There’s a problem: tasks aren’t being added when I take the project from the template, and I’m getting a 500 error.

I have a problem figuring out something. I checked it also directly on your demo site to be sure that my settings or codes are not the problem, but even on your demo site the same issue exist.
Maybe is not an issue, rather a setting.

But no matter what I check on these checkboxes, when creating a project from template, all the tasks show up with all 3 checkboxes checked:

Is there a way to make sure some tasks are non-billable and non-public?

Hi, we are interested in purchasing but we see there has been no update since September of last year and no response to last two comments. This is concerning. Have you abandoned this module? If no, Will the next improvement update be released within the next 30 days? thanks!

Feature Request – Task Flow Management for Project Templates
Introduction
First of all, congratulations on the Project Templates plugin! It is incredibly well-designed, intuitive, and seamlessly integrates with the core system UI. The user experience is smooth, making it an excellent tool for managing project structures.
However, many users are looking for a more dynamic way to manage tasks by stages or phases instead of seeing all tasks at once. There is another plugin, Project Task Manage, that offers staged task creation, helping users control task flow without overwhelming them from the start. Unfortunately, its UI does not blend well with the system, making the experience less cohesive.
By adding a similar feature to Project Templates, your plugin could significantly increase sales. This enhancement would transform it from a simple template manager into a powerful workflow automation tool. Many users seek structured task flows, and this would give your plugin a competitive edge.
Requested Enhancement
We propose adding a new feature to Project Templates that allows staged task management.
- Create a new tab inside Project Templates called
Flow Tasks. - Use a Canvas View (similar to Milestones) to design a flow of tasks for each project.
- Each stage contains a set of tasks that only become active once the previous stage is completed.
- Tasks from the next stage generate automatically once all tasks in the current stage are completed.
- Inside the projects, introduce a small view listing pending tasks yet to be generated.
- Allow users to manually generate tasks from the next phase if needed.
Alternative Implementation
If creating a Canvas View is too complex, an alternative approach could be:
- Add a new field in the task creation form to select the
Stage/Queue/Phasea task belongs to. - Once a phase is completed, tasks from the next phase generate automatically.
Expected Benefits
- Transforms Project Templates from a static template tool to a full-fledged workflow automation system.
- Improves user experience by reducing the number of visible tasks at any given time.
- Prevents users from feeling overwhelmed by a long list of tasks at the project start.
- Gives project managers better control over task progression.
- Increases sales by attracting users looking for structured workflow solutions.
By implementing staged task generation, Project Templates would become the go-to solution for structured workflows, significantly boosting its market appeal.

Yes it works
Very good add-on. The demo works great. However, there are a few issues that make the add-on not very convenient to use. 1. I can’t create a project using a template from a client profile. 2. When creating a new project from a template, I can’t change the title on the fly. 3. When creating a task template, I can’t select a fixed date or date range (only time after the start of the project or after the previous task). Maybe I didn’t find all the settings or I need another add-on on top of this one. Thanks
Demosite is blocked by Bitdefender. I would have liked to see if it was possible to enter time periods for the milestones and tasks for duration and distance to the previous step. That would be important for me.

Can’t access demo – after login, just gives 419 error page – even tried on private window, same thing.
Demo resets after every 1 hour so you can check now
in the new version of perfex crm, i cant create task templates in the the project template. I think there is a problem with the interface… can you fix it ? thanks

No I cannot. The customer section of the demo is disabled and settings option to switch on, and you don’t have any test clients in the demo to use.

but nope, demo is still not working, infinite load on the demo, not working. on incognito no infinite load but error 419 page expired after login

Great, the demo works now and everything is functioning well.
The only thing I’m missing is a ‘Create Project from Template’ or ‘Create Task from Template’ button on the project and task overview pages, not just in the setup page.
Yes it is not possible to automatically change core files of crm. That has to be done manually. To do that code is available in documentation.
I bought it. I see the customisation info in the documentation, just above ‘staff permissions’
isn’t there any hook to use instead of overwriting the template? and or a child theming way to do this?
No that’s sad there is no hook available. But you can copy the file you need change and rename it with prefix “my_” and then do changes in it. It should work as this is only way to override core files in perfex.
To create task templates within a project, do we also need the task template addon?
Yes we need to install is separately. I am planning to add a combo of both.
Created a project template, but cannot create project from it as there seems to be no customers in the system, and customer is a required field. Please could you add a customer so the demo can be fully tested? Thanks
