Hi, after installing and using WP glossary plugin I found several (repeating) error messages in my server log file:

They all look like: 25.11.2017 01:05:01 pixelpenne.de [client 66.249.66.0] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /mnt/web121/a3/00/58338900/htdocs/pp_main/cms/wp-content/plugins/wp_glossary/includes/class-wpg-linkify.php on line 309

or: 29.11.2017 10:33:34 pixelpenne.de [client 213.23.101.0] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /mnt/web121/a3/00/58338900/htdocs/pp_main/cms/wp-content/plugins/wp_glossary/includes/class-wpg-linkify.php on line 309, referer: https://pixelpenne.de/

Hi there, thanks for purchasing my plugin.

I am already aware with this warning which is a minor conflict with latest PHP version 7.x. I’m going to fix it in next update and meanwhile you can fix it yourself by following these steps:

1. Go to wp-content/plugins/wp_glossary/includes directory

2. Open class-wpg-shortcode-list.php file

3. Search for: ob_start();

4. Add following code snippet just after this searched line:

if( empty( $args ) ) {
    $args = array();
}

5. Once you do it, it should no more show these warnings in error log.

If you don’t know how to work within plugin files then please share your website FTP details with me on my Email ID wpinstinct@gmail.com and I will do it for you. Once you perform these steps, let me know how it goes.

Thanks, WP Insticnt Team

Hi

You have a wonderful plugin here. I like it a lot and it is very useful. I just came to a roadblock when it comes to different categories and Back to Index page. It always goes to the default index page instead of the category where I place the shortcode ID.

I saw a post you replied to about 1month ago, where you have a solution for this. Can you please share that?

I emailed you earlier today and hopefully you can reply to.

Thanks.

Replied to your email. Thanks!

Thank you for the workaround. I left a review.

Thank you so much :)

Hi there,

Thanks for purchasing my plugin. I would be more than happy to help you. Please share your website details with me so that I can check for the reason and fix it. I would require your website’s FTP and Admin access in order to check it. You can email me these details on my Email ID wpinstinct@gmail.com.

Thanks, WP Instinct Team

Hi there,

I bought your plugin today and I can view individual entries, but [wpg_list] doesn’t seem to work.

Page title: Recepturen Glossary title: Recepten Glossary slug: receptuur Glossary archive: unchecked (checked doens’t have any difference) Page ID is corresponding

Any idea what I am missing here?

Replied!

Thank you very much! Plugin is working as expected. Left you a rating as well :-) Have a nice day

Thank you so much for 5 star rating :)

Hi, I just purchased this plugin. It completely crashed the frontend of my site when running php7, works fine under php5.6. I tried the following solution you gave another user, didn’t work. Any suggestions?

Please enable my plugin and switch to PHP 7.x. Next, share your website FTP details with me so that I can fix it quickly. It shouldn’t take me more than 15 minutes to fix this error once you share required details with me. You can email me these details on wpinstinct@gmail.com

Thanks!

Hi, your solution worked perfect and I just wanted to thank you/share it with the community. Thanks again!

“I see your server is missing “mbstring” extension. Its remains there normally for all servers but seems like while you are updating website to PHP 7.x this mbstring extension has been disabled. If you request your hosting support to enable this extension they will do it quickly and plugin will start running fine. This is the error server responses while you update server to PHP 7.x: You need to install the PHP multibyte extension (“mbstring”) as described here.”

Thank you so much :)
