http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/Un saludo!
love this.
thanks for your time to share it.
Thanks very much. Enjoy the file and don’t forget to rate it if you finally like it!
Kind regards.
Looking to implement this shining star of a product on our intranet however, we need to offer it up in both English and French (Canada). Can all the text labels be edited? Dates for example might be tricky if they are simply auto-generated. Thanks in advance, and great product.
Hi. No, everything on the plugin is editable through html directly, not even needed to edit any label on js file.
Hope this helps. Let me know if i can be of further assistance.
I purchased this item and see its now a wordpress plugin. Do I have to re-purchase it to get the wordpress plugin version?
Hi. Yes, this is the html/js/css version. The WP has been made by other author, whom i joined with on this. In case it can help you, some other users buying this version implemented it on WP templates using simple iframe plugin. Hope this helps. Kind regards and thanks for purchase.
Hey, I just found it. It was in the tipsy.css: .tipsy-inner { padding: 3px 5px 3px 5px; background-color: black; color: white; max-width: 200px; text-align: center; }
You have been faster than me.
Nice you found it. Be careful as that CSS rule will affect also to the popup on read more button and galleries.
Hi, that’s the css for the background. I want to change the black “banner” behind the text that appears just above the scrollbar mark when you put your cursor on the scrollbar mark. In your example, the first one reads, “March 1992” the next one is “2006.” It’s a text highlight, I guess, but I still can’t find it in the css file.
Answered!
I’ve looked all over, but I can’t seem to find the css for the background color behind the text that appears above the scrollbar mark. It’s now white text on a black background. I’d like to change the color of that background.
Hi. Edit css/styles.css. Line 55:
#timeline_container {
position:relative;
background-color:#242424;
border:4px solid #ffffff;
opacity: 0;
}
background-color:#242424;

seems like the markers aren’t always calling the exact same place. is it possible to “snap” to marker ?
Hi. By default, what is exactly positioning the dragger+elements is the mouse position while clicking, not the position of the marker itself. Although some tricks on the js can be done to match your requeriments. I’ll think about it for future releases. If you could be interested in a custom budget for this contact me through my profile form. Kind regards and thanks for purchase.
Hi there!
Amazing piece of kit… Seriously thinking of purchasing…
I know that you say that it is ‘mobile devices optimized’ but I just wondered how? I only ask as I’d really like to use this on a responsive layout, so I’d really like full control over all element placements/dimensions etc… Is this possible (i.e. all editable via CSS ) or are some of the parameters I’d need to tweak hard-baked into the JS?
Many thanks…
Gareth
Hi Gareth. First of all this is not a responsive slider, but i optimized a lot the behaviours of the dragging actions over the slider for android and iOS devices. You can control the size of the whole slider through custom html vars (check my comment on page 2) but note that the size is not dynamic related with the stage.
Well, hope this helps. Let me know if i can of further assistance. And thanks for your kind words, much appreciated.
Thanks for getting back so quickly… So as I understand, quite a few of the elements’ dimensions (particularly widths) are set by JS and not CSS … Just had a quick look through the structure and I guess what I’d need to control via conditional CSS is timeline_container, timeline, viewport and milestones... At a glance do you think this is easy to implement or would involve writing extra JS to deal with these changes?
Many thanks
Gareth
Hi Gareth. The custom html vars are concretely to make easier the main customization. Through the plugin js i parsed all values to css attribs to different elements, like:
container.css("width", tl.attr("data-width"));
container.css("height", tl.attr("data-height"));
...
So i think you can manage to make them dynamic without adding conditional css for each one. But didn’t tested, so somehow this is a “brief” help.
Sure… Makes sense… I managed to get the interface to work (giving everything percentage values) but unfortunately due to the nature of the scrollbar and markers I don’t think I’d be able to make a truly responsive version without a lot of re-engineering… Thank you so much for your time and help anyway… Will keep an eye out for any future developments!
Hi. But how did you managed to get the interface to work?
You don’t have the sources yet.
Edited values temporarily with Chrome developer tools…
Is this compatible with jQuery 1.5? (You list v1.5 in one place, and 1.7 in another.) Has anyone implemented it into a Drupal 7 site?
Is it possible to download sample code to make sure it works in Drupal before purchasing?
Hi. The file is built on jQuery 1.7.1. Strangely authors only have jq1.5 on the combo list while uploading the file on Envato platform.
Sorry, but sample code is protected. Never used Drupal, so i can’t tell you if it’s compatible. But what i can tell is that is build carefully as a jQuery formatted plugin, under all standards.
Kind regards
Sorry got the wrong browser. It’s Chrome it doesn’t work in!!!
Chrome works like a charm for me also.
Version 19.0.
Send me your url so i can tell yoou if it’s something on your end.
Hi PezFlash Thanks for the product. We talked before. I installed it and everything, and all is fine. Was just doing a cross-browser check and noticed that the music doesn’t play in Firefox. Any reason for this? Anyway to fix?
Thanks
It works fine on my end (in fact, is my default browser). Which platform and version do you have? Notice that on FF in some platform the audio js will call the flash fallback, so you need to have the plugin installed in order to work. If you prefer, send me through my profile form (not here) your url, and i’ll check if it works fine.
Great timeline. I’m setting up a digital archives element for a non-profit using it. Should be really great in the end. The one problem I’m running into is that I have to load the timeline in an iframe through a cms. When I click on a link in the milestones div, the lightbox only fills the iframe so most of my images are only partially viewable. I’ve been searching high and low to try to find a way to get the lightbox to open up into the parent window. Not sure if there are any suggestions you can make but I’d love to find a solution.
Thanks for taking the time to get back. I spent quite some time on this and various forums trying to search for a solution that would work for me but in the end I wasn’t able to successfully get prettyphoto to open up into the parent page from the iframe. Luckily we were able to figure out another way to incorporate this timeline into the site through the cms without using the iframe. Really excited for what it will be like when it’s complete.
Well, sorry you coudn’t get it done. For the instructions (didn’t test) seemed straight forward. Anyway, nice you got it running. Enjoy the file and let me know if i can be of further assistance.
Pez, Will this work in Captivate 5.5?
Hi. I’m afraid i can’t help you out on this, never used Captivate. But as long as you can integrate html+css+javascript files it should work.
This looks great! But before I purchase, I want to know, is it possible is scroll to a “milestone mark” on click of a line of text?
Hi. Well, it’s possible, creating a custom js script for that. There is no out-of-box feature foe that, but can be done, of course. If you finally buy it and get stuck trying it don’t hesitate to contact me for further support. Kind regards.
Thanks Pez, just purchased this and will be exploring it later today. One more thing, the description says it’s mobile optimized but when I view the preview on my iPhone, it’s not working… Does this work in mobile devices?
Hi. When i tested it i debugged also on iPhone and iPad. All was working fine, but this is not a fully responsive slider, if that’s what you mean. Kind regards and thanks for purchase.
Thanks for the quick reply, Pez. You may have already answered this so I apologize if this is a repeat but is it possible to put any type of image in the viewing area? For example, an animated gif?
thanks again
Yes, it’s possible. jpg, png, gif, ani-gif.
You can even use that area and insert (tricking a bit a css) a video player, for example.
