Where can we find the star ratings output in the backend? I dont see it with plugin options.
We have a few custom categories but we cant find the data from that.
Thanks for helping.
thanks for your comment. I hope you’re doing well today.
Unfortunately I don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. Are you searching for the settings page? If yes, it’s located in “Comments” -> “Rating”.
If you want to check the ratings for every single comment, please take a look in the “Comments” section. There are several new columns which show the ratings.
Hope this helps. If not, please don’t hesitate to contact me again
1) Can we use only a thumbs up rating?
2) Can both up & down ratings counts as one? Idea is to show a total number of all ratings.
and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately this is not possible out-of-the-box. However there is an easy solution to that as my FAQ page shows: just hide the upvote-button
Sorry, didn’t understand, a reply ” this is not possible out-of-the-box” it’s related for first or second question? Or both?
Hey there again,
no worries. I will try to explain a little more.
It’s the answer to both questions. If you simply hide the thumb-down button via CSS the user only has one possibility to rate. If there is only one possibility to rate, the script can only count the +1s.
What I wanted to say is that the plugin currently has no on/off button that would hide the thumb-down button. However there is a “Custom CSS” textfield that allows you to add your own, custom CSS styles. In there you can add code for hiding the thumbs-down button.
I hope this helps. If not, please don’t hesitate to contact me again.
My friend, then one more question? On screenshot #2 showed an option to “Activate down voting” on/off, what does this feature mean?
yes, you’re right. I have to correct my self on that. It’s possible to deactivate the down-rating right from the backend. However it’s not possible to count ups and downs as one.
Is there a shortcode to insert the comment section on blank pages?
no, that’s not possible with the plugin as it should be the job of a theme to do that. It’s also different within every theme. This plugin is made to integrate the rating into the comments.
However it’s possible to show the comment ranking with a shortcode if you’re looking for that. Please see this FAQ question.
Hope this helps.
One pre-order question: do you have anu plans to add sorting feature inside comments? I mean most vote? comments, with the most posiive rating, most negative one.
and thanks for your comment.
The plugin already allows to resort comments according to their ratings. Check the screenshots from the settings page and you will see a on/off button that says “Resort comments”.
Hi team, I was talked about sligtly different idea – ability to visitors to filter comments by new, best & worst rated. Something like that – http://rock-review.ru/news/18777-novyj-videoklip-ot-halestorm-i-am-the-fire.html
ah okay. Now I understand. Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. But that’s a good idea for one of the future releases. I will add this to my future list.
Thank you. Almost all comment (and voting) systems have this feature.
hopefully you will keep improving and updating this plugin, because it’s great!
it would be great if you could offer a way to show some statistics for every registered user, like the number of thumbs up and thumbs down his comments got. is that possible?
or at least the total score of its comments. so if a user has 3 comments, each with a score of 3, the user will have 9
Thanks man. Appreciate your input. I’ve added your request to my request a function page.
Pre Sale Question (I’m sorry, I don’t think I understand Tom’s comment): Can this be used in combination with Revolution Slider like this http://MerchantSide.com website?
and thanks for your comment.
I’m not quite sure what you mean exactly as I don’t see any comment sections on this page. Can you describe a little more what you want to achieve?
Thanks and many greetings
I’m so sorry, I posted on wrong thread!
Hello, is WPML compatible with your plugin? Is it possible to automatically change the language of your plugin depending on the user’s language?
My plugins is fully translatable. But I don’t know exactly what I need to do to make the plugins compatibly with WPML. As far as I know it’s possible to translate the strings used in the plugins right from the WPML admin interface. So I guess in most cases there is no need for any special changes.
Hi, i install the plugin, i would like to have the possibility to insert for the user the possibility to give from 1 to 5 stars, how i can do it?
and thanks for your comment. I hope you’re doing well today.
A star-rating is not supported by the plugin. It only allows up- and/or down-rating.
After I installed the plugin a lot of my users are asking me to show both down vote and up vote count and not just the result, is there an option which can make that happen?
Another thing is regarding sorting, can I have the plugin sort best comments first and also at the same time after those ones show the new ones (for the ones which don’t have a rating or their rating is 0 and then the negative ones after all of those)?
Here is a little code snippet that allows you to show up and down votes: and-down-votes”>How can I show the number of up and down votes?.
Yes you can resort the comments. There is an option for that on the settings page of the plugin (under the settings tab).
Of course it’s possible to resort comments the way you like it. However this isn’t really easy as you have to know how to handle SQL queries. Especially because the original query is already very complex. Please take a look at the following Gist (code example). You can find additional hints right in the comments section there.
Can I login with facebook and google+?
and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don’t know what you mean exactly!?
I add, for example, this plugin to my wordpress blog. When a guest wants to comment a post he can do the login with facebook, gmail or email?
Thanks for the explanation. The answer is: no. The reason is: this plugin is not a social login plugin. It allows the user to rate your comments
how I do selection “UP” or “DOWN” active? I mean, that if I click on UP or DOWN, how I do active choice showing for example with grey colour?
Thank you for answer.
and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don’t understand what you mean exactly. Can you explain a little more please?
If I hover cursor on choice (for example up) – symbol is black (or grey). I want to stay black.(or grey) after click too.
Is it possible?
and sorry for my late response.
Go to the “Comments” -> “Ratings” page in your WordPress dashboard. Scroll down till you can see the custom CSS textarea. Enter the following:
I sent a profile message, waiting for response
I’m not quite sure but I think I’ve answered it (mails sent via the profile page do not have a name or an email address).
If it’s not answered, please just ask your question here.
Can I make this plugin show only on certain post type categorys ?
For example if my site has some normal articles and peoples comments are just questions which i answer then I dont want voting on those posts comments since it makes no sense, but if I also right some articles that people post their opinion on then on those posts I want the comments ratings plugin to show
Hey there again. No, the voting-option can currently not be disabled per page.
If it cant then why does the changelog say this : 1.4.0 New: Possibility to select certain post types ///// Does that not mean that I cant have it active on one post category and not active on another post category ?
*Does that not mean that I CAN have it active on one post category and not active on another post category ?
ok I see. Would it be difficult for you to code the per category feature on a next update ? lol
So you want to see a functionality to active comment-ratings on posts that have specific categories only, right?
I’ve added this to the request a function page.
Compatibility issue with https://codecanyon.net/item/facebook-recent-comments-widget-for-wordpress/7522372
Once I’ve installed the FB recent comments widget, when users click on + or – they will be redirected to the top of the page they are reading.
thanks for reporting.
Sounds like JS issue. Do you have an example page that we can look at?
I deactivated the FB plugin, if you want I can send you the plugin files
Of course, you can do that at any time.
I’ve checked your Facebook plugin with my plugin and for me it works just fine. Do you have any issues with the Comment Rating Plugin when the FB Comment Plugin is disabled?
