Is it possible to set a minimum number of people to create a reservation but have no minimum for adding more customers to the group?

For example, 4 people are required to create the reservation, but reservations for 2 and 1 person can be added later.

You can use the Group Bookings Add-on to add a maximum capacity of 4. Then, if customers would like to add more, you can give them this option by using the Bookly Service Extras Add-on  https://support.booking-wp-plugin.com/hc/en-us/articles/207647799-Extra-Products-Treatments-Service-Extras-Add-on-. It allows you to offer extra services, goods, or options to enhance your services. For example, you can use it to provide more specialized or higher-end tools to elevate the quality of your service.

However, there’s one thing to keep in mind – currently, the add-on doesn’t support tracking the total number of extras booked within a specific period.

That’s not it.

The goal is to avoid serving groups that are too small. The aim is to accept bookings from small groups, fewer than 4 people, by combining them with a larger group that has already booked.

To make the first booking for a time slot, I want to set a minimum number of people. For example, 4 people.

But once a client has made a booking for a specific time slot meeting the minimum of 4 people, I want other clients in smaller groups, such as 1 or 2 people, to be able to add themselves to that time slot, which already meets the minimum requirement of 4 people per group.

Is there any way to achieve this?

Why on earth don’t you specify in the documentation that we need to use the “show_number_of_persons” field? For all other fields, we have to use “hide”. Who decided to do it the other way around in this plugin, and why isn’t it clearly documented?

If you are using modern booking forms, you can go to Bookly > Appearance > Time tab and click on the ‘Number of persons’ field and a setting will show on the side of the screen with options to show or hide it.

If you are using the Step-by-step form, you can click on the shortcode and choose the fields you want to show or hide.

If I’m using a different editor, like Elementor’s page builder, I can’t click on the shortcode and select any field. It seems the documentation is intentionally hiding this field.

When the booking form is inserted using page builders such as Elementor, the shortcode is usually added through a Shortcode widget or text block, which means the visual shortcode editor (where fields can be toggled on or off) is not available. In this case, any shortcode parameters — including show_number_of_persons=”1” — need to be added manually to the shortcode.

This is not related to the field being intentionally hidden. The difference occurs because the visual shortcode builder is only available in the standard WordPress editor, while page builders typically treat the shortcode as plain text.

We understand that this can be confusing, especially when switching between editors, and we appreciate you pointing it out. Your feedback regarding the documentation will be forwarded to the team so they can consider clarifying this behavior.

I recently purchased the Support for Bookly Group Booking (Add-on). However, when attempting to install it, I received a prompt stating that my Bookly Pro version is outdated.

Hello. Can i have a option the admin to can create appointment for a client that will be automatical repeated e.g. every monday 12:00 time on schedule ?

This add-on allows your clients to easily book a series of recurring appointments for the same service all in one go. You can customize the repetition interval, set the last date, or specify the number of recurrences, and the system will automatically reserve a series of time slots for you.

However, it’s important to note that, as of now, there isn’t support for setting a limitation on the number of sessions (for example, allowing only up to 5 sessions) from the back end.

I just wanted to clarify how Bookly works with scheduling. It’s all set up on a weekly basis, so when you create schedules for your staff members, those schedules remain consistent week after week. The time slots available in the booking form are based on these schedules, and how the hours are divided and displayed in the form depends on the time slot length you’ve chosen.

Each staff member has their own unique schedule. When a customer books a specific time slot for a service with a staff member, that staff member becomes unavailable for that time slot for any other services. For example, if Superstar is booked for Service Awesome on Tuesday at 10 am, she won’t be available for any other services at that time. Likewise, other customers won’t be able to book service Awesome at that specific time, unless another staff member is assigned to provide that service.

Hi there! I have a use case where we are using Bookly with the Group add-on to allow people to essentially buy tickets for an hourly event that is limited to 40 total seats.

However, we want to limit the number of tickets someone can buy to 4 per booking/reservation. So up to 10 groups of 4, or any combo of persons per order between 1 and 4, until the hourly slot fills up with 40 people.

I’m using CSS to hide options in the Number of Persons select element greater than the number 4 (actually ::nth-child(n+5)), but the problem is it doesn’t work with iOS (it’s always iOS, isn’t it?). iOS doesn’t recognize CSS related to select elements, since it wants to display it like the iOS system.

So, I need to find a way to remove those options somehow. Can I put in a feature request to add a “number of persons per booking/signup” field in addition to just the current “number of persons allowed for this service”?

OR a custom JS field along with the custom CSS field in the Appearance editor? I could accomplish this with JS, but not currently with the way the Bookly web app loads after everything else on the site does.

You can create 10 staff members and assign the same service to these staff members and set the capacity for each staff member = 4.

