Pre-Purchase Question.
Are you able to describe how this plugin is different from Umbraco’s own Form plugin?
Does your plugin have any more advantages or limitation etc…?
Thanks
Hi. Last time I checked we couldn’t have a contact form in Umbraco, at least not shipped out-of-the-box and free. Umbraco forms is a thing but it’s paid. My plugin allows you to have a fully customizable contact form that you can develop on and build (if you choose to do so) or just use as-is. This in and off itself I would say is a big advantage. On top of that, it has typical fields and their validation mechanisms in place, as well as integration with bootstrap. It’s also very easy to setup. A user suggested me to include captcha but I haven’t been able to just yet.
Thank you for your prompt response … Yes I’m aware of Umbraco’s paid form, I’m just weighing out the differences. Does your plugin allow for workflows and storing user data in a database etc?
Yes, the captcha is very important too.
the plugin is very straight-forward. you want to send a message from someone to someone else. it does just that. anything else needs to be developed on top of it. if you want something cheap that does the job, this is the solution, otherwise, if you need something more robust and scalable that has all those capabilities built-in, than you should go a different way. you should be able to access the same code base from this plugin to accomplish anything you want, but I don’t know much about umbraco forms, so if they have any built-in worklfow or database stuff, say, from the UI, then you should definitely go for that. so basically, this is a one-off, turn-key contact form solution at a cheap price
Thank you for clarifying that … Very much appreciated.
If any feedback I would give … Yes +1 for the captcha (Google reCaptcha), another process, is probably get the Umbraco Form yourself, make a comparison and build something even better … with that, even if you bump up the price, it’ll still be a success from my point of view. Unless if you just want to keep it as a starter plugin – then that’s a different story.
Thank you again and great work!
thanks, appreciate the feedback. definitely have to give these a try
Hi I want to use this on my current project, I want to know whether this plugin will work with my current theme in the current document type
the plugin was made generic enough to make it smoothly integrated with any existing website. the html is fairly clean and bootstrap compatible. you can also customize the html and css easily if you have a highly customized frontend. hope this helps.
I am completely new to Umbraco and I want to integrate the simple contact form with name email and comment fields in it, so will I get support to integrate this in to my website, if I get stuck anywhere
and I will be able to retain my design and css without any conflicts right?
each design is different. I can’t say that it will perfectly adapt to each and every design out there, but it should integrate with very little effort. I also provide documentation to help understanding the process step-by-step. and yes, if you have any issues, I can provide support.
ok I am running Umbraco 7 and here is my screenshot its a fairly simple design and I am using bootstrap on this and one last question will I get the email submisions on any email which I configure?
can’t see the screen shot. all email settings are setup in the web.config file. you’ll just have to know the smtp server configuration.
ok then I will buy your plugin and let see how it goes, I hope you will provide the support when I am stuck
feel free to use the contact form if you need any help.
