I have just downloaded the latest update. I was expecting to get new version 5.0.0. Compared to my previous version there are some changes visible, but the script inside AS.php says “define(‘AS_VERSION’, ‘4.0.0’);” which is the same as previous version.

The work is in progress, so I expect it to be released in the next month or so. My main focus was releasing an update for my other script (https://codecanyon.net/item/vanguard-advanced-php-login-and-user-management/14521866), so I’ll focus on this one after I return from a vacation.
There won’t be any new features in the new update, except maybe small changes and tweaks here and there, an updated UI, and some code improvements.

You can log in either with your email or username, so if you know the email, you can use the Forgot Password option to reset the password and log in with the new credentials. Of course, if you want, you can extend the password reset email and include the username there to make it easier for the users to log in.

Unfortunately I cannot help much with this since it’s not related to the application itself. That’s something that you can do with rewriting URLs using your webserver config (apache, nginx, etc), so it should be something that you can achieve with correct .htaccess rules. If the login page was not working after you added some .htaccess rewrite rules, it’s most likely some issue with the rules themselves, so I’d double check them and try to tweak them a bit.

Thank you, you are probably right. Because I am also having difficulties with password recovery on WordPress on that server. I would be a good idea to encode an error message into the AS app, similar to one I am getting from WordPress: “Error: the email could not be sent. Your site may not be correctly configured to send emails”

Hello, please i have a website which i wish to protect with a login system, so that users just have to login before accessing the webpage, and also i want to be the one who creates the username and password for the users and not them creating it, i don’t want them to see register anywhere, they can just be log in with the credentials provided to them. What you have described can be accomplished with AS, but you will have to make certain modifications to the codebase to completely turn off the registration and ability for users to change their passwords. If you are familiar with PHP that should not be an issue.
The script will work on PHP 7.4 without any issues.
