Hi,
I was able to get the smart menu running locally, but when I got to integrate with my solution I receive an error that smartmenu is not a function on the following line:
api = jQuery(".smartmenu").smartMenu({
responsive:"switch-margin"
});
It’s a Sharepoint solution and I believe I need to pull in the JavaScript code into my solution. Is there a section of jquery.smartmenu.js that I can pull in directly? I’m only using modern browsers and don’t really need the animations right now.
Thanks,
Brendon
I think, there’s a wrong path issue. Please, check smartmenu js path.
Hi – i am interested in purchasing your plugin – can your plugin allow me to recreate a mega menu in this style https://www.johnslots.com/en/ ?
It is a Jquery, CSS menu. You can add your own styles to it.
Hello, I am installing your Mega Menu on my site but am not being able to make the drop-down items appear on a single line and I need your help.
1. Please go to http://www.deguate.com/artman/publish/hombre-en-forma/alimentos-para-aumentar-la-masa-muscular.shtml
2. Take the mouse pointer over “SMS”, you will see the drop-down menu expand with 3 options. However, the 3 options appear in 7 lines instead of just 3 lines. They should appear like this (each on a single line):
Mensajes a Claro Mensajes a Tigo Mensajes a Movistar
I am having the same problem on other drop-downs but if you tell me how to fix this one I’m sure I can fix the others.
Thank you…
I couldn’t see an issue.
You can change each submenu width by sm-size option.
Hi, Now I’m having many problems caused by interference of your css in css of the website. What do you sugest to segregate your menu style? Thanks
You need to solve it by yourself. Because, I didn’t use Google search before.
What kind of support is this? I really do not believe. You do not even bother to read what we ask.
You can play with CSS file to modify its style.
Hi. Thank you for the answer about CSE Google. It’s working fine, now! I have another simple question. How to set the menu to vertical design? Thanks in advance. Jose
Sorry! I didn’t add Google search before.
Did you read that I wrote? Forget Google search.
You can add a menu variable to make it vertical. Go to line 44 in deploy/index.html and add position:left:
$(document).ready(function() {
api = $(".smartmenu").smartMenu({
responsive:"switch-margin",
position:"left"
});
});
Dear Friend, I’ve just bought your great Mega Menu and I have a doubt that I believe you can easily help me. How can I put my Google CSE to work correctly in the exact place in the menu? Thank you in advance. Jose
I didn’t try it. But, you can put it in the “sm-search” field.
Hi. I am new. I am going to buy your source code but i have wondering if i could customize well using PHP/Ajax for Dynamical “mega menu”.
such as: http://talkerscode.com/webtricks/dynamic-dropdown-menu-using-jquery-ajax-php-and-mysql.phpI think it will not be so hard to customize but what do you think?
It’s not too hard to make the menu dynamic with your own PHP codes. All required HTML codes listed in the deploy/index.html file.
Thank you for your early reply ! I’ll try.
Thanks!
Please find html code on index.php at’
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ao63sohgpytbj7/site_coddametais.com.br-2017?dl=0I couldn’t extract it. Can you write me a working demo url and which browser generates that error?
I need a working url.
I changed “sm-size” to “data-sm-size” and checked by W3 validator. I uploaded it again. You’ll be notified by mail when it’s approved.
I am having an issue with the menu dropdowns going behind a wowslider gallery. Please advise. Thanks as always for your assistance!
Link to site page with gallery at top: https://eiwd-tester.work/presbyteryofsa-test/teens-4-christ.htmlChange #wowslider-container4 z-index from 90 to 1 in style.css.
Thanks much that fixed it!
Ok!
Need help with

It does not validate.
“Error: Attribute sm-size not allowed on element ul at this point.
From line 12, column 1; to line 12, column 18
- ↩”
Please help?
It is a css class. Can you write a test url and where you added it?
I changed “sm-size” to “data-sm-size” and checked by W3 validator. I uploaded it again. You’ll be notified by mail when it’s approved.
I updated it. Please, download it again after you got the update mail.
Just bought/downloaded SmartMenu – Responsive jQuery Mega Menu from envato. I can’t get it to upload as is to wordpress plugins. What needs to be done, IE I’m a novice in this area so expect I’m doing something wrong. Have though bought items and had no trouble uploading them to wordpress.
So this is not a plugin that can be uploaded to wordpress. This is css/ js so I build the plugin. Might have been good to advertise that you need to be a web designer before I bought the item.
I advertised it good. Please, read its title description carefully. I don’t know where you read WordPress!
Go to the last menu item Missions, then scroll to the last item in that list and you will see what I mean. It happens as soon as you mouse over the Missions item on the Hamburger Menu. The rest is working fine so far, just that this part is giving me an issue and I’m not sure how to resolve it.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide on this.
I couldn’t see an issue on the menu. “Missions” menu item works properly.
You can see what I mean in this screenshot. I’m using Chrome in case it may be a browser specific issue. https://eiwd-tester.work/screenshot-holder/misc/smartmenu-dropdown-issue1.png
Can you check it on a real mobile device? Chrome iPad view generates that view. But, there’s no issue the menu in real.
On Chrome in both my ipad in Portrait view this happens, in wide screen view it doesn’t use the hamburger menu so it is ok there. It also happens on my Samsung Galaxy S8 when viewed in portrait and wide positions.
There is a CSS style issue on your site. You need to check it by yourself. Because, I couldn’t find which style does it.
You can check my demo: http://www.athenadesignstudio.com/plugins/smartmenu/There isn’t an issue like your site did.
