Hi, this plug in seems to be perfect fit for what i need, but before i buy it i want to know if it’s possible to get it to pop up when the client open the site instead of clicking a link, is it possible? thanks!

The css needs to be altered to stop it styling everything on my page and I managed to get the cross to close the pop up to show after I changed
“images/closebtn.png” to ”../images/closebtn.png”
The documentation leaves a lot to be desired too.
Tidy the up the CSS and improve the documentation and this plugin could be great

I actually don’t have a Magento example. But Magento lets you add javascript, css and html markup so there is no reason why this wouldn’t work.
So does this allow for me to have a different video on many different pages, like say for instance a different video per product for 10+ products. OR this allows for embedding 1 video in 1/many locations of the website?
If we can use many videos on many pages, can you send me any user guide or documentation that explains how to use and what it requires to be set up?

Yes, you can add as many videos as you want. I haven’t used it within Magento before but as there is a place to add your javascript it will work. The package comes with an installation guide but it doesn’t specifically refer to magento.

I already had a folder called “images” so I put the necessary images into that folder, assuming it would find them. I’m guessing it’s using a different route to find the images. What file structure did you use or in which file and on what lines does it draw on the images? I can change the routing there. Thanks

Is it possible to make the video pop up onload?
Yes. Its a custom mod. After you buy it, email me and I will send you an updated version that displays a video onload instead of click.
Once I moved the script from my test sheets (text edit) to my working site, the modulnav stopped working.
My web inspector also claims '$(".modalnav").live' within '$(".modalnav").live("click", function(){....}' is not a function. I am using the JS code http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js

This plugin uses live() which was removed from jquery 1.9.1
Is there any alternative solution to your JS so I don’t have to update my jquery code? I have so many other scripts running great with 1.9.1 and fear it may effect some of them.

Thats a little harsh. There is a file in the package called “README.txt”. Its contains instructions on getting started. There is also a demo file that shows you a working example. I hope this helps.

I didn’t think I should have to either, but every time I add the width and height parameter the links would become unresponsive (for the YouTube video anyway). Something I’m missing or doing wrong?

I have just purchased this and I am not able to modify the size of the YouTube videos when the jquery pop up is initialized. In your example file, you have the width/height for the vimeo file set to 900/510. I would like to do this with a YouTube video but modifying your sim.html example file to add these options on the youtube video does nothing. Is this a limitation or something I’m doing wrong?

Hey Brian. It does include a simple how to. There is a file in the package called “README.txt”. Below is an excerpt.
1. Include the latest copy of Jquery in your <head></head> tag. Jquery can be found at ‘http://www.jquery.com'.
2. Include the ‘videopopup.js’ in your <head></head> tag after Jquery.
3. Include the ‘videopopup.css’ in your <head></head>.
4. Make sure the images folder that comes with this plugin is placed in the same directory as the css file. Otherwise, change the image path links accordingly in the ‘videopopup.css’ file.
5. Next, write a JavaScript function that calls the plugin. See example below: $(document).ready(function(){ $(”.video1”).videopopup({ ‘videoid’ : ‘ZAX550biM7c’, ‘videoplayer’ : ‘youtube’, // options – youtube or vimeo ‘autoplay’ : ‘true’// options – true or false }); });
You can either follow those steps, or copy and past from the demo file. Let me know if you have any questions.

I’m having a problem when loading a video on an iPAD or iPhone. When the video pops out, the gray background doesn’t fill the window. how can this be fixed? Also, how can the pop out be told to always be centered?
