Hello, Is it possible to export and import the settings of a plugin with WordPress Awesome Import & Export Plugin? I have a questionnaire setup on one site and now need the same setup on another and as there are lots of settings it would be good if it’s possible to just export them.
You need to check how that plugin is saving settings. If it saved in a single table or in option table, you can import and export that settings easily. Thanks

Hi, I would just like to ask if your plugin can handle the import of all types of custom fields? Check boxes and radio buttons with multiple options, calendar and time entries, map location info etc? Do you have documentation to understand how this would work? How would one setup the CSV Cells, headers, etc?

Plugin can handle entries of radio and checkbox, map location, date time easily. It can save any value as saved in single cell of csv. It doesnt work with repeative fields. There are sample csv available on website demo page. Please check that.
hi there – where can I find some help with the plugin usage. I have it installed on a WP site, and tihngs look OK (although the Chrome Console reports that 3 image files it tries to load are missing).
When I go to import a XML file that was exported form elsewhere, it lets me select the file and click to upload but then the upload area of the page just goes blank and the file doesnt seem to get processed. It doesnt show up in the file manager when I look afterwards at the Import Files.
Also, whe nI ave the WP_DEBUG options enabled, there are no debug probem statements being generated.
How should I proceed with getting help on this?
Please check your xml file. It must contain 2 level nesting to read it and process properly. You can find dummy xml file for format in demo files. Please check . Thank
where do I find the dunny files? There were no demo or dummy files included in the download.

My understanding with this plug-in was that it would move images from another install and change the code to reflect that new location. I have tried this and it does not work.

Yes, Plugin reads the image from the url and copy/save to current website and updates the url in the post. Please explain what is not working. You mean images are not downloading or it is not updated as post images. Please note that for post images, you need to enable it in settings while nothing need to be done for featured images.

I am not sure about what you mean by Plugin compatible with cron jobs. There is no schedule based feature in this plugin if you are looking for that.
Imports are not bringing in Podcasts (powerpress). Image files are not updating to new address or being transferred. These are features I paid for and am not getting. I can’t find any documentation on these subjects. I’m likely too stupid to use this properly, I’ll be the first to admit. But I’d still like to return the plugin and receive a refund.

Custom table and there is no errors, I get the following results.
Records Read: 12972
Records Added/Updated: 12972
Records Skipped: 0
If the table is empty it adds the records, but if there are records in the table it does not update the records with any changes.
As per message, it is adding records.
To update the record, you need to enable the setting for update record on setting page else it will skip record.

I am importing posts of type “Forum”, “Topic” and “Reply”
I was able to load the Topics OK but 66% of the Replys were “Skipped”.
Is there a log file somewhere with further information on why records are “Skipped”?
It looks like I was only able to add one Reply per Topic.
In my original import file I have set the post_parent id for each Reply for each Topic to be that Topics post id.
So for Topic “A” with post_id 12354 I have set the
post_parent of Reply “A1” to 12354
post_parent of Reply “A2” to 12354
post_parent of Reply “A3” to 12354
Do I need to set the post_parent of Reply “A2” to be the post_id of Reply “A1” ?
Hmm… I manually (in Wordpress) added two replies to post_id 12935.
The replies were created with IDs 13597 and 13598 and BOTH have post_parent of 12935.
I tried a new test. I tried to add 7 replies to a topic. Each reply has the same post_parent.
Every reply was skipped.
Is that a bug?

Ok, following on from this I have a new issue with exactly the same origin i.e. replies which have identical subjects.
While I am now able to add replies which have identical subjects they are added as post_type “inherit” rather than “publish”.
I could live with that but the post_parent for all “inherit” type posts is set to “1”.
Which I can’t live with.

I imagine that at some point in your code you are doing a select on wp_posts where post_title = csv_post_title
If you get a match then you add the post as a Revision rather than as a Topic or Reply.
I can see why you did this but its a massive PITA for me.
I need all Topics and Replys added even if the title is the same. For example, I have multiple Topics with the title “(no subject)” and (“Test”) and so on.
What’s even worse is that the select is on wp_posts where post_title = csv_post_title
wp_posts where post_title = csv_post_title AND post_parent = csv_post_parent
This means that even duplicate Titles which only occur once in each Forum are still classed as “Duplicate”. Which makes no sense at all.
If you can tell me where the select is in your code I can comment it out (or set the result to always be false).

Once it is finished it will generate the message, You can check posts whether posts are added or not. If not, then there may be case of php memory limit exhausted or timeout, so you need to either increase these or restart again. Thanks
