and cleans it. That’s why videos stop playing on my website. I reinstalled the MVP plugin, but Hostinger scans and cleans it again. Could you do something on your end with “new.js” or what do you suggest? Thank you very much for your attention.
This is what Hostinger told me: Currently, it’s not possible to add specific files to a “whitelist” in Hostinger’s security system. If the system detects a file as potentially dangerous, it will automatically delete it to protect your website and other users on the server.
If you believe the file is safe and necessary for the operation of your WordPress, I recommend reviewing the code or plugin that generates it and making sure it doesn’t contain elements that could be detected as threats. If you need to restore the file, you can re-upload it manually, but keep in mind that if it continues to be detected as dangerous, it will be deleted again.

Transfering license is only possible if you just want to change your domain name, while project stays the same.

We can assure you our plugin doesn’t contain any virus or similar.
Sometimes can give false positives on plugin scripts or simply parts of the code (like some PHP code), whereas there is nothing wrong with the plugin itself.

Possible solution is to exclude our plugin from your server security.
You can always check the plugin with real antivirus program like Malwarebytes so you can ensure for yourself.

You can read a folder of videos located in Wordpress uploads directory and create playlist from this.
Option to read folder on some other location will be added in the future.

Also a question you might be able to answer also…..I need playlists for a Digital Signage Screen and so want self hosted. The page refreshes each hour…...same videos on a playlist…..but would each refresh use bandwidth on a hosting plan?

Hi, is there a way to open up the internationalization for the players as well? You have mistakes for the Romanian language, for instance we never say “Trăi” if a video is live, we just say live. There is no way for me to override this unless I override your code… Please make it available through Loco Translate or WPML.
