Hey there, when activate our plugin. You can use in existing menu, outside of the menu or as fixed.

These means when you activated it the menu icon will be appears and you can use in anything when click it.

Hi – fixed issue, ignore the above Moving forwards it might be a nice idea to let us set a background image for the overlay and to set the number of (and the width of) the columns.

I’ve found a workaround by adding the following CSS:

Icon Placement: Outside The Nav Menu Fixed

.twp_menu_outside { display: none; }

You can add menus in overlay menu widget.. like as the mentioned at documentation. There is no another documentation.

Yes but the documentation is not clear on how to do so, and how to make columns… Not much help on how to set up at all.

It’s all just stock in one column. You have it like that in the demo and then people are having difficulty setting it up properly. Very misleading.

Yo can prepare a visual composer colum on a temp page an you can use anything in the ıvrrlay menu widget. We give out a link for demo content please look at the cooments.

Was hoping to get “Menu and the icon” in line with the original menu which is “Contact”. The icon is in line but now the word “menu”.

Your demo (is this the newest version?) shows only one icon in the opened overlay menu. But in the plugin the icon must be set. Without setting no hamburger icon is displayed for opening. And when set, 2 close-icons are displayed. I think, this needs a little bugfix and then it will work fine.

Thanks for updating to 1.0.5. But now there is no outside icon. Inside menu works, but there is only the standard icon in upper right corner in the open overlaymenu and the X from the older version is missing … So I look on the demo … but this looks like an older version.

Close button and image button will be added with the next version. Current version includes some bug fixes regarding with the main opener icon.

In the new version 1.0.5 in my installation the icon outside the menu (fixed and static) isn’t displayed. So you can’t open the overlay menu. But it works when icon is placed in the menu …

I think, in newest version 1.0.5 the outside menu has a lower z-index than in 1.0.4. When I set it to 20000 the outside menu will be displayed. And this should be one difference to prior version 1.0.4. After installing the older version the outside menu position works and is displayed.

…and 6.: when menu link in opened overlay menu ist clicked, it’s not necessary to close overlay menu like now implemented, because the new page is loaded. Or closing has to be the last action before loading new page.

Basically it works with this jquery in my outside fixed hamburger menu:

Today I’ve installed plugin version 1.1 and I wonder because after more than six month the suggested feature “leave menue with escape” is not implemented. Escape key works – but now it only shows the normal icon and not the close icon in opened menu (I use \f405 as close icon and in earlier version it works). (And: Please change text form “CLOSE BOTTON” to “CLOSE BUTTON”.)

…and now I can change the visibility of the overlay by clicking the escape button from visible to unvisible and back.

O sorry, but now it did not work as expected. The escape key changes the visibility every time it is pressed and not only in opened overlay menu …! Please, work a little bit on it.

And one more thing: Why can’t I adjust the text position from close icon same as I can do for open icon?

Did you update the ESC-funktion? Last version the escape key works for opening overlay menu same way as for closing menu. I think, it needs a script function which checks the state of the menu.

I have checked it up and yes, it works with search widget. There is a small button to close the overlay, now. However, I liked the way the overlay close after clicking anywhere without having to point and click on a small button.

Hi,partially yes but you need to make your own styles within the Overlay Menu content. So the plugin allows to you a widget area to use anything in the widget.

The plugin automatically create a widget area and you are allow to use anything in this area. (Accordions, menus, etc..)

Hi, I’ve set this up, however i’ve a top bar above main menu which has a menu also.. it putting the hamburger menu in both topbar and main menu area.. Is it possibly to just have this show in one menu not all of them? Thanks Pete

1. Actually it’s possible to make it bigger and adding prefix & suffix not possible at this time but you need to change some classes for the icon size:

Open the wp-content/plugins/overlay-menu/assets/css/frontend.css and find line 14 and change font size below:

2. Can you sent your website URL? I want/need to check it? If I’m not wrong you have two drop-down menu and when activated the plugin hamburger icon affected both menus right? But you need one of them right?

I need to know menu names & locations for example all theme using primary for default but I don’t know what using your enfold theme. I’ll only define your theme main menu in plugin. This process needs to fixing appear both menu. By the way maybe I can put this an option in the plugin settings.

We are working on defining Overlay Menu icon to menu locations but it will get a bit more time. You can simply use this simple solution:

#top .sub_menu .twp-olmenu-btn {
    display: none;
}

Add this to your style.css. It’ll not display your top header anymore.

Thanks. I’ve updated the plugin, however menu title still isn’t showing and it’s still popping up in other menu areas beside the main menu. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still same.. any thoughts.. is it possible it’s holding onto the previous install info in the database?

Hey there no it’s not regarding with the DB options. The issue is your theme supported two menu areas at the top and our plugin binds to the top of the menu instead of the main menu.

We are working on menus choosing option but no luck yet.

We’ve not a solution for the two menus on our plugin side but we can intervene in the theme side.

You need to change menu creation order:
