your demo is great and i’m considering the purchase. Some question:
- i know openai pricing but i don’t know enough about HeyGen. Of course the cost will vary according to the usage, but can you tell me an estimation of what cost should i expect from heygen to operate these kind of avatars?
- another question is about the nature of this product: is this a script or a wordpress plugin? I mean, can i prepare my avatars on a separate dashboard and then embed them into separate wordpress websites, or do i have to create the avatar inside wordpress as a plugin?
- in other words: can i sell this service as a Saas? and if no, when you think the Saas version will be ready?

Thank you for your interest in LiveSmart!
You can use HeyGen free API token. It comes with 12 avatars (in the dashboard they are marked with green), 3 sessions at once and up to 1000 characters of speech or the avatar will not respond if text is with more than 1000 characters.
This is a standalone product that can be installed almost anywhere including on Shared hosting. The only requirement is PHP to be at least version 8.1. Also there is a WordPress plugin included in the release and you can integrate it within WP admin panel and generate avatars from there. Here is an example on how the integration works.
SaaS version of the product is under heavy development and I plan to release it in the coming week, maybe 14th of July. The codebase is one and the same, just payment options and selling the service will be available only for Extended license.

Free HeyGen key is enough if you are ok with using 12 avatars, up to 1000 characters of speech and 3 sessions at once. If you need more avatars, you can go with HeyGen subscription plans. For SaaS version – you can get the Regular now, test it and if you are ok with it, I can do a discount for Extended later.
- Yes, wordpress plugin includes adding a shortcode to your WP pages, and avatar page can be included in any WP page or blog.
- You can setup an assistant in your OpenAI dashboard. In the LiveSmart Dashboard -> Rooms -> Video AI Avatar – at the bottom there is a drop-down listing all the assistants and you can assign any of them to the avatar.
- Yes, you can change the page as you have the code. As in order video to start, browsers require a user interaction, that is why there is a form, asking for user to enter their names. It can be changed to just a button saying Start the meeting.

Your answer is clear and now i see the the drop down menu to assign an assistant. But doubts remain about HeyGen cost because, of course, for real production (both in a normal live website and in a Saas scenario), 3 sessions at once is not enough. Also the limitation of 1000 char is quite low, in fact yesterday it happen to me that in your demo the avatar didn’t answer because the text produced was too long. This is ok for a free demo but not for a real production.
Yesterday I checked their subscription plan page, but it is not clear which function i have to pay. I think it is “streaming avatar”, a function they name somewhere but they don’t assign a price, so it is confusing me. So, if i have a website with 100 users, or a Saas with 100 customers, is this stuff sustainable or not? How much should i charge my customer in a Saas scenario, and/or how much will i pay HeyGen for a real live website, where i have many visitors?

LiveSmart model perfectly fits for free HeyGen token – interactions with avatars, three sessions at once and not long avatar speech. But if you need more avatars, or if you need more minutes of avatar speech, you need to go with HeyGen Enterprice API. HeyGen has so called credits, where 1 credit is 1 minute of avatar speech. You can obtain Enterprice API with a purchase of 10000 credits, which is $1000, this is about 167 hours of speech. $1000 is the minimum wage and is not a subscription fee, but one time purchase. You pay $1000, you get 10000 credits. If you need more avatars, but you do not need to go Enterprice, you can subscribe, where minimum monthly fee is $24 for one year. You can contact HeyGen support guys and describe them your case, for sure they will respond fast and will offer you best option.

ok, so the key information here is that 1 credit = 1 minute of avatar speech. This is not clear on their website, because they talk about 1 minut video, and i wasn’t sure that video equals to stream.
So if i subscribe for 288$ yearly, i get 180 yearly credits = 180 mins of avatar speaking stream and this way i can calculate how much is 1 min and i can sell the avatar as Saas. We can say that 1 min = 1.6$ (288$/180 min)

I’m really confused about their business model and i will appreciate if you clarify it to me, so that i can proceed with the purchase. Believe me, i am trying to interpret their website but it is cloudy.
Again, LiveSmart model is in interaction with avatars and it perfectly fits the free API token. Their speech in conversation mode is not more than 1 minute of uninterrupted speech. As you have seen, if the answer is more than 1000 characters, it simply does not do voice, but their answers can be limited, something like “answer in short sentences, no more than 1000 symbols”.
Demos have 100-150 sessions with avatars per day and there is no problem with using the free API token.
Why don’t you chat with their support and explain clearly what is your concern?

Open it from server folder with a text editor, get the content and paste it in SQL tab of your PhpMyAdmin after you select the DB where your LiveSmart tables are.

1. You can create a custom avatar from HeyGen platform dashboard, but it is paid. In a chat with HeyGen support they told me it costs $500. Currently I am using the free API token and using the free avatars.
2. LiveSmart is integrating Voice recognition with OpenAI and HeyGen. You speak, your voice is transformed into text and send to OpenAI (ChatGPT). The answer is sent to HeyGen avatar and it voices it back to you.
3. Training or programming the avatar is this way – you can update it custom attitude or use some advanced functions to connect to external functions. For more information you can check the FAQ section. In the coming release I am adding a possibility to connect to pre-created assistant from the OpenAI dashboard.

