We currently render the frontend using twig template engine. In order to use your template we would have to create the whole application API based to connect with NextJS and make it run on two different ports, one for php and one for nodejs server.

Hello, I think you misunderstood the search functionality. In our search for different it search with “and” relation and for same section it search with “or” relation. For example here men and sunglass both are categories it will be search in or relation that mean the search result will contain both men and sunglass product. Now if you select sunglass and red then it will show only those sunglasses which are red. Because here red is in another section. I hope you understand.

You have to be able to drill down into a category… For example when you click Men’s, then you can only select the subcategories of Mens. E.g. Men’s -> Shoes “and” Men’s Sunglasses. Then your search would work as expected. You should only allow “and” searches on subcategories.

Now here’s why the existing search is flawed…

If a customer wants to find a men’s shoe, they can’t. Or what if they want to find a women’s bra, they can’t. Imagine if they were shopping in a retail store and they wanted womens shoes, but instead of having a women’s shoe department, there were women’s belts, bras, shirts, pants and shoes all mixed up together. That doesn’t make sense right? Department stores have a women’s shoe department, a women’s pants department and a women’s underwear department.
