I would like to bring to your notice that the QR Attendance module in the previous version of Smart School was working smoothly and efficiently for us. However, after the recent update, the current version has become quite complicated and confusing.
Despite multiple attempts, I’m still getting the error message: “Attendance setting not configured properly.”
I’ve tried everything on my end and have exhausted all options. If possible, kindly allow me to use the previous version again, or please release a simplified update that:
Allows me to configure settings once for a single role and apply it across all other roles with the same structure.
Gives the flexibility to manually update settings for any role that requires a different configuration.
Includes a working demo panel with proper QR attendance setup so I can refer to it for accurate configuration.
This will save a lot of time and confusion for schools like us.
Please note that previously in Smart School there was only one option (in attendance) available to take student and staff attendance, and there was no option available to take out attendance in Smart School, so we have added this out attendance option also in the latest version of Smart School, and now there are two attendance options available in Smart School, i.e., in and out attendance, to take attendance of students and staff. So now to manage and configure this attendance, there are new attendance settings added in System Settings > General Setting > Attendance Type in the latest version of Smart School. Further, if you are facing any issue in this, then you should contact our support portal so our team will help you.

The system could be customized in the assistance module. A photo could be uploaded and the faces in the photo could be detected, and the assistance would be automatically uploaded.
The procedure you are discussing is considered neither reliable nor safe, leading to potential misuse, which is why it is not part of Smart School. For attendance tracking, there is an alternative add-on called the Smart School Biometric Attendance App. This app allows you to record attendance using various methods such as RFID, thumb impressions, and facial recognition etc. So you use this addon, hopefully this will fulfil your requirements.
RFID, thumb impression, face recognition etc. are hardware device dependent features, so if your biometric device supports these features then Smart School Biometric Attendance App can send attendance.
Please note that Smart School QR Code Attendance and Smart School Biometric Attendance App are two different addons of Smart School and through Smart School QR Code Attendance addon you can take attendance through biometric and qr code.

Yes you can take attendance of student in Smart School through biometric device and for this you have to purchase Smart School Biometric Attendance App addon and install so then you will be able to take attendance through biometric in Smart School. Were can I see changelog on this plugins , or is not possible yet and which version its latest and also date!
The Smart School QR Code Attendance addon was recently released, and it’s the first version 1.0, and there is no update or version release after this, so there is no changelog for it currently. However, soon we will add a changelog for it.
QR Attendance is good but, in our schools student attendance is marked by individual class teacher for their respective subject. The QR only works in initial entry and must be taken by admin, this approach is good for staff only, but not for students.
Unfortunately QR Code Attendance is currently only available for day-wise attendance in Smart School and not available for period- or subject-wise attendance..
But in demo the QR is also available for period wise, but QR attendance can be only marked by admin only. i think i must be available for class teachers also, so that they can mark their class attendance (period wise).
Please don’t be confused; QR Code Attendance is currently only available for day-wise attendance in Smart School and not available for period- or subject-wise attendance. It seems you are confused because of the QR Code/Barcode/Biometric Attendance enable/disable option in System Settings > General Settings > Attendance Type, and please note that this option is available for auto attendance submission, and if it’s enabled and cron is setup properly, then auto attendance will be submitted for the class according to the time you have setup in Class Attendance Time For Auto Attendance Submission and also notifications will be send for this attendance (if notifications are enable from notification settings), and it is only for day-wise attendance.
Regarding the QR Code attendance option not available for teachers, please note that teachers can also take attendance through QR Code Attendance, and for this you should have to give permission to teachers from the Roles Permission module. presales question, is it read the admission number from the barcode and match the student database? if so, can you please add option to use the form textarea instead of camera? you can have 2 benefit, first you can just use any barcode / qrcode scanner in the market, and if the scanner is broken i can still input the number manually just like scanning the barcode in pos system, and add manually if its match i really need to use barcode and barcode scanner only

Thanks for your feature suggestion, we will try to implement your suggested input textbox for admission number input through any barcode/qrcode but it may cause security issue because anyone can manually input admission number even without student present or their barcode/qrcode scan.
thank you, and also i notice there is should be timestamp for auto late attendance, right now, when i input the attendance manually, the system record timestamp in created_at column, but in UTC, not in my selected timezone, so everyone is never late, is it will be added in the next update?

Unfortunately there is no setting to restrict QR Code Attendance only for teachers but if you want only teachers can submit attendance through QR Code Attendance then you should provide QR code id card only to teachers, so only they can scan their QR code for attendance.
We take attendance from students on a course-by-course basis. Won’t this cause problems?

Dynamic Presence Recording
1. Objective: The main goal of this proposal is to enrich Smart school which records the presence of teachers according to their established schedule, while taking into account lateness and absences.
2. Key Features: – Smart school must be able to synchronize with the teachers’ timetable, which details the planned days and times of classes.
- When the teacher is supposed to have a class according to their schedule, Smart school will automatically record their attendance.- In the event of a delay, Smart school can record this event and generate alerts if necessary. Likewise, if a teacher is absent from a scheduled lesson, the system must record this absence.- Smart school must be flexible to take into account the specific schedules of each teacher, as in the example where a teacher only teaches classes on Mondays and Thursdays.3. Practical Examples: – Example 1: A teacher has lessons every day of the week except Wednesday. The system will automatically record attendance Monday through Tuesday and Thursday through Friday, absent any lateness or reported absences. – Example 2: Another teacher gives lessons only on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon. The system will record attendance according to these specific times, without marking absence on days when there is no class.
As part of the proposal, it is explicitly mentioned that the system should not mark the teacher absent on days when he or she does not have classes, such as Wednesday in the example given.

2. Teacher Attendance Tracking: – Implement a mechanism to track teacher lateness and absence based on their individual schedules. For instance, if a teacher, according to their schedule, has no classes on Mondays, the system should mark them as on break. If the teacher has a class from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM on Tuesday and arrives at 10:05 AM, the system should note a 5-minute lateness and calculate the actual teaching time for salary purposes.
3. Salary Calculation: – Enhance the salary calculation for teachers based on the actual duration of teaching time.
