Is there an option to automatic print when the restaurant has accept order automatically activated?
Automatic printing needs to be turned ON and the dashboard needs to be connected to the local print server. Then when the store owner accepts the order, the order will be automatically printed.
Will this work when the Restaurant has “auto accept” on? So the Restaurant doesn´t have to hit Print?

Auto-accept works on the server, so auto-accept cannot work with auto-print. As for auto-printing, the dashboard needs to be connected to the local printer server of Foodomaa which is connected to your local printer.

This module is working great on a tablet running Windows 10, connected to the Thermal printer via USB.
May I ask…
Will it work if I switched the thermal printer to a model front the list that can connect via Bluetooth?

Suggestion: you can add a word limit or customized item name function so as to shorten the length of receipt. I’ve modified the code simply by adding a line of substr and preg_match to select the part I want to show on receipt. It’s simple and useful!

How many characters for an item name do you think should be the standard to print on the bill?
I limit to 15 characters but I think it varies for different needs so it might be great to add an extra setting option so store owners can adjust it one their own.

hi, very interesting what you are doing with foodomma. there are solutions from printer manufacturers that know the needs of printing in browser-based applications: Star Micronics with its WebPRNT solution can be an alternative for bluetooth printers, the same can happen with other manufacturers

A PHP application cannot connect to a Bluetooth device. We will need a native android app for that.
This module doesn’t intent to sever that purpose.
I think you should create an option to connect with bluetooth/wifi for android , it can connect through android app such as RawBT or ESC POS print service . Mike42 also has already those options : https://github.com/mike42/escpos-php/tree/development/src/Mike42/Escpos/PrintConnectors . Im sure that your sales will increase alot.
Not sure if RawBt will work out of the box as Mike42 has just created the demo based on some user pull request.
Also, RawBt is a paid app, if the free version is used, then it will show RawBt watermark on the invoice. Surely no admin would want that.
I think it will work ok and also for free version of RawBT or ESC POS print service, and most of printer connect to android, they have SDK support. Or if you have a better solution for android devices, that would be great. People are still waiting for it.

We are not sure of that. Also, we have noted it down but it’s not on our high priority list.
Thanks .My suggestion for this moment is , you could create printer option to change print form option for android or ios , when they click print form using (size paper 58mm or 80mm). Now it’s always print with A4 form (using pos printer), which is not for restaurants. So everyone will happy about it.

If we trigger the same old print button function (not the thermal printer module) and modify the functionality to print on 58/80mm. And trigger the same popup thing like on a browser, then on the android printer this will print?
Yes, that is what i mean. We dont see any restaurant using A4 format to print out ticket/bill. So if you could trigger the print button to print out format 58/80mm. That is the best if it is avalable in next update. Thank you

Question:
In the Foodomaa application (without installation the Thermal Printer Module) you get the Print Order button on orders page correct?
So if you visit that page from an Android Thermal Printer, and click on the Print Order/print bill button, does it print? (Obviously the layout will be broken or not of good dimension, but does it Print?)
In this moment (with update 2.5.2 and without thermal printer module) the android printer prints out this : https://prnt.sc/1099sdm . The layout of printed page is for A4 format. I tried to modify the layout to thermal printer format (58/80mm). the print preview was ok, but after i clicked to print , thermal printer prints out the A4 format like this :https://prnt.sc/1099sdm .

I tried other method to change print form by modified the printThis.js and css. This works sometimes, dont know why . But i suggest you to go with bluetooth connection from mike42.
This is halted as the next update is in process. Only after the next update, I will be able to give time to this.

We can connect and print from web online or just local server?
You need the local server application running in the background to access the Thermal Printer from the web.

Hello! I find a bug in this module. In FoodomaaThermalPrinter.php file, line 8 should be “use Mike42\Escpos\PrintConnectors\CupsPrintConnector;” otherwise it cannot funtion on Linux. Another issue is: I want to print Chinese with thermal printer so can I set the encoding format as utf-8 somewhere? Many thanks.

I am confused about working of this module. Kindly tell us little detail: 1- It is mandatory for store owner to have PC in order to print from thermal printer? 2- Can’t they print from mobile? 3- I am unable to find any option to test “Automatic print after order accept”. It is because of trial version? If yes then how can we test the functionality?
