Heads up! Seems that your demo is broken.
Not on my end.
One issue I have with extra product options… is when the customer edits the form input/options if pictures were uploaded, they lose what was uploaded and Have to reupload. With using this plug-in Add-On if they leave the cart do they lose whatvwas uploaded?? Does this upload accept more than one file at a time? I can’t seem to get the demo to work
This addon doesn’t work like that. It doens’t have anything to do with the products so you can’t use it to add options to the product page. It is only for the order page. While on the the order page the customer can upload a file that will be attached to the order as a Fee, not on any product.
Note that for obvious reasons the upload is disabled on the demo site.
I understand. Usually my custom product someone only orders one item it’s always the same..: so if they left the order page and went pack would the upload remain?
Yes, it will remain.
Anyway to have this displayed in the cart to upload images? Can you provide a screenshot of what this looks like to upload? Single upload or multi file upload?
There isn’t any multi upload, only single upload.
any way I can add a SKU to options?
That isn’t possible I’m afraid.
Hi! Can i show the extra options only to certain products or categories?
This addon displays fees on the checkout page only so, no what you describe isn’t possible. The fees do not connect to any product bu to the order. The main plugin Extra Product Option can help you with that, but that one displays the options only on the product page, not on checkout.
i have a simple product. (so in this product case, I didn’t use Extra Product Options. though I have it.) I want to show in cart an option as “option 2x top up” and its fee, when that simple product added to cart. can I do that with this plugin?
The fees created with thsi plugin are displayed in the checkout page, not the cart and basically it is the same thing as adding any other options. I’m not sure what “option 2x top up” but you can’t connect the fees with anything else.
I see. if I put any option in my TM Extra Product Options, the same options will be shown in cart as well, right? So if I want to show any option in cart, I need to create them via TM Extra Product Option in product page. Correct?
No, this plugin uses a different set of options. You don’t use the ones you have in the TM Extra Product Options plugin, but create new ones. In either case, you cannot show the option to the cart page, only in the checkout page.,
my bad. I keep saying cart instead of checkout. So let’s say I have some enhancements for a product that I want to show in checkout page, and I want that options to be linked to the product. I read that you wrote “In the checkout page the fees cannot be linked to products” comments above. Do you have alternative solutions or plugin (or some code would be added to this plugin) for this kind of request?
It is very simple. Fees are attached to the order, so linking to the product isn’t possible. You can just use the TM Extra Product Options and create the fees from there if you want them to be selected from particular product, they will be displayed in the product page and not the cart. There isn’t any other alterantive I’m afraid.
Can I show the checkout field depending on the user role ? For user with role X different than for user with role Y ?
You can only do that for the forms, not the individual options. eg the form (so all of the fields it contains) can be set to be active depending on the user role
You may have already answered this question, but I’d like to confirm: Does this plugin see the quantity data in Extra Product Options? For example, customer adds10 shirts to order, but in Checkout I’d like to ask if they want to “bag” it (which costs 50 cents each), would this plugin allow me to calculate 50 cents x the quantity of shirts ordered?
No, it doesn’t do that. The option fees which you create with this plugin don’t connect to the products.
Hello, are the checkout fees configurable for each product, or only supports global attributes?
Thanks!
The fees are for the Order and independent of the products.
Hi, i have purchased your plugin and the other. But it not meet my requirements.
I need do display the fields on checkout but for each product in the cart and not as global field.
How can i manage this ?
Please Let me know Thanks
What do you mean mean for each product? With this plugin (extra checkout options) you create Fees for the Order at the checkout regardless of the products.
if in the cart you add 2 or more product it add the extra fields for global checkout.
For example i want to add 2 extra fields, one for product 1 and one for product 2 with different fees.
How can i do ?
The fees you create with this plugin are global, meaning they are not tied to any products. You can use the Extra Product Options plugin and add the fees for those products there, but they will be displayed in the product page, not the checkout. In the checkout page the fees cannot be linked to products.
hi, i have already also extra product options, but we want that must work in the checkout page for multiple products.
Does this plugin works with woo commerce booking
This plugin adds Fees to the order, so it works regardless of any other plugin you may use since it doesn’t interfere in the product process.
Please note, that this is an addon plugin for Extra Product Options.
I have tried product add-on and the fees get add to booking cost but it doesn’t get add to cart price. That’s why I just want to make sure before buying that this plugin work with bookable product
As i told you before this doesn’t attach any price or fee to the products, but to the Order. No matter how many products you have on the cart the fee is for the Order not any product, so it will be added regardless of the product type.
that is very good plugin but it is not clear how it will work with pdf invoice plugin, I am not sure to get the custom field value i have invoice builder all i do is i get the custom field value and it shows that value on invoice for this plugin i am not sure what is that value exactly, all i get is the label name
You shouldn’t have to do anything with the pdf invoice plugins. The options should automatically be displayed in the meta section of the product. If they don’t then the pdf plugin you use isn’t doing something right. You can download from the WordPress repository the WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips plugin to see how it is supposed to be.
i am using all premium plugins from that company, the pro version allows me to add custom meta, and the template visual builder allows me to add custom block using custom field name, with your extra product option the values shows up with no issue, but the checkout fields plugin none is showing up I am not sure why is that the best idea is to be able to have the meta data name or the custom field name none of them working with that plugin
The fields from the Extra Checkout Options should be in the subtotals section of the order since those are plain WooCommerce Fees. The plugin only feeds the data of the Fees to WooCommerce and then WooCommerce displays those fees. The same should be happening with your pdf plugin.
oh i got what you mean, you are a 100% right I just miss understanding the plugin purpose i thought it is custom checkout fields manager to add custom fields values to the order and invoice, but it does not matter it is good plugin when i added value for the price it shows up, the name of the plugin should be changed to Extra Fees Options Checkout, the name Extra Checkout Options made me to think it is field checkout manager if this features is there this would be a better plugin specially the features of visual designing and the simplicity
Can I create a checkout form that drives a formula that’s applied to cart total?
