Hey, thx for making offline form available again. Their is another problem, your plugin is making my loading time increase from 2 seconds with admin-ajax.php : https://i.imgur.com/1Ilj1ON.png

Glad you liked offline form again!

LC is working in iframe since 2.6. It means the plugin starts loading itself after everything is fully loaded in your web page including images, styles and script files (not before).

The plugin starts loading with load event.

The load event is fired when a resource and its dependent resources have finished loading. -https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Events/load

As you can see in your screenshot, LC starts loading with loader.js which is the only JS file LC uses is loaded with your webpage and it is less than 1kb (654 Byte).. The rest of the LC files don’t bother your web page load.

Hey, not sure what you are tryng to explain. Does the wait time of 2sec that appear when secreet is enable, is not an issue because the plugin is now in iframe? Or are you saying that the 2 second wait time are not comming from your plugin? Here is more details https://i.imgur.com/QX8EN50.jpg

Thank you for your update.

First of all, 2 seconds is related with your web server performance which is basic AJAX request.

More important thing is that it doesn’t affect your web page load performance. The plugin files are started loading just after your whole website is fully loaded.

LC uses similar technique explained here: https://varvy.com/pagespeed/defer-loading-javascript.html

We suggest you to talk with your web developer or any SEO guy to get more descriptive information.

Currently LC requires WordPress to use. However, we have already moved LC into iframe with 2.6. And the next step is to request it by REST api.

Is it OK for you to use chat console from WordPress admin panel and run chat box anywhere (from your HTML or PHP websites etc.)?

Hi Screets, please check your plugin…it is working fine on desktop but when i load the client website through mobile it breaks.

edit: it works on mobile ios it breaks on android

Thank you for contacting Screets.

If you install 2.6 or newer version, LC only loads less than 1kb (~600bytes) JavaScript file and the rest of the files load itself when your all pages loaded.

It means that LC doesn’t effect your page load at all.

However, if you have a cache plugin, maybe you have cleared cache just before you have tested. Don’t forget that when you clear cache, your cache plugin needs time to compress all your website in the next page refresh.

Testing your page performance

Try that tool below to see what causes your page performance.

You will see that widget.js and the rest of the LC files will start loading just after your all website assets are loaded properly.

Hello, How can I get the previous version with Pre Chat Form? I liked it that way but now I cannot get it.

And sorry for the delay. We have missed your comment.

Pre-chat form is deprecated. It is an old approach and modern chats don’t use it at all. ​ ​Now we’re working on collector card which will be appear just after your visitors initiate chat and ask name, email, phone and company info (you can customize the form, of course).

It is in roadmap. We have just released 2.7.0 and collector card feature will also be available in near future in free updates.

LC works in browser console for operators. Although your visitors can both connect chat through their desktop and mobile, operators should connect WordPress back-end and talk with visitors.

Operators can get both desktop and email notifications when new chat request is started. Desktop notifications also triggered when new message arrived.

Hello, I haven’t used this plugin even once, but finally decided to use it. I set up everything correctly, but when I try to click sign in on chat console, the button turns grey like it was pressed, but does nothing… Tried like 5 browsers and it worked 1 time on Chrome, but then all times after in Chrome nothing would work.

Hope to get it working soon, please let me know if there’s anything that I’m not doing right. I have everything setup correctly as it did work once and now not working at all… so weird. Thanks for any help! :)

I think I just fixed my own problem, ended up being user error. Thanks so much!

The one issue that I AM having is when someone tries to send a message and fill out the form, when they try to send it says “something went wrong” and doesn’t submit… Anything I could do to figure out why this might be happening?

I think you have received error “Something went wrong” from contact/offline form. Live Chat uses wp_mail() which is one of core functions in WordPress, nothing more. It means that if your WordPress sends email, then Live Chat will do as well.

  • If you use SMTP, you will want to install Easy WP SMTP plugin and try to get help from server administrator: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/
  • Check if you are using valid email in “Site email” in your site info options
  • Try different email by changing “Site email” field
  • Contact your hosting provider and ask how to setup email for your WordPress. They will provide you instructions.

You can see my domain is here https://trustlock.co/ – and when someone tries sending an offline message with the email, name and message and send it, it errors out… I turned off the function because it’s not working and giving visitors a message “something went wrong” but not sure how to find out why this error is happening? I am using SMPT gmail for my email server as my server doesn’t have WP mail, but might that be the issue, or what could I do to solve this?

It seems like your design settings couldn’t be updated. You will want to:

  • Ensure that you are using the latest version (today it is 2.6.1)
  • Deactivate and activate the plugin again
  • Go to design chat options and check if all fields set correctly
  • Click “Save changes”

“Live Chat” is the plugin name. You can’t change it. However, we have missed adding “lcx” text domain name. It is now fixed for the next update.

If you’re using 2.6.1, you can add text domain following steps below:

  • Open “wp-content/plugins/screets-lcx/core/classes/options.class.php”
  • Find those lines 31-37:
            $this->framework->add_settings_page( array(
                'parent_slug' => 'livechatx',
                'page_title'  => __( 'Options' ),
                'capability'  => 'lcx_admin',
                'menu_title'  => __( 'Options' ),

  • Change it with that one:

Both plugins are identical. Only licensing makes difference. If you purchase “Complete”, you can install only on 1 domain. However, if you purchase “Unlimited” item, it is possible to install on unlimited domains.

I have purchased the plugin and want to test it on a temporary domain url – how does the activation work if this is only temporary – this is until we get a handle on how the plugin works. Once we are sure the plugin delivers what we require we’re happy to activate to the final domain url. Please advise if we need a temporary license key?

Have just noticed I purchased the $75 version for unlimited domains – please confirm i can add my temporary domain and then final domain name?

Although you can install LC on unlimited domains, only one domain is supported fully by Screets. So it is good idea to follow that step especially for your first project.

  • Get Screets API key for your temporary site url
  • Install LC
  • Once you decide to move production site, contact support@screets.io and request to change domain

Besides, don’t worry about your other domains until LC asks you to add it.
