That is not the solution – it will change all my permalinks and that will ruin the structure of my site. It is your plugin that creates a dead link.

Thank you, install worked. I’m struggling to get it to actually sort in order by the ID numbers though. It’s maddening.

I also tried putting a date in the title and sorting that way, but the system doesn’t get those right either. I’m super frustrated with a timeline that I can’t seem to arrange in the right order.

The Menu Order, which you show in the instructions, works and appears to use the ID Field in the post but only for Ascending order (i.e. smallest number first) and doesn’t accept the selection of Descending order (i.e. largest number) at all. Which means to make a timeline that displays items starting with the most recent someone would need to update the ID field for each post every time a new post is added to make the oldest post a very large number and the most recent post the smallest number. Also of note turning the random color selection off actually uses the random colors set in the settings, turning it on uses random colors not shown in the settings. There doesn’t appear to be a functional setting to control the color.

To resonate what someone said earlier. I have one post where I had to put the full text in the Excerpt field because it doesn’t link from the timeline to the posts we create. That one is much longer than the other posts and it’s causing havoc on the timeline below it.

For arrange in the right order.

1. Please set post order number From post Attributes sections . 2. Select order by Menu order .

For Random color option you need to enable Random color checkbox setting .

Arranging: I did that, it doesn’t work in Descending order only in Ascending order (i.e. largest number on bottom)

Random color: Nope, mine is unchecked and random colors are being assigned.

And I just made a new entry to my timeline and it’s all sorts of wrecked due to the length issue.

Really looking forward to the updates / fixes for this. It’s a beautiful plugin, but broken :/

What about the text from the post description, now the only text that shows is the excerpt?

Excerpt text is part of description , we will add this thing in our new version where user can be select content type text like full content description or overview description text in time line.

Next version will be release by next week.
