Proposal for Sngine: Improving the Stories Feature
Current Behavior: In the current Stories feature, when a user clicks on the text within a story, the link opens a new tab and directs them to the website’s homepage.
Proposed Enhancement: I suggest modifying the link’s behavior to create a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, aligning with modern social media platforms.
Specific Changes:
Direct to User Profile: Instead of linking to the homepage, the link should direct users to the profile page of the person who posted the story. This allows for a more seamless discovery of the creator's other content.Open in the Same Tab: The link should not open in a new tab (target="_blank"). It should open within the same tab to prevent the browser from becoming cluttered with multiple tabs and to maintain a smooth navigation flow.Benefits of Implementation:

Please add documentation on the Socket.io integration. I’m unable to make it work. Do we need an SSL certificate to make it work? Should we open a firewall port?

Thanks, I found the issue. proxy_pass https://127.0.0.1:3000; I had to change it to http since I’m using the proxied method.

How to pass user data (name & email) upon signup to a separate website? We use a CRM to manage users.
It has Webhooks to send or receive data from any third-party service without writing code or running servers. The CRM comes with both incoming and outgoing webhooks. But where do we paste the webhook in Sngine dashboard? Apps › APIs Settings area?

Looks like most countries are adding age verify for free adult content. Here is an api that I think would work well with sngine: https://www.k-id.com It would be good option to have.

Hi Zamblek, the script is great. I was testing the new version and noticed that, as in previous versions, the profile isn’t fully visible when scrolling down the user’s post feed. It’s blocked by the bottom navigation bar. This happens on your own profile and also on other users’ profiles. This is most noticeable if you go to a profile that hasn’t posted anything.
Otherwise, excellent script and excellent update. Congratulations on such a great job! It would be great to see the option to remove notifications in future updates.

Will you plan to include APIs for email notifications like Mailjet and Mailgun in future updates? For us who have servers like Godaddy, since they block sending messages via SMTP, one solution is to integrate APIs such as the Sponzy Script, which is on Codecanyon and which we acquired for that function, since Godaddy limits our use of SMTP. Furthermore, you are completely free to hire your own developers to edit Sngine code and add any feature you desire. You can even create it as a plugin and sell it to other clients instead of waiting.
You have over 17 payments gateways that people can use that don’t need a adult payments gateway, how many more do you need, if you have no intentions of adding one just say so, the only reason I haven’t hire my own developer is because you said it was going to be in this update. four months ago, if you would of been honest I would on took a different route. Thank the stars I’m not reliant on this and only have this script on websites I have that are for testing only and not released to the public. had to make maybe 30 different script changes (Chat GPT is a wonderful thing) to it just to close the holes that are open between free members and pro members, free members have way too much access to areas that only pro members should only have access to, the way it’s written free members can’t be totally stopped from making comments, viewing friends list, writing reviews, viewing pictures, sending messages, forum access and a whole lot more.
You might want to work on that a little more.
Also, what’s the point of place a link to your roadmap as a reply, without the payment gateway I and anyone that needs an adult payment gateway it’s a roadmap to nowhere, if you can’t make money, it’s of no use.
If someone that doesn’t need a site with adult content and have a free site or don’t mind having free members accessing a lot of places on a paid site, this script is fine to use, if you want to have tighter control on area access, you’re going to have to do some modifications.

I bought, installed, and have been using the Sngine software, and it’s truly an amazing piece of software. I fully support and appreciate the team behind it. Of course, there are some shortcomings, but I feel at ease because the team is actively working and producing. The only thing that concerns me is that I can’t update it myself, since I don’t have the knowledge. Hopefully, the team will provide updates instead of just installations. I wish them great success.

Hi I’d like to ask about the scalability of Sngine. In our case, we are targeting up to 30M monthly visits. Can the current Sngine codebase and database structure handle that level of traffic? Are there any best practices or performance tweaks you recommend to improve speed and stability at that scale? Many developers I’ve spoken to are not very comfortable with Pure PHP + Smarty, and they suggest rebuilding the platform in Laravel with MongoDB for stronger performance and better scalability. By the way, we’ve already customized Sngine and transformed it into a platform that’s not a social network anymore, but a new concept for digital advertising. Any insights, experiences, or suggestions would be very helpful

I have been testing this script for some time now since I discovered it. I would like to commend your effort in making this script load faster compared to others. Also, the admin dash is very nice. I’m just waiting for version 5 to be released. But i have some recommendations that will help and go a long way. Considering that there are so many social media platforms today which are highly competitive. I would suggest you integrate mostly open-source software to attract more people to this script. For real-time/push notification, Socket.io, Superbase, ntfy, Gotify, Appwrite, e.t.c Video calls/streaming; PlugNmeet, Jitsi, e.t.c Also, pls work on your chat system. When viewing all in Messenger, it shouldn’t pop up. It will be even better if you use the Instagram chat system on desktop/web view.
Also, integrating dating just as on Facebook is a core plugin.
