How is this better than v1?

Hello,

Thanks for your question on our bread crumbs script. The first version was created years ago, utilizing an older version of jQuery. This new version is a complete rewrite of the script with code optimizations, plus several add-ons. If you are using an older version from ajaxBlender, it will still work as long as there is not a jQuery version conflict. If you have any issues, let us know here in the comments section, or you can hit us on our live chat tool at the w3Blender site. Let us know if we can help.

Thanks,

w3Blender Support

This is exactly what I am looking for but when I change the 1st Top Level from say Home to Tutorial, it doesn’t change. Is that the behaviour or a bug?

I was thinking the functionality is like the jQuery Path Selector Plugin

http://victorherrera.atspace.com/pathSelector.html#demo

Also does it support Ajax calls?

Hello,

xBreadcrumbs works a little differently. It transforms your UL/LI structure into the breadcrumbs with hierarchy.

For the AJAX question, it does not support AJAX calls. But it does have an event where you can execute your AJAX request.

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if there are any other questions.

Thank you,

Hi w3Blender, Congratulations on making a fantastic breadcrumbs menu system. What really stands out to me is not your sub-level drop-down menu implementation (which is very nice) but rather your collapsible mode animation of the breadcrumb.

I imagine there would be a lot of people interested in an animated breadcrumbs plugin for WordPress which would also embed the RDFa metadata for search engines like several of the newer breadcrumb plugins do (such as “RDFa Breadcrumbs” or Yoast’s SEO plugin of which breadcrumbs is a part). You would probably have the best breadcrumb system developed for WordPress with your collapsible animation. Do you have any plans to develop your breadcrumb system into a WordPress plugin?

Warm regards, Darin

Hello,

Thank you for the compliments! We always like to hear when people like our scripts. :)

An xBreadcrumbs plugin for WordPress is currently in development, and should be released some time next month. We’ll include an option to embed RDFa metadata, too. Be sure to check back often for updates!

Awesome, thank you for replying. Will your WordPress plugin support multisite? Warm regards, Darin

Hello,

We will consider adding this on the next update.

Example #3…is there a way to keep the entire text “home” visible …then start the collapsing of the other list items? The word home is cut off.

Hello,

Thank you for your question. You can use CSS to set the width of the element and override the collapsed width. For instance, in the demo, since it has the calls “home” for the first element, you could do the following:

.xbreadcrumbs li a.home {
    width: 34px !important;
}

Note that the key here is adding the ”!important” flag to the width property. This is what allows it to override the collapsed width. You should set the width to fit all of the contents of the element.

We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any further questions or if we can be of assistance in any way.

Thanks for the timely response!

Has the supplied jquery-1.10.2.min.js file been customized? I purchased the all Around Jquery Slide Carousel…it has the following embedded into the file:<script src=”http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js” type=”text/javascript”></script> Am I correct that the supplied file from xbreadcrumbs is different? I am trying to resolve jquery conflicts with a web page that I am building. It uses various jquery versions. It would have been nice if both files could use the same file.

Hello,

Thank you for your question. The jquery-1.10.2.min.js file included with xBreadcrumbs has not been modified, so it should work with the jquery file included with Around Jquery Slide Carousel. We hope that this answers your question, but please let us know if anything needs clarified or if you have any further questions.

Hello, we really like this script and use it only for it’s expanding/collapsing bread crumb functionality. We are finding that it spazzes (opens and closes non stop) out a lot. Essentially, we have 6-7 links in the breadcrumb and if you mouse over the middle or back and forth between a few “crumbs”, sometimes the breadcrumb will just open and close non stop until you move your mouse away. You don’t have to mouse over fast either.

We had thought the “hideSpeed/showSpeed” might affect the collapse but that appears to be made strictly for the drop down menus.

I can’t imagine we are the only ones to encounter this as it happens pretty much all the time.

We thought about making it “click” instead of “hover” but that makes the links unusable in the actual crumb if we want them to be clickable as well.

Any suggestions or patches?

Thanks.

Thank you so much! We can’t wait to give it a whirl!

I just wanted to confirm it is working great now. Thanks so much for the support and additions!

Hello,

Glad to hear the problem is resolved. Thank you for your patience and for helping us make the script better.

Your Script works great!! But only in Joomla- Jreviews it dosn´t work. The Drop Down menu are not show on mouseover.

I´ve found the extension who breaks the code. It was RSFirewall. I deactivated the adminscanner and it works perfekt.

Hello,

Thank you very much for this info. I’m glad it is working for you. Even though all indications is that our script is not the problem, I have still put this into our production process to fully test it to determine if there are any changes we can apply to prevent this from happening in other CMS integrations and/or server environments.

If you like our script please be sure to rate them. We appreciate all feedback :)

Thanks again,

An Joomla Componet or Module for XBreadcrumb would be great, whit some additional configuration options.

HI there

Will this work with this html structure? http://codepen.io/conradr/pen/aJmtv

But I’d like contact, email and post to be nested under home

That doesn’t work as intended. See http://codepen.io/conradr/pen/aJmtv/

I want email, post and contact to be nested under home as dropdowns, but I can’t change the html

Hello,

You can change the HTML using jQuery, before initializing the xBreadcrumbs script. If you would like us to do this, please contact us by email at support@w3blender.com.

Thanks – I’ve emailed you.

I have the plugin installed and it looks great but I have one issue. The final breadcrumb item, indicating the page I am on, has no menu. Is there a way to have the final item show a menu with the items that are at the same level? This was the main reason we wanted a breadcrumb menu and I can’t find a setting to make this happen.

Hello,

The functionality you described is not part of the plugin’s existing features. This can be done, but it would require about 2-3 hours of custom development. If you would like to submit this as a project, feel free to contact us via email at support@w3blender.com.

Hi, great component!

jquery-xbreadcrumbs-3.0.1.js Source code of xBreadcrumbs. This version of the plugin can be used if you would develop functionality on top of the xBreadcrumbs plugin and need to inspect / view source code. For production purposes you should use the minified version of the plugin.

But theare no this file.

I want receive this file. Wold you like to sent it?

Hello,

Sorry, there is a typo in version name. It should be jquery-breadcrumbs-2.0.1.js. This file can be found inside of the “xbreadcrumbs.zip” in xbreadcrumbs/public/js/jquery-xbreadcrumbs-2.0.1.js. We apologize for this inconvenience and have made a note to correct this on the next version release.

Hi,

Nice plugin – many thanks. It is almost fine, except that it shows only 5 items in the dropdown. Can it be made to show all items?

Thank you for choosing our script. You can modify items such as that with edits in the code, but it would require custom coding. Let us know know if you require any assistance.

Hi, I mistakenly purchased the plugin twice (both the jquery AND Wordpress variants) though needed only the Wordpress version so I purchased the licensed immediately thereafter and filed for a refund for the jquery version. I sent a refund request for the jquery version and have not heard back yet. Could you honor my refund? I will be happy to leave good feedback regarding my overall purchasing experience with you.

Thank you!
