Hi, This looks great – love the clean interface. A couple of questions to see if this will work for my client’s project:
- Releasing funds to the sellers. Is this done in bulk/automatically? So if there are 300 auctions that have happened that week and funds are released on a Friday, is it one click of a button, or 300? Or can it happen automatically on the Friday?
- The time remaining. On the demo the time remaining is in days. When there’s less than a day left does that show the time more specifically? Like 3 hours 20 minutes left?
- Notifications. Does the user get notified if they are outbid? I couldn’t see that in the description, but seems pretty critical to encourage bids.
- On the demo, when I click place bid without being logged in it pops up a login dialog as you would expect, but it also redirects the user away from the auction listing back to the front page of the site. Why? This seems confusing for the user and will lose bids. Will it redirect back to the listing after logging in?

Releasing: click of a button generates paypal mass pay file. Time remaining: Nothing will happen, it will show 3 mins but if you stay 2 on the page you have to refresh to see 1. No outbid notification, no redirect back to listing after logging in (although I have added those 2 on my todo list for jan)

Oh, sorry, I thought I read in another comment that they were on your list. Is there a technical hurdle preventing the adding of sub-categories? (in other words if I were to hire someone to add sub categories would they be able to do it in a straight forward way or would it require a massive re-write?)

If you plan to list a lot of items, you must ask the author about the list pagination. I write this to comment section because, after I bought the product, I understood that the script does not contain pagination at the bottom of list.

Hi I want to add the following functionality – if you are able to do it? Are you able to modify the Auction plugin to do the following?
1. If someone should bid within the last fifteen minuets of the auction it will add an additional 15 mins to the action countdown time. Only when no further bids are taken in the last fifteen minutes of the auction will the auction end.

If you think so, hack my demo site and put it down. All you did is download the source code from warez site, look at the source how the hash is computed then pretended to be a hacker. I got your point. I can’t see any PHP errors on any URL’s on my demo site either.

Your auction script using static hash SELECT userID FROM users WHERE MD5 (CONCAT (userID, email)) instead of using a random hash. Users don’t change email every day and userID is a primary key. Users can go back to the history and change unlimited password because hash didn’t change. Do you think that’s not a security issue? I am not intending and pretend to a be hacker. I’m just here to help.
Yea yea, I’ve heard that before (a friend bought it). That’s not even close to a security issue. You have to know one’s user ID and email to do that. Emails aren’t published anywhere. URL’s you posted are not intended to be directly accessed as they don’t exist. It’s just URL’s without any parameters. This is the last message you’ll get from me. No KYC checks. If a troll is bumping the prices and disappears nothing happens. This can happen anywhere in the world. It starts from the lowest so the user sees the history of bids in the order they came.
