If you want to create a website with blogs, other pages, etc then use WordPress Plugin. If you just want the features of Global DNS and want to stay away from quirks of WordPress then go with PHP Version.

No, you cannot create menu or blog on PHP version. You can take any DNS provider you want.

2. Setup your Own Server – If you own multiple shared hosting then you can also setup your own server, you can find details here – https://support.thehp.in/article/15647

Is there any way to set a timeout on the DNS queries? Sometimes it takes 1 minute to timeout can I set that lower?

Default value set by WordPress is 5 seconds. Unless you have changed this or using any plugin to change this timeout, it should not take 1 min.

hi, sure, taking my self and my what i need as example, i do have WordPress sites as well, but personally i would consider buying this as a standalone script simply because it will allow me to combine it with some other projects and kinda expend some part of those saas or others web app i’m talking about, that’s the main reason i would consider the script instead of the plugin, its more on a need bases but not on performance or usability point of view. Plugins are as well perfect and fine, and even though i could strip the plugin and convert it to a script but rather getting it done from the origin to maintain as well updates & compatibility ect.. cheers!

If you want to add servers manually, you can do that in 2 ways
1. Buy shared hosting from hosting provider and put the server
2. Use the DNS server IP

Regarding your local was not working, there can be multiple reasons for it but there is no way for me to check it. What is connection time, exactly?
Speed testing is not necessary a DNS thing, but will think on this.
PING gives the same result as Speed testing, right?

To be exact, the connection time should be the Parse time,
As you said, the Speed testing has exceeded the DNS scope , it’s not necessary.
I think the speed test is more like counting the speed at which a file is downloaded or uploaded from the test server.
PING is also good, just like https://asm.ca.com/en/ping.php 
I found If the test server’s down, such as 502 or 404 error , it will display a big 502 or 404 on the DNS check page not display the “RED X” image.
In addition, I think can add a hidden option to the server list, because when I want to temporarily hide a server, I can only delete it.
