Hi, I just purchased this yesterday and noticed some more bugs that need to be fixed right away.
- you cannot add submenus at all. This function is totally broken. I click on the menu item in the dialog box, but it doesn’t do anything. The form doesn’t submit and the buttons seem like dummy buttons.
- upon a fresh install, there was a php error for the due to the modern slider plugin. The error was due to the unserialize function in the main.php e-file. I only noticed this on the homepage.
- I get an error for headers already sent and it fails, when clicking the load more ajax button to load more products in the listings.
- when picking a category for products and also when making a new child category, it’s difficult to know what category you might be picking due to them being shown in an unorganized list in the drop-down. It makes more sense to lost those in a tree list so that you can see the structure of categories. In my situation, I have a men’s category and a women’s. Each of those have their own pants child category named “pants”. So since the list shows everything unstructured it’s very difficult for me to know which one is which.
- the way you have the categories setup, the URLs only show the category of the one you’re on, but does not include the parents in the URL. I believe this is causing a conflict when saving products with same category names but if different parents. It’s also better to show the parents in the URL so you can see the drill down of each thing. So for example, in my point above, if you clicked a child category with the same name as another category, it doesn’t work correctly and products don’t show correctly in the listings. Should be like ../mens/shirts/ and ../womens/shirts/(product name here if on detail page)

Another bug was when using the “sort by” option in the products listings page. That also created the “headers already sent” error.
All the list has been fixed unless the URL it couldn’t be done because this need changes with the routing system

Excellent work! I’m hoping to use this solution, however a few things would need to be included/corrected first.
- There needs to be a solution for taxes. Taxes need to be setup, and properly configurable depending on location. Basically there needs to be a configuration for tax rules. Ex. In the USA, California specifically, we don’t have to collect tax on sales occurring outside of the state, but do need to collect on any coming from within. This is based on shipping destination of customer.
- there needs to be shipping rules/restrictions. We offer free shipping inside the country, but charge for international. That’s just my scenario, but it would be helpful to be able to configure that. Also restricting shipping to only selected countries would be great too.
- allow guest shopping by not requiring a customer to create an account before they add something to the cart, and also allowing them to complete their purchase without creating an account, although offering the option at checkout would still be nice.
- adding items to cart via the listings page nicely updates the cart, but if you go to the individual product’s page to add it from there, it doesn’t seem like the ajax is working to update that at all.
- user accounts need billing/shipping info in the forms to pre-populate forms when checking out as a returning customer, assuming they’re logged in. I think this is more important than profile pics and their about info, and social info, of which I don’t see any of those necessary to their account.
- products with options should require the available options to be selected first before allowing it to be added it to cart. Right now you can add those products to the cart without needing to select an option first, and that will cause issues. Doing so would correct the following issue
- When I added a product with an option, example a watch with the color blue option, it adds then to the cart as separate items. It would be better and less confusing if they were combined into one cart item.
- when adding products to the cart, they add as individual items, instead of combining and just reflecting the quantity of each in the quantity adjuster.
- if customer cancels checkout process at PayPal step and they’re redirected back to the site, it shows an empty cart. I understand that it’s saved to their orders in their account page, but a customer might not understand and decide to abandon the entire purchase.
- there’s no coupons/discount code option
This is really close and I hope that you’re able to update with these very soon so I can choose this as my option. Best!

Just gone through with the demo and seen many times server goes down, might be the code is the issue behind this that makes loads on server.

ps – not angry at all, just looking for a flexible PHP cart – but had to look at JScript etc to find what I was looking for – all php carts seem to be stuck in the stone age where it comes to responsive design.

Looking at the admin – you have no currency options nor exchanges or local TAX options.
What about shipping costs, the weight of the item/ size etc – would be useful for logistics (I don’t need it, making an observation).
But, like the look of it, it seems easy to use. So for the speed of use, and if you’re going to be hands-on with development, may just give it a go.
