Hi dikitriki! Yes, there is a shortcode that allows you to embed on any page. You can also set the ‘add to cart’ button under the products to any text you like, so French is definitely possible. Let me know if you have more questions.
Hi, I’m using your plugin and am getting this error when opening the React Modal for the product description. Is this something I can fix on my end.
Warning: react-modal: App element is not defined. Please use `Modal.setAppElement(el)` or set `appElement={el}`. This is needed so screen readers don’t see main content when modal is opened. It is not recommended, but you can opt-out by setting `ariaHideApp={false}`.

I know the demo works, and works really well. My question is, will this work with Shopify TODAY? I thought they no longer allowed outside WP plugins to use the api?

Hi Redrumrunner! The plugin absolutely works today. Shopify discontinued their official plugin, so I built this using their recommended replacement technology. So instead of you having to hook all the code up yourself, you can use WP Shopify to get your store running right away. Let me know if you have any questions!
How do I make the checkout page use my custom Shopify domain instead of checkout.myshopify.com? Also, the pop-up modal page for each of the product is reading the raw html code from the Shopify product page…how do I fix it so that the html tags don’t appear on that pop-up modal window? Is it possible to customize this pop-up modal window? How?Thanks.
Hi 3ga42adcy32! Thanks for bringing these to my attention. When you click on the ‘Buy Now’ button, it should send the customer to https://[yourstore].myshopify.com/cart. If this is not the case, we may need to change a setting in Shopify, which I am happy to look into.
As far as the HTML tags appearing, that seems to be an issue in the plugin. I will send out a fix this weekend to address that. The content should show up just how it looks in your Shopify store, I tried to use a very plain modal so the content would stand out. Let me know if I answered your questions, I am happy to explain further.
Also, I understand if you prefer not to share, but if you could share the link to your wordpress site here I might be able to figure out why the checkout is going to checkout.myshopify.com
Well, when I click on the checkout button, I can see in the address bar of the pop-up checkout page the url of my myshopify.com but only for a split second and then it changes to checkout.myshopify .com. Just to test, I also tried to do a checkout directly from my custom shopify domain (not through the plugin) but the checkout page maintained my custom domain during the checkout process. Shopify has automatically enabled this feature last year so I don’t think there is a setting in Shopify that we can set other than setting it as your primary domain which is already set of course. Again, to be clear, what we should see in the checkout page is not “https://mystore.myshopify.com” neither “https://checkout.myshopify.com”, it should be my custom domain (e.g. https://estore.mycustomdomain.com)...which is the one I put it in the store URL field in the plugin settings.
I just wanted to ask this also, are we using the latest JS script (buybutton.js) for the Buy Button in the plugin? It might be the one causing it to use checkout.myshopify.com.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood. If you are using the ‘Buy Now’ button (in-page checkout), the checkout button will always open a modal to the myshopify URL and then redirect to https://checkout.shopify.com. I did not have the latest buybutton.js (will include in the weekend update) but even when I upgraded it still redirects to https://checkout.shopify.com. This behavior is definitely set by Shopify, but I can reach out to their support team to see if it is customizable.
Ok, now I am a bit confused. If I won’t be using the Buy Button in your plugin, how else can the buyer buy and checkout the products I have listed using the WP-Shopify plugin?
If you have the buy now API key entered, it will use the in-page checkout (like in my demo site). If not, clicking the button below the products will take the customer directly to a Shopify checkout page, instead of adding the product with the WordPress site. Does that make sense?

And that takes me to another question, actually more of a suggestion. I noticed there is not a “reset” settings feature for the plugin where we can easily reset everything for the plugin like it is a newly installed plugin.
Once the Buy Button token is set, there is no way to change it unless you go to the backend mysql table. When I first installed the plugin, I screwed up the token value and quickly clicked on the save button. I was not able to correct it until I went to the mysql table. Or did I just miss where it is?
So if I understand you correctly, if I don’t put any token value for the Buy Button settings, I might be able to see my custom domain on the checkout page?

And yes, if you remove the in-page checkout it should use your custom domain. The checkout link is pulled directly using the Shopify API, so I would assume they use your custom domain.
Ok, I wanna make sure we are still referencing the same thing here. When you say “if you remove the in-page checkout”, are you referring to a setting in Shopify or a setting in your WP Shopify plugin? Because I am not seeing that anywhere in your WP Shopify plugin setting dashboard.
Also, I just removed the Buy Button token to test what you said earlier is working, the “Add to Cart” button on the wordpress page from your plugin is gone and there is no way the buyer can buy and checkout the products I have on it.
It is a setting in the WP Shopify Plugin. As you noticed, there is no way to reset it in the settings, so, for now, you will have to remove it in the MySQL database (I’ll add a reset button to fix this weekend).
My first guess is that the plugin is trying to load the buy now button because the record was not completely erased in the database, and this is causing an error that makes the buttons not load. If you want to email me your WordPress page that is using WP Shopify I can dig in a bit more. Otherwise, you can wait until I send out the update this weekend to see if that fixes your issue.
I see what you are saying now that I have reinstalled the plugin and I did not put the token for the buy button.I think it will be annoying to the buyer if we don’t enable the buy button because they would have to switch back and forth if they are buying multiple products. Hi Garviand…I see that you have made the updates but not sure what those are. I’ve re-downloaded the plugin and the only thing I see is the fix for the product pop-up overlay. Is that the update you made so far? I think it would help if you keep an update change log for this product. Thanks.
Great point, I will start a change log. This update included a fix to the overlay popup and added support for editing/removing the ‘Buy Now’ access token. I wasn’t able to update the custom URL on in-page checkout (I don’t think it is possible at this time), but I am always open to feature suggestions. Thanks!

Hi stephenakintayo! It seems that your site does not have an ssl certificate yet, so you cannot access it from ‘https://'. When I go to the link http://shopify.imapostle.com/?page_id=752432, I can see the products (notice http:// vs https://). If you want I can send links to vendors that sell ssl certificates. Let me know if you are still having issues.
While you are waiting to get a certificate, or if you don’t plan on getting one, you can try the following:
Go to your Wordpress dashboard, click on settings and change your ‘Site Address (URL)’ and ‘WordPress Address (URL)’ settings to: http://shopify.imapostle.com
One note – Shopify may require an SSL certificate (https://) to allow checkout.
This site offers free SSL certificates: https://letsencrypt.org/
but i have ssl installed on my website..ok..no problem.let me use a domain that does not have ssl and test
Ok. One thing to consider is that SSL applies to subdomains as well. When I access your site at https://imapostle.com it shows the SSL certificate, but https://shopify.imapostle.com does not

Hello, after all settings have been configured, is there a shortcode to embed the products on any page?
There is not currently shortcode functionality, but we will look into adding it to an update in the near future. For now, pages are automatically generated based on the URL you choose in settings.
@juanberas, I added support for shortcodes into an update, you will be notified when the update is reviewed and available. Once downloaded, you will need to deactivate and delete the WP Shopify plugin before installing the updated version. This will not delete the pages/settings that you have created so far. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi wanted! The in-page popup is optional. If you want, the ‘Add to Cart’ button can send the customer right to a checkout page in your Shopify store.