I’ve no idea what part of the CSS was doing it, but what I did do is change the width of the content area when it hits tablet size so that it’s full width and that fixed it. Apparently your menu doesn’t like it when you don’t have a full width content area. Granted, it’s most likely a CSS error on my end somewhere that caused it, but it’s not doing it now so I’ll worry about finding that later. Thanks anyways.
I tried to find the CSS style on your site doing it. But, couldn’t find. Sorry!
What do I get if I purchase your product? Is it the source-code? Because I would probably have to customize it
Yes. It includes source code. You can customize it as you want.
Hello, I’m a little confused: one person asks how to center the menu, and you answer that he has to set the menu to 100%, otherwise the menu will be positioned to left.
However, on your demo page, the menu is centered and doesn’t occupy 100% of the page! I would like to setup my menu exactly as you have it on your demo.
Can you send me your site files to set up the menu? Or, at least a demo url.
Sure, thank you. How do I send them to you?
Please, write me a private message with the dropbox download link and explain the issue to resolve.
Ok, since I couldn’t find a way to send you a private message I’ll explain here.
I’m pretty sure it’s related to CSS, but I don’t know why SmatMenu doesn’t work via includes, which has never been a problem for me with other menus.
I need to insert the menu on my site, which uses several templates. I currently insert via includes. Some of the templates are SHTML files where I would use something like this:
<!-#include virtual=”/menu/smartmenu/index.html” ->
While other templates are PHP files where I would use something like this:
<?php include $_SERVER[‘DOCUMENT_ROOT’].”/menu/smartmenu/index.html”; ?>
In the SHTML case, I was able to make the menu appear on the page by adding the script html code on the page itself instead of it being called within the include. This way it didn’t mess up the rest of the page, but the menu 1) doesn’t appear centered 2) isn’t wide enough (should be a maximum of 1220 pixels wide as the rest of the site) 3) the hover effects don’t work and 4) appears a little bit too low. You can see what I mean here:
http://www.deguate.com/artman/publish/hombre-en-forma/alimentos-para-aumentar-la-masa-muscular.shtmlIn the PHP case, calling the menu via include without any changes gives an internal server error, and when I remove the html script portion to place it on the php template, it 1) takes too long to appear on the page; 2) doesn’t appear centered; 3) isn’t wide enough (should be a maximum of 1220 pixels wide as the rest of the site); 4) the menu colors are messed up; and 5) appears a little bit too low. You can see what I mean here:
http://www.deguate.com/legal/pages/constitucional/el-estado/formacion.phpYou need to upload all files in deploy folder to smartmenu folder in your template.
That’s what I did, and the menu works ALONE, as you can see here:
http://www.deguate.com/menu/smartmenu/index.htmlThe problem is it doesn’t work when I insert it into my templates.
Please read help file. It is written there which files to include in your template.
Send me a PM. I will reply you there to get your template files. But, remember that it’s your business exactly to do.
I would like to send you a pm, but I see NO pm links. Please send me the link to pm.
Email form…
Hello, I sent you a message via the support link but haven’t received an answer. I was able to get the menu working centered on my site, but the drop down items appear in more than one line and I wasn’t able to change the width of the drop down. Please help. Thank you.
Can you send an email to athenastudio87@hotmail.com by writing the item name and issue?
I see people comments talking about WordPress plugins or compatibilities… Even if is not a WordPress Plugin you can use this menu inserting this code inside where you want to display it!!!
It’s only a HTML+CSS+jQuery piece of code, you can use it wherever you want! (Wordpress, Joomla, static website, etc.)
Yes. If you know how to code, you can make it available on WP, Joomla, etc… But, there’s no a WP plugin version right now. I’ll try to do it soon.
hello,
first of all very nice work for your menu.
Now my question ! I would like to add 2 items on the right of my smartmenu, but I don’t want the hilight when I pass my mouse hover it.
I tried to overright the .hover context but did not success
How can I remove for these 2 items only the highlight while mouse pass over it ?
Thank you,
Park
Can you send me a demo url?
Hi, I’m trying to make two nav menus for my site, a horizontal and vertical; I’ve tried changing the menu class name from .smartmenu to something else to give the menus unique identifiers, but that doesn’t seem to work…
Please, try to give different ids instead of hacking CSS. Because, menu uses JS codes, too.
From what class do I add the width declaration in order to make the menu center? From this?:
.smartmenu { position:relative; display:inline-block; padding:0; margin:auto; width:100%; }
I didn’t try it. I made the menu width:100% only. You need to do it by yourself.
I’m having difficulty getting the Menu to center in the page (right now it is positioned left.) Any suggestions?
Here’s a link to our production server where the page is…it’s at the top.
Thanks so much!
Jimi Hammond
You need to set its width to 100%. It will positioned from the left if you don’t write a custom CSS.
Hello,
I am trying to adjust the width of the dropdown submenu’s as the sm-size=”200” is just too narrow for what my client needs. I’ve tried everything, but although I can get the size to change, I cannot get the text to move to the left and cannot find any settings in any of the CSS that is controlling that. I’ve tried adding a minus margin to move it over to the left, but of course that just makes the highlight background color sit in the wrong spot as that doesn’t move over with it.
Please help me to find where to adjust the size of the submenu width or adjust the text position so that the background highlight color will go with it. Please let me know if you need more information than this. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Jo
sm-size changing works properly on Flyout menu type and texts are aligned to left.
I think, there’s an extra CSS not allowing you to change them. If you send me a demo url as PM, I can test it better.
There’s no issue in sm-size. Add the following CSS into your site style.css to remove padding from ul tags of SmartMenu:
.smartmenu ul {padding:0 !important;}
Thank you so much! That fixed it and phew after dozens of menus tested it seems we finally found one that works well!
Ok!
