I am having a lot of trouble with reusing the Pixie instance for different images.

In normal operation I call new Pixie(...) and it works great.

Calling resetAndOpenEditor(...) also works to open with a new image.

But when our app moves to a different view (not a full page) we destroy the Pixie instance via ‘delete pixie’

Next time we come in and request a new Pixie(...) the overlay opens but using the OLD image data, not the URL we pass in.

Calling resetAndOpenEditor(...) a second time in this case causes the editor to appear with the correct image, but it is clearly an older instance because the callbacks it invokes for onLoad/onSave/etc are tied to older instances of our surrounding component and we end up saving the new image against an old record.

What I need to know is: how do I fully destroy the pixie instance so there is no state left available

I have tried storing the Pixie instance under the window object … but this doesn’t work well, it gets into the state when calling resetAndOpenEditor(...) doesn’t actually open the overlay. The onLoad callback fires, but nothing shows on the screen.

Your plugin is really great but it is unusable on a mobile device to edit texts. You can try with your live version. When you add text, it is very difficult to click on the text you want to edit because the virtual keyboard is displayed and the image / text is minimized.

Do you plan to improve it? Maybe one solution would be to add a global overlay to edit a text?

I would love an option to have the onSave callback provide binary data.

We found working with base64 encoded data really slow for large images, so currently convert from bae64 to a Uint8Array in the browser to do a binary post.

This works, but means the browser is converting back and forth.

We would also considering paying for a subscription service where you handle the save to the your servers & provide a time limited URL that can be used to download the image on our server for further processing.
