You can change the search bar width and button color with the following CSS (Add to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS)

1. Actually you can use Admin Menu Editor plugin to control the permission of access to the dashboard. If you have any suggestion on WooCommerce role, please let me know, I will think to add the role manager.

2. No, because all processes are automatically running in backend with Ajax, so it will not effect the website loading speed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know how to change user roles with a plugin or in code, but I don´t like the use of an extra plugin, just to give access to a certain userole. As this plugin is (also) very usefull for Woocommerce Shop, I believe that userole need standard access to the dashboard too.
