This should work here but it seems to me this theme has modified core hooks that’s why it’s not working here .

Animation and cart works, but added items are not shown in the mini sidebar cart, its blank. I can see the items in the regular cart.

i have checked the site and the your site has some css that is causing some problem.and the animation loading first half is fine but last half is ok. Dont worry contact with me and at given mail then i will check from admin.