Yes, but if you use free and the idea is to do it as saas, that credits will be out really short time, besides only limited time…it is impossible to charge an end customer for such limited time and tokens.
So you can have a free API, right?
And again, the situation is not like you are describing it. Luckily our model is based on a conversation with the avatar based on OpenAI chat bot. So there is no need to have more than 1 minute of uninterrupted speech from the avatar.
Limitations for using the Free API is that you can use up to 12 avatars, 2000 characters of speech and you can have up to 3 avatar sessions at once. Pretty neat in my opinion and more than enough for this software. But if you need more than that, you can have the on demand Enterprice token from HeyGen. You can purchase 10000 credits with $1000 (not $10000) and drop these limitations. 1 credit is equivalent to 1 minute of speech or nearly 166 hours for all the sum. If you need to do custom avatars, you can have it for $500. But again this is not necessary for the model we use. If you need to enable all the provided avatars, you can go with the $24 per month subscription to HeyGen.
As you see from the provided demos all can be done with the Free API.

Difference between regular and extended license is in the terms of usage. Please read this Envato article about different licenses. In short if you are asking your customers to pay you to use LiveSmart, you will need Extended license. Adding the SaaS facility is only helping you with providing a paid posibility. You can still add LiveSmart behind a page for subscribers, using some merchandise tools like WooCommerce for example.

1. You can change the landing page from pages/index.html page. Wording of Dashboard can be changed from the dash/locales/dashboard.json file. Locales of video are in Locales section in the dashboard. Logos are in img/logo.png and dash/img/logo.png
2. Yes, after you install the included plugin, you can add to your WP page [livesmart_ai_widget room=”NAME_OF_THE_ROOM”]
3. Script is separated from WP, but you can put it in any folder by your choices. If you can, I recommend you to put it on a separate domain. For example my demo page is on https://www.new-dev.com/videoai and the integrated plugin and demo AI page is on https://livesmart.video/video-ai-avatar-demo/
4. Yes, when you install the plugin, upon login to WP, your WP users are integrated into LiveSmart and have integrated dashboard into WP panel and can do avatar videos.

You can set a password on your WP or the page with the iframe, so only people who know the password to be able to see it. Or you can change avatar rooms often.
Could you possibly create an ‘allowed sites’ area in admin where we can list the external sites we want to allow use. Basically if the website’s not in the list it won’t run. This would stop any other sites taking advantage.
Actually there is a server side restriction that can be applied and it is better than any software solution. Please check this article on how to forbid being “framed” from not allowed web sites.

2. Yes, you can upload your own background. Also you can change the video quality from the default “medium” to “high”. Also check other demos for example the weather demo page, where background is dynamically changed based on the city. This sample function is included in the release, together with the documentation on how to set it up.

It did not work!! It show “Error creating video AI avatar!”
It fails often to request video AI avatars.
Heygen, they offer trial tokens for free, up to 5 videos per day only. I can’t generate unlimited. I think we need to request money back for this script.

It is saying error creating video ai avatars, because you are using the paid one. Free ones are bolded and listed in the Video AI avatar page.
Also this is not true that HeyGen free token is ofering 5 videos per day. I am using it and I have about 100-150 demo sessions per day. Limitations for free heygen key is that you can use 12 avatars, 2000 symbols of speaking in one response, not all voices (but all languages are listed there) and three sessions at once, i.e. you can have three avatars speaking at the same time.
Limitations of the free token are listed in the documentation page and are discussed several times in the comments section.
Please have in mind that this product is constantly evolving and I am adding features non-stop. One of the short-coming tasks is to add SaaS module and new Avatar platorms.

Please for HeyGen API key creation follow instructions in the video in documentation page. Click on your account name in the account page – Space settings – API and choose the tab Free trial token and then copy it.
About the installation – if your domain is https://yourdomain.com and you decide to install the product under the folder ai, create it, then copy all the files from the zip in it, and then open https://yourdomain.com/ai/install and follow instructions.
Make sure your PHP is 8.1 at least. There is no need of node.js here.

If this custom avatar is not listed in the list, you may need to add it manually. If you have the avatar ID, try to add it manually in the table lsv_rooms for a room, where you can test it.

1. Yes, they are paid. Free avatars are bolded in the Avatar creation page.
2. Delay depends on the speed of your server and your bandwidth. The workflow is like this – visitor speaks -> voice recognition facility -> Chat GPT -> response in text -> text is sent to Voice avatar -> avatar speaks to the customer. As you can see from the demo site, the reponse time is acceptable.
You can check where is the bottleneck. Open the chat and speak. Time between you finish speaking and the text appears in the chat – this is voice recognition. The answer appears in the chat – this is ChatGPT response. When the avatar starts speaking – this is the HeyGen repsonse. As OpenAI and HeyGen are located maybe it depends on your hosting server location?
