Take a look at my profile. I’ve bought a few things on Envato over the years. If there’s a lightbox script out there – I’ve probably played with it or used it. I stumbled on LC Lightbox when I was Googling something. I looked at the demos and downloaded the free version from Github to give it a spin. Sold. I actually had already coded a lightbox that I like and have been using for years in a project I’m working on.
Took me 20 minutes to make the necessary changes to my code for LC Lightbox. I am delighted. For me – LC Lightbox is hands down the most versatile, easy to customize and beautifully coded * CSS BABY! * lightbox script I have used in the 20 some years I have been doing this crap.
I love this lightbox – especially the ease of placing formatted HTML along side images in the lightbox. Looks stunning. Perfect solution for my current project. You making me look so good. Thank you. That new Superman FAQ Script you got looks pretty slick too. Gonna get me one of those too.
And LCweb – you a patient man! Who all those “smarty-pants” people giving you trouble on this thread?

Is it possible to change the icons? For instance, I would like to use another icon for text. Instead of double quotes. I would like to use a speech bubble.icon or my own transparent png.

Sorry need assistance on changing icons. Thought this was in the CSS and that it was as simple as changing the font awesome id to \f086 but it did not seem to work. Any suggestions.
I use a custom set of icons (a custom font family). If you want to use Font Awesome you need to specify also the font family through CSS

I know you may believe that I know what that means but I don’t. Font Awesome is pretty popular and might be useful for other people and not just me.
Could you explain how someone would do that if that is simple to explain. Is it like referencing a stylesheet for CSS? If so, how? (this might be even something to include in the documentation).

Since I already use my own font that is much much lighter, Font Awesome is surely not a good option. Anyway to use it is easy (supposing you already have Font awesome on your site).

Thank you very much. Yes, my site already uses font awesome. The issue for me is I would like a different icon for the Text Toggle. I prefer a speech bubble because this makes people think of comments. The double quote I feel is for quoting something somebody else said.
This is the main reason for wanting to use font awesome. I might use your “much much lighter” version but I don’t even see what is available. This would be useful for a custom icon set because people may want to see what options they have and not just use the default.
Is lighter because there are only the icons you see, no extra ones

I think there might be a misunderstanding. You asked which function and I replied Text Toggle – which you currently assign the icon “double quotes”.
I am asking to replace that with the “Comments”. I am not asking you to replace the function Comments. You have double quotes for Text Toogle. I know it is a comments icon.
No misunderstanding, but you want to replace the icon with the one universally known for comments interaction. It’s simply conceptually wrong
You say ‘It’s simply conceptually wrong” I would say we have a difference of opinion. Double quotes usually refers to “quoting” text that has been repeated somewhere else.
It’s almost like you forget that one of the features of the script that is highlighted is the ability to “comment” using the expandable data pane. You mention Disqus and Facebook “commenting”. My opinion is this would be appropriate because that data pane allows for “comments interaction”. People may not be aware of that unless they see a comment icon. They might just think there is just more descriptive text. If we took a vote you might be surprised what kind of opinion other people may have about this. Maybe they will be all choose something that is “conceptually wrong” or prefer the double quotes however it will be their freedom to choose which one.

Double quotes are often used for a quotation, then a text. However it is surely the icon I like “less”, but until now I didn’t find a better alternative. As you can see is really easy to change it though, then you can set the one you prefer
Comments are also optional, then the “comment” icon wouldn’t be appropriate for everyone. It’s just a matter of what you prefer or what is more appropriate for your implementation
How will this work with over 1000 high quality pictures? will the site even load? if so how long? I have over 1000 photos that i want to host each is about 20MB.. will this plugin work fluently?

this is a javascript plugin, then works with anything you will assign to the handler
Images are progressively loaded during the view, not onn page’s loading (unless you set so).
I suggest to use a paginated gallery to avoid long.
Doesn’t matter how big they are, is just a matter of optimization.
Do this plugin support album / grouping Gallery popup
Eg. let say I have 4 different product category image and on click of the any each category image I need to show respective product image associated with click category image only?

depends on how you implement it obviously. For example I made it in global gallery ( https://lcweb.it/global-gallery/image-to-gallery ).
You can use the object initialization or have the full code into the page but just keep the first image visible through CSS

It is a jQuery plugin, then can be placed everywhere (my Global Gallery WP plugin uses it for example)
I mean the photos in the article, not just the gallery as shown in the demo.
You can attach it to any element and can show also single images. You need to create the proper markup code for article images obviously

Maybe it is the links in the side panel of a video but when I clicked on a video lightbox there were pop up warnings from my virus software. Maybe your script is good but maybe what you are embedding might not be. Thank you.
Uhm.. one is youtube. Another is Vimeo. The other one is a self-hosted mp4 file.

There’s only a form and the disqus comments block
Maybe you are not aware of this but there are “sponsored” ads above the disqus sections. Some of them are advertising spam. It’s on the video and on the inline html. If you can’t see it maybe it’s because you are logged in to discqus. I don’t know. https://imgur.com/a/SpslJVs

No problem. It wouldn’t be an issue if I had not accidentally clicked on one of them and got this pop up that would not close and an alarm sound and a voice over telling me to contact them to remove a virus on my computer which was fake. They want you to call so they can get into your computer. I’ll just make sure not to click on any links or pop ups accidentally.
Maybe if you just remove disqus or replace it with something else there is less of a change for that to happen. It’s the text box on the right that was causing the issue.

Ok, I understand what you mean about Facebook. Facebook Comments rather then Disqus comments. I got it.
What I would like is to replace Facebook or Disqus with my Video Title, Video Creator name and video description and a button link that would take someone to another site to leave comments and/or other links related to the video. Could I add my own HTML where you have Facebook or Disqus?

Comments are basically appended to the description. Description supports HTML, then you just have to inject the code at the end of the description.

So I went to look for a developer to do this for me. I told him to use videojs to play video. He said “LC lightbox is already using videojs to play videos”
I looked at his example and you use videojs to play videos on a server. I am asking if you can use this for You Tube and Vimeo videos as well. This is my question. You already are familiar with VideoJs because you currently use it in LC Lighbox for raw video files. I want to use it with You Tube and Vimeo. Is that possible?

Yes, and I get an error message. What does this mean? I replaced the html 5 video link with the You Tube link. The message is “No compatible source was found for this media” . I was interested in seeing the same player controls for the HTML Flash Videos.
I believe it is possible to use videojs as the player for You Tube and Vimeo and use videojs controls.

I would like to have the option. I’m sorry, but I find your question puzzling. Don’t you use Videojs yourself? One reason is the several video plugins that can be used with Videojs like changing design of the player controls.

I just tried using an youtube video URL in an HTML video type and, as you tested, it returns an error.
Don’t know if videoJS must be initialized in a differnt manner for youtube. But in any case isn’t the way you should use youtube with my lightbox

My thumbs are having different sizes. Is there any way to display them all with the same size? eg something like a block 100×100 or 120×80 doesn’t matter, and display thumbs in the block like: background-size: cover; ??
Thumbs are set to be all equal. Are you seeing them differently?

tu have them by default you have to change plugin’s code. Otherwise just use the related options, in the end are only 2 code lines: “fs_only” and “thumbs_nav”
