Hi, I seem to be having sam issue as above. I have set up everything, when i upload an image to test it loads and then goes to photo contest page with no photos showing, then i go to media library i see the picture uploaded even if i cant also see the image i see the name of the image there. How can we fix this.

Hi Alfinator. Just bought your product and installed it into a new site but having issues getting it to work. It seems the site “hangs” on photo upload even though i can see the photo appearing in the media. Have uploads set to 777. Could you have a look? Can send you details. We are on 4.3.1

Hi, I have a had an issue with when I activated the photo, It shows up as having 7 votes and 48 views, when it hasn’t been live yet. When the new release came out, the contest was already underway, so I didn’t upgrade to new version. I’m using 1.4 version. Where in the database table can I fix this – it only happened once. and what is the column heading? thanks
It is not a issue.. Not activated image can be seen in “Your Image” section and allow to user share image before you officialy activate the image. So User can immediately share uploadet photo. It is better for you (as organizer) when user can share image right away. When you activated image this image is in a official gallery. So it is not problem it si calcul by me and belive me it is better. Sometimes contest organizer can forget activate image and user can not share own image and lost interest for the contest (i hope you understand). So this is why i do this so.
I did find it and fixed it in database. Looking forward to working with the new version for next contest. Thanks for moving forward with additional features! Have a great day!

WordPress 4.3.1 – I also have test it on a other side from me with WP 4.0.8 – it is the same error!
wp_generate_attachment_metadata() that is not function created by me. That is function created by wordpress https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_generate_attachment_metadata . But your Wordpress does not see this common function. Only what can be problem is that you have wrong absolute path so image.php (where this function is) is not open….. I will send you an e-mail

We want to increase the votes ourselves using our own backend system (basically text voting).
So we would want to disable all fronted voting.

Wel it is possible just remove voting button and turn off sorting images by voting (in gallery). If you want i do this change for you

it can be done so, that vote button can see only admins or editors or another wordpress role or two roles together etc.
I need to do the voting programmatically with no manual intervention. So a text message comes in and our system increases the vote.

Just curious if you have ever had anyone seem to be able to hack or manipulate the votes? Had someone upload a photo yesterday and already has 5700 votes, seems a bit odd. Anyway, please let me know.
It is add, but in contest world normal. 99,5% people are awesome but 0,5% are anusholes . Just give rule that you (organizer) can stop any suspect activity and can delete any image from the contest. I have this rule ALWAYS on my contests. No problem! You are organizer you do the rules right?
Yeah I saw that but they win a pretty huge vacation so we want to make sure there isnt some sort of loophole or if they could possibly pay fiverr or something to get more votes.

Hi I have 2 questions – One is addressed repeatedly here with no solution – image rotation – I understand it is handled from the WP media library, but uploaded images through the contest are not editable in Media Library, so they cannot be rotated correctly – I do know that this is an issue with how the picture is taken – vertically or horizontally with the image capture device(phone, camera) but there does need to be a way to rotate it before you approve it.
There are some grammatical errors I can’t find where to fix like the Upload file size with the comma instead of a period.
Comments on Plugin Overall Tried a few theme frameworks and found very little compatibility with modern theme structures. Uploads wouldn’t work when I used a few of my premium themes. Reverted to a child theme of “twenty twelve” as in your demo. But still having trouble getting it to look that good! Lack of email notification for photos awaiting approval/uploads to admin is a huge disadvantage. Overall it is a very nice and easy to use plugin! Look forward to updates.
Any help or direction on minor grammar changes and image rotation problem would be appreciated.
Hi. Thx. 1.i look what is wrong. 2. Grammatical errors comma instead of a period – I am from Europe. We use coma like this. I can use a period for US/Canada but then will be period wrong in another countries. Compactibility with themes – its dificult to create compactibility with thousands themes. I try my plugin on 30 themes before release. What can i do more? Email notification is added in new version (will be in few days available)

RESPONSIVE: I saw your demo was “twenty-twelve” theme and used child theme of that. BUT – yours scales the gallery down on browser resize and mine doesn’t. Any idea why?
I do not know… But i fix metadata for media lilbrary so i think that problem with rotation edit will be fixed.
Not adding the contest-width fixed my scaling issue.
RE: the start and end times – I see it’s using js date picker how do I know what time in hours and minutes it starts? Thanks again for quick responses.

1.It is not possible set the time. 2.Just use some countdown wordpress plugin.
Where does it get the hour countdown from? Is it using the time you save your start and end settings in a contest for its reference point? Could it be changed in the database? How hard would it be to add minutes to that?(where would I find that reference in code?)

I need Contest Plugin for my site but can’t understand from documentation one thing. Can I make different contests from time to time with your Plugin? For example by one contest every mount. I see only one shortcode [contest-page] without any ID. Does it mean that I need delete all previous images from media library by hand before starting all new contests? Have I understood right that your Plugin is implied making only one contest at all?
Yes an No. You can create contest every mounth and you must reset old contest before you start another one. But do not worry Images stays in media library. So you can do unlimited contest but only one at the time.

How can we enable a sorting or a way to find a user’s entry if we have thousands of entries. Right now, when we go to “Entries” we see a list, however it is taking us a LONG time trying to sift through all the entries in order to approve or update and entry. If we could sort by column or do a search for a user, that would be SUPER beneficial! Any easy way we can add this function?
No. I will try to add new option for sorting (Not Active) to 4 standard sorting options in new update.
How to change language ?

This plugin is interfering with Live Composer. Is there a fix for this? When photo contest is activated, live composer doesn’t function.
I fixed this. I disabled lightbox. I do have another problem though. When I click on the “upload photo” button, the sidebar resizes and moves to the bottom of the page. All the other buttons work fine though.
Yes lightbox is problem i remove Lightbox in next version and add as free lightbox plugin
