Yes, when you exceed the free quota you have to pay Firebase. Please see their pricing plans.
You can use own storage server for file hosting like images but you can’t use own database hosting service.

I’ve been using Firebase. They charging huge amount for database. That free plans not worth for more than 500+ app installs. So I would like to use my own hosting server.
We don’t think so. Probably your database is not optimized well. Daily 500-1000 user can easily handle by free quota.
By the way, If you want to use your own database server then this template is not for you.

1) I noticed that you need to put the image URL when you are uploading item, is there a way to upload to server without adding the URL?

Hi! this app seems really great and what I’m looking for.In the screenshot i see that you can set it as wallpaper through the app so does that mean it is unable to download ? Ive worked hard on my art and I don’t want it downloaded and stolen. So if you can only set as wallpaper through the app that’d be great to know !
So you want to disable the download feature from the app so that no one can download your arts, right?

The admin panel logs me in as tester after i installed windows and tried to log in with my admin password…There is no tester password so why did this happen???
I had to chance my password from fiebase console for some reason, but it’s fixed.
Glad to know that. Yes, you have to use the password from database not the testing password. Best of luck.

Yes, you can change the password from the database anytime you want.
How are the images in the “wall of the day” section chosen?
It randomly takes 5 items from the database every time users open the app.
I’m still getting 600k and even 700k reads every day with only 800 photos and around 400 users a day. How is this even possbile?
It looks like the paging is only in the app really and not linked to the database at all.

And how can you explain the huge number of reads every day with the latest version? Also, I asked you to fix the wallpaper download problem and you it was still there it the latest version. I had to add the .jpeg extension myself.
If you have many users, the reads & writes will be increased. That’s a simple thing. The wallpaper download has no problem as none of our clients complaints about that unlike you and we also didn’t get noticed any problem with that. We already fix this in this latest version. Use the .png version then. Thanks
I am getting the same big number of reads just like before you adding paging to the app. I have the same number of users, even less of them on a daily actually. And yes, I mentioned the wallpapers downloading problem before, reads the comments… Yeah, they don’t complain because most of them didn’t release the app yet and don’t have users to see how many reads the app gets. 400 users daily, 650k reads, 800 wallpapers. Do some math and see that it takes every user to read every Wallpaper twice, this is impossible…
