Hello,
My version of prestashop is this 1.7.8.7 I tried to add a field in the product and it shows me a successful message when I add it. But it doesn’t show on product page or module list.
Is there any configuration that I need to do? Can you give me an example to add a custom field on the product page?

Make sure that you fill in the name of the custom field in all available languages and that you select the store for which you want the field to exist (at the bottom).
If the issue persist, please send me your admin credentials, so I can make a demo field for you!

Well, Advanced Custom Fields allows you to add custom fields into your template by using Prestashop standard widget code..
It could work with creative elements only if creative elements can handle Prestashop widget code.. you should ask creative elements author about this..

So I can add custom fields and then display each one result by adding shortcode into an html widget included in creative elements?
What about other pages not even product pages ? Is there a way to create specific fields for pages that are not product pages ?

Yes exactly.. you can create custom fields and then you can display them by using the respective widget code.
You can display them both in product pages and other pages too!
Normally, you should use the widget code into your template files.
If you want to use the widget code into the creative elements html widget, you need to ask the author of creative elements if the widget code is supported.. If yes, then you will be ok.. If not, you will not be able to use the widget code in creative elements..

Hello, I have a question before purchase. I have over 40,000 products for which I would like to add a custom text field. So I can’t do it by hand. Is it possible to create these fields by a CSV import with the texts to display in each file? Directly from the module or simply via the database?

well, import via a csv is not available, but you can import the text for a custom field directly through the database via an sql query!

will this allow a customer to select from a drop down box on the product page, for instance, we sell beds on our store, we want the customer to select the material.
if that is possible, is it possible to link to select lists? so if they select material the select for material colour appears for them to select available colours for that material? thanks

Product custom fields are not meant to be modifiable by customers! They are modified only by the admin!
You should use native Prestashop product customizations for this!

you can choose to have translatable text, textarea and wysiwyg fields!
you can switch between the languages through the standard Prestashop way. In the product page, you just change the language drop down at the top. And in category fields you change the language from the language dropdown next to the field!
