Yes, it’s compatible with BuddyPress, however it will not show up in BuddyPress comment only at Wordpress comment.

Thank you for your inquiry, yes it won’t change the look of the comment UI as this is based on your WP Theme, it will only add the upload photo icon and oembed support.

1. The plugin only allow upload of a single image at a time.
2. It willl work on custom post as long as there’s Wordpress comment enabled.
3. Yes, it will work with all WP Themes.
4. It will follow your WP / server upload max size settings
5. Yes, you can set the thumbnail size via admin settings page
6. Video urls in the comment will be converted into video preview but not image thumbnail.

Hi there, can you please place info about “changelog” or “version” on your profile page here. I have version 1.0 – not sure if it’s the latest one.
Also can you fix the button > camera icon? It’s annoyingly dumb.
When you hover over an icon (using mouse) – you can see that curson: pointer. However the pointer shows up only at the bottom of an icon, if you place the cursor inside the icon or on top > it will change to a regular one. In other words when I move my mouse over the icon I see constant changes of the cursor – that’s dumb.
Annoying part is that once the cursor is changed to pointer (ex. bottom side of an icon) > when clicked nothing happens. I thought it was the theme > I went to your “live version” you have the same issue. Kindly fix it. Or better yet make a button out of icon. Barely visible.

Thank you for your inquiry, the video size is responsive and depends on the Wordpress theme comment width size. As you can see at the demo site here, if you resize the browser width, the video will adjust its size responsively. You can use CSS override to make the comment width section bigger or consult your theme provider.

Just one more question. when I add a picture,I have to write something in my comment box otherwise I will get a popup message ” please fill out this field.” Is it possible to skip this so that I can add an image without any text? When I post a video from YouTube. This is okay, no need to write anything.

That’s great, that message “please fill out this field” is coming from Wordpress which is out of our control. If they detect there’s no message it will prompt this message as the image is just an attachment. Video is different as it has embed code which is part of the content.

Is there a lightbox that comes with this? I saw one in your demo, but don’t see one in the code. It’s fine if there isn’t. As a matter of fact I prefer there isn’t because we use our own.
Loading all of Font Awesome seems a bit excessive for one camera icon. Plus lots of themes already use it. You may want to include an option to not load it in the future if they already have it. ( I just removed lines 16 – 18 from the plugin.php).
You may also want to consider adding an option to remove the “-tn” from gif files so they remain animated. Maybe use some css to resize them instead.
A file size limit would also be a good addition.
All that aside, it’s a nice small plugin that does what is needed without the bloat I see in so many others. Good job.

1. The plugin can only be used at Wordpress Comment section only
2. You can set this via WP Admin > Settings > Discussion which you can set whether it requires approval or not
3) Yes, you can edit the labels of the plugin which is the Tool Tip. The other labels are from Wordpress, you can use multi language plugin such as WPML, etc to translate your website