The plugin isn’t really for something like that.
I friend I just have an answer. I need make a select field on Checkout page, when my customer select the option I need add $20 MXN to the final price its possible with this plugin? I need this options because here in Cancun, Mexico we need add an extra shipment price by selected zones, so I need make multiples zones on the select field and then when my customer select their zone add the shipment price.
Yes, you can do something like that. Please note that this will be displayed as a normal fee and will have nothing to do with WooCommerce shipping.
Just started working with this plugin and had an issue with my theme. Contacted themecomplete for help and they helped me right away, and successfully. Thank you!
Is it possible to set a percentage (a set amount like 10%) to a field so that someone can select this and then see the amount that will be donated?
The 10% wouldn’t be added to the total, just noted to the customer how much of the order total will be donated.
I’m afraid no, that isn’t supported.
Okay, thanks
I’m a bit confused as to how to setup a subscription product. I don’t see any documentation abou it. I have a product with 3 radio buttons with different prices. I’d like to have one of them be the subscription option and the others a flat fee. If I need to make a new form item like a checkbox that’s fine.
In order to take subscription product orders, we needed to install the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin. I see the additional options on the product edit screen for simple and variable subscriptions. But, I don’t see these options in your plugin. I do see the option for a Subscription sign up fee so I setup a checkbox using this. But, the price appears next to the option and does not get added to the grand total when checked.
So, how can I make a subscription product that integrates with the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin so we have true subscription products?
Thanks!
You must have posted on the wrong comment section! This is a plugin for adding product Fees to the Order. it has nothing to do with subscriptions.
OMG, I’m so sorry. Please delete this.
Hi, I have successfully added new fields to the Checkout page. The problem is that the width of the Section is set to 100% and is breaking the layout of the page. It is a standard Woo theme (“Storefront”) that has the Checkout page in 2 columns. No matter where I put your field, whether it is before Billing, after, or before or after Order Details, it cause the content in the 2nd column to float beneath your fields. I’ve tried to customize via CSS, but I’m not finding where everything is. How can I fix this?
I will need to see this to suggest a fix. Can you show the product URL or open a support ticket?
Thanks for your response. I feel like an idiot, but I cannot see on your support site how to open a support ticket. All I see are forums. I’d like to be able to respond to you privately.
You can go to http://support.themecomplete.com/forums/forum/extra-checkout-options-addon/ and at the end of the list you post a ticket. On the responses you can click the red checkbox that makes the reply private.
Love your Product Option plugin, so we bought this plugin to add custom options at checkout. Unfortunately we can’t use it yet for our needs.
There are a couple things we would love to see on future updates, in order for us to be able to use the plugin on our site: 1) Add fees based on a percentage % of the cart total. We want customers to select rush options that add 25% or 50% based on cart total. 2) We want different checkout options for different products or categories (because some of our items do not have rush options available and should not see that option)
1) That is actually on our to-do list already.
2) I will see if that is possible but I can’t promise anything for this particular feature.
Thanks for the reply! I’m happy to see that #1 is already on your list. This is exactly what we have been looking for, to add fees as % based on total.
2 is definitely important to us as well, and we can’t use the plugin without this ability. It doesn’t have to be product – different options by category would work too.
Question—on your Product Options plugin we can add fees as a % but it adds it as a % based on a quantity of 1. Our products will be ordered in larger quanities (12 or more). Is there a way for the Product Options plugin to add % fees based on quantity? That would work for us instead of this checkout plugin. If it’s easier.
If you want something based on the product quantity it isn’t a Fee by definition. I mean if you want to multiply that % with the product quantity you shouldn’t use a Fee but the % of the product price type.
all extra options added in checkout page, are included in emails about the order, in invoices, in pdf?
thank you for your time and for your support
Yes, the options work the same way WooCommerce Fees, added in the subtotals section.
thank you for your answer
the texts, included in info order details for each order in emails?
i mean, like your demo, i we add the option for gift warp, with this showing in emails, in order information in woocommerce admin?
thnak you again!
Yes it will show up on the order admin.
at checkout, I have entered the field for uploading proof of payment. When the customer tries to upload successfully but when click ‘place order’, an error message says that the file is not uploaded.
1. Upload file successfully https://i.imgur.com/zO7grEL.png 2. Error Messages https://i.imgur.com/03VBfeE.pnghelp me.
You will need to open a ticket at the support forums at http://support.themecomplete.com/forums/forum/extra-checkout-options-addon/ as i will need some more information to troubleshoot this.
okey
Very impressive and I can see two possible uses for this on projects I am working on – if they are possible:
1) booking dates/times as set by myself or a vendor in a multi-vendor situation.
2) delivery/pickup time based on a range of available open times.
Can these two options be configured by the site admin?
Thanks and great start!
1) I’m not sure what you mean by that, but the plugin can’t be used with vendor plugins.
2) You have to elaborate on that.
In general what you can do with the plugin is basically use the builder mode of the Extra product Options plugin in the checkout with all price types as fees.