Hi there, I’m looking for a system to book tests for 2 clients (schools) and I need something to do like this…

I have 2 tests, A and B, so I add 2 services, but I also have the complet test with both A and B

I want to add a third test with bouth A and B each one has they own capacity, like 8, when someone choose to pick the complet test it must decreasse the capacity of both of tests, like a combination of both.

Also, the tests are in diferents days, like test A is on Friday and test B is on Monday, but if the person choose to do the complet test he must do the test B in a maximum of 6 days after test A, so it must be blocked the other dates after that.

I already bought another plugin and it doesn’t work like this, the support told me to do some kind of manipulation to get “more or less” that I want and it’s not working.

Can you tell me if I can do all that with your plugin with all the addons I need and if not, is that possible you can “program” a customized addon to do it?

You should be able to set the tests as dummy/placeholder staff member. Each of the staff members will have their own schedule. The system will offer the schedule of the selected test (staff member) in the Timestep. Once the staff member is booked for a particular timeslot for a service, that staff member and service are no longer available.

For example, if staff member Superstar is booked on Tuesday at 10 am for service Awesome then staff member Superstar is no longer available on Tuesday at 10 am for any other services she provides. Likewise, other customers will not be able to book service Awesome on Tuesday at 10 am, unless other staff members are set to provide this service.

However, there are available add-ons designed to offer versatility to accomplish preferred features in different scenarios.

Please check if this is doable when you have both the Bookly Special Days Add-on and the Bookly Service Schedule Add-on installed.

Here’s the lowdown:

You can do this for individual staff members. The beauty is that this shift on special days won’t just affect one staff member, it’ll apply to all staff members’ services.

You can set this up as a one-time interval for each day of the week, including breaks during the day. So, it’s all about specifying when services are available.

Now, when you have both of these add-ons in play, you can override standard working hours for particular dates on your calendar. Tweak the days and hours when individual services are up for booking. This is different from the Standard Special Days functionality, which applies changes to the entire staff member’s schedule and all their services. With these add-ons, you can even make a service completely unavailable for booking on certain days or set it to “OFF” in the time selection dropdown. Or, if you prefer, make the service “OFF” every day except for those special days.

hi, Is it possible to offer Tours to multiple clients with this addon? For example, a Tour offered on a given day would be open to the public to book, with a minimum of 2 people to a maximum of 12 people, in order for the Tour to run. The default fields that you can ask from the customers in the Details step are name, phone number, email address, birthday, customer’s address, and the Terms & Conditions checkbox.

To add other fields, please check if either the Bookly Customer Information Add-on or Bookly Custom Fields Add-on will work for this requirement.

The Bookly Customer Information Add-on: https://support.booking-wp-plugin.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001696154-Custom-data-in-client-s-profile-Customer-Information-Add-on- allows you to extend a customer profile with additional data about the client by letting you create various types of tailored fields with different questions, then collect the required information, and be available right in the Customers section in Bookly. The ‘Ask once’ setting allows you to display custom questions once. So it won’t be displayed for clients who are authorized WordPress users during the next booking session. Hence, the ‘Create WordPress user account for customers’ in the “Bookly > Settings > Customers” section needs to be enabled so WordPress user accounts are created for all new customers. For example our each service is maximum for 20 person but the service is only for one group. If a group has booked for 5 person, other group can´t book at the same hour although in reality there is room for more people. Is possible do it with this add-on? Thanks.

Hello, Did you get my message ?

We have installed bookly on one of our websites, we offer hot air balloon flights for up to 14 people maximum. If we choose a reservation by time slot, as soon as a person is registered for the date, the date disappears even though there are still 13 places available. If we leave it disabled we get to book for more than 13 people, which shouldn’t happen. Can you help us?

Hello, We have installed Bookly for one of our websites for hot air balloon flight reservations. We have a maximum capacity of 14 places in the balloon but unfortunately when we activate the option “one reservation per time slot” even if the 14 places are not reached, the date disappears. Can you help me?

I checked the back-end demo.

Is there a way to quickly remove tickets?

Example: yoga class, 10 spots available > Client ABC books online for 2 tickets > 8/10 spots available > Client ABC calls me to add another person and we agree client will pay cash on site, I see on the demo I can’t add manually 1 ticket to get 7/10 tickets available.

I continue my example: Client XYZ calls me to book 3 tickets and pay cash. How can I just remove 3 tickets from that class without needing to properly add a client on Bookly?

As admin, you should be able add customers in the group booking in the backend.

hello, I would like to consider using Bookly and any addon (?) to enable us to make a spa booking for 2 persons who are coming together for a massage, with 2 therapists.

Do I have to use the Group Booking addon? If so, can you please explain how to make it work?

Hello Clifford,

You will need the Collaborative Services (Add-on), it provides the option to set up services that are provided by two or more staff members. So, once a customer will book this service, it will block both staff members.
