Hello!
Can I create my own dictionary database without an API?
Thank you
Please share Your Skype id, I am Interest for this script
Pre buying question: is it responsive? I was trying to write “school” in the lest site and see the German translation but didn’t find anything. Gives error. Will you please reply? I wanna buy soon.
This is not a translator, it’s a dictionary. So you need to select the language from the top and search a term to get meaning and description. And yes, it’s responsive.

https://scripts.nelliwinne.net/WikitionaryDictionary/?q=Schule&lang=deHi, I don’t see the German language in your demo. German isn’t working?
Hi, script is very good. But there is problem with not latin chars.
If I search something in Czech language with CZECH CHARS Í, Ó, Ž…” there are PHP errors: /* Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /web/htdocs5/jeanyorg/home/www/wiki/index.php on line 27
Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /web/htdocs5/jeanyorg/home/www/wiki/index.php on line 37
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /web/htdocs5/jeanyorg/home/www/wiki/index.php on line 49 */ Can you help me?
I tried installing the plugin but its not working. Can you help?
Hello,
Is it possible to add custom language? I read on other comments the script is working with wikitionary AP.
Thanks and regards, Brenda
Yes, it’s Wikipedia API based script, if Wiktionary supports the language you can. Otherwise no.
Hi, Is this script still working? Should I buy it? I see that it was laste updated 3 years ago.
Yes, it works fine. This demo runs with PHP 7 server.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I have several questions. 1. Do you have any demo or screenshot of backend (admin panel). I would require to change various aspects of front end to make it look like my site’s part. 2. As it has not been updated since last 3 years, can I expect security? 3. How to install this script on my site? 4. Can I expect future updates? 5. I just require English Language. Is it possible to disable other languages and remove language selector option in the search?
Regards
1. There is no backend for this. This is a core PHP script, Just uploading will work since this Wiktionary API is an open API.
The front end is just PHP within HTML Codes. Bootstrap-based front end and not an MVC.
2. There is no security issue with this, MySQL injection is not possible cos there is no database involved, only possible is XSS, that you can check using below link http://cc.nelliwinne.net/WikitionaryDictionary/?q=%3Cscript%3Ealert%28%27a%27%29%3B%3C%2Fscript%3E&lang=enAnyway, I have a small update here in my local, I just updated right now.
3. You can see the installation guide using below link. http://cc.nelliwinne.net/WikitionaryDictionary/documentation/4. Yes, If this API makes some updates, I will update the script. So far the API good to go.
5. Yes, You can easily remove unwanted languages in language array in the configuration file. You can change the HTML code and make a hidden input for “en”.
Great, I will purchase the script soon.
Two more questions. Can we change the logo and footer text? And also, is it possible to insert ad codes on the page?
can use it offline or localhost no internet connection
It should be internet. Hosted service. Because it’s connected to wikitionary.org through http.
Hi, I’m interested in this plugin. Can I use it for more than one dictionary project for a single payment? I’m planning to create, let’s say, three dictionaries and all of them are noncommercial. Thanks.
I see. So in this case I should buy the extended license if I want to use the plugin for more than one dictionary project.
Yes. You’re correct.
Hi, last question. I read on the description, this plugin does not require any database. However, I have a list of dictionary entries as XML file, but there’s some softwares to convert it into SQL too. Can I use it with this plugin?
Or is it the same way as the usual WordPress posts or pages work? I apologise for asking you this question since I am not that good in this field because I am a linguistic student. Thanks.
Yes. There is no database used. For XML think I hope you need a custom solution. I might use it with this interface. Yes.
Well, this is pure PHP based script. Not a big deal. It uses curl commands to connect to Wikipedia API and grabs data directly from them. Once the data came it will directly display them in the interface. No database or files used to store data. Data always gets from Wikitionary.com.
Demo not working..
hi, can i implement it on my existing site? my site built with Laravel..
also I need only English and Arbic. can I make my choice for how many language will display?
1. Yes you can implement to your existing site. 2. There is an array of language list. You can remove unwanted languages.
I wait lot of days for version 3, is really under review?
Sorry My fault. I forgot to update the change log. It’s already there now.
One problem with first letter if Uppercase (automaic for smartphone), 0 results.
It’s normal in a Dictionary. If you type 1st character uppercase, it’s considered as a Proper Noun. Eg. Days of the week, months of the year, name of a person, name of a place etc etc. So WIkitionary is case sensitive.
will it automatically generates words and meaning or at first i have to add all words manually
You do not need to add anything. It will find wikitionary.org database through their api.
Good Luck … GOOD WORK
Thanks.
Great Work! Good Luck With Selling
Thanks
Demo it’s not wotking. When i try to search in Turkish it’s not working… And other languages either
You need to change the language from the language list and search.
hey great job! great great job!
, remember the wikileads version!. hehe
Thank you. appreciate it.
