Hi, pre-sale questions please:

We have a store with USD as the base currency (to facilitate exchange rates and calculations) where we need to display 5 different currencies (one for each country).

None of these currencies are supported by PayPal.

We need a plugin that displays any currency selected by the user or by GeoIP BUT when it redirects to PayPal, it needs to be converted in USD. Does this plugin work this way?

Thank you

Hi there,

Thanks for the comment!

So you always want to receive payments in USD via PayPal? If so, you can easily use cheaper version of this plugin by me, WooCommerce All in One Currency Converter – https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-all-in-one-currency-converter/11519287

You can use it as a converter just to convert prices for user’s reference – so that before checkout user will actually see the amount in USD (base currency) along with the converted value in his local currency.

Here is a demo of this plugin mode, take a look – http://wcaiocc-demo1.dev49.net/

Hi Daniel,

Your answer seems to be the solution to my problem.

I just sent you an email to re-confirm, if you could please check it and get back to me it would be great.

Thank you

Hi there,

I just replied, let’s move our conversation to emails, please :)

Hi, great plugin. Can you tell me how to change the names of the currencies? Thanks!

Hi there!

Thanks for the purchase!

Please go to my plugin settings and go to Currencies section – you can change various parameters of each currency there :)

Hi!

I recently purchased the plugin and everything is working just fine except one thing: I can’t seem to get the local currency sent to PayPal Express. I’m using the “PayPal for Woocommerce” plugin. The local currency is showing up until but when transferring to PayPal the currency switches to USD (which is store default).

I also tried with Stripe and PayPal Standard as payment options and both work out fine so it seems to be something specific to PayPal Express.

And yeah, I do have the ” Use additional currencies for user’s reference and for checkout (payment in alternative currency)” checked :)

Also checked the PayPal plugin log and it’s USD that’s being sent to PayPal from WooCommerce when using the Express option so it does not seem to have anything to do with that plugin, they just forward what they get…

2017-11-25T21:35:09+00:00 INFO SetExpressCheckout Request: Array ( [METHOD] => SetExpressCheckout [ALLOWNOTE] => 1 [LOCALECODE] => en_US [SOLUTIONTYPE] => Sole [LANDINGPAGE] => Billing [USERSELECTEDFUNDINGSOURCE] => CreditCard [PAYMENTREQUEST_0_AMT] => 20.00 [PAYMENTREQUEST_0_CURRENCYCODE] => USD

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Thanks for the purchase!

I am really sorry to say this, but PayPal Express is not possible to be integrated with my multi currency plugin :-( It works completely differently than any other gateway. PayPal Express does not allow WooCommerce to save the order. If you use PayPal Standard, when you go to checkout and then cancel the payment on PayPal payment page, you can see that the order has been placed in WP-Admin (the status is cancelled), just like any other payment gateway – so the data is available to grab before payment. It does not happen with PayPal Express. The order is not stored in database and PayPal Express does not use ANY of the order data. Therefore any overrides (on currency or price) are simply omitted and PayPal Express does not use it.

If PayPal Express is crucial to you, then I am afraid you will have to apply for a refund. Here is a link for CodeCanyon Refunds – http://codecanyon.net/refund_requests/new (Please select Author has agreed to a refund).

Please keep in mind that my plugin is compatible with any other payment gateway – it’s just PayPal Express that works completely differently.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Thanks for your reply! I have forwarded it to the support for the “PayPal for Woocommerce” plugin in hope that you guys can co-op on a solution here :)

See down at the bottom here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/paypal-express-checkout-currency-not-converted-correctly/

Hi there, I recently purchased the plugin, but have found it wont auto change to the customers location, it has been set to geolocate in the settings, and also set up everything else, it seems they have to manually change the converter, which I dont want, I need for it to be auto, also it doesnt allow you to change the default currency symbol for example, it would have been great to have it change to USD $ (default) rather than just the $ symbol, that way customers would know it is USD, and not another currency, I changed all the others, example AUD $ so it would show what it was, are you able to assist with these things? Also I would like FLAGS is this possible, rather than the radio or drop down? Thanks Angelique

Hi there,

Thanks for the purchase!

Hmm, the geolocation feature is working well. For example – here is my test demo shop – http://wcumcs-demo1.dev49.net/shop/
I am based in Poland and each time I visit the shop, the site assigns PLN currency to my session, which is correct. Please try visiting your site via VPN or proxy gateway. I recommend using Opera browser in private mode – it has VPN/proxy built in – you can browse from the US, Canada, Netherlands, Germany and Singapore for free. Some details here – https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2016/04/free-vpn-integrated-opera-for-windows-mac/

Yes, you cannot change base currency parameters due to safety reasons. You can do that using PHP, though.

Please add the following code to your theme’s functions.php (it can be placed right after the opening <?php tag):

// CODE START
add_filter('woocommerce_currency_symbol', function($currency_symbol, $currency){
    switch($currency) {
        case 'USD':
            $currency_symbol = 'USD $';
            break;
    }
    return $currency_symbol;
}, 99999, 2);
// CODE END

Make sure you are using a child theme. Otherwise, the change will be overwritten after you update your theme.

Regarding flags – this feature is not supported out of the box, but since the switcher is highly customizable, you can create any switcher you want, provided you have basic CSS and JS knowledge.

Here is some basic example:

Add this to to my plugin’s settings (Custom JavaScript code in Display section):

jQuery("a[data-wcumcs-currency='AUD'].wcumcs-list-item-link").prepend('<img src="http://www.gwmicro.com/images/flags/AUSTRALIA.gif" style="width: 20px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-right: 5px" />');
jQuery("a[data-wcumcs-currency='USD'].wcumcs-list-item-link").prepend('<img src="http://www.gwmicro.com/images/flags/USA.gif" style="width: 20px;margin-bottom: 2px;margin-right: 5px" />');

I am using random flags I found on the Internet. Please verify whether the license allows you to use them or use your own flags. Please keep in mind that you can easily change the CSS styling of these flags to match your preference.

Make sure you are using Buttons theme for the switcher.

Daniel Wroblewski

Hi,

In WooCommerce Flexible Shipping, we set a certain purchase amount over which the customer gets free shipping. The amount is set basing on the shop’s base currency, which is USD. This works fine for customers in the USA.

However, when a customer changes the preferred currency. The same numeric value of the new currency is used to determine free shipping or not. This plugin is not detecting the reference to the base currency setting for free shipping.

For example, if the free shipping purchase amount is set to 10 USD, a customer who pays in JPY should be buying something worth 1115 JPY or above to get free shipping. But since this plugin is not detecting the setting’s base currency, that customers needs to buy only 10 JPY to get free shipping. A customer who pays in Euro, on the other hand, is not getting free shipping until he buys €10, which is almost 12 USD.

How do we remedy that?

Hi there,

I’m afraid I don’t provide support for this compatibility, sorry :(

All currently compatible plugins are listed in the description. When it comes to other plugins, I do not provide support for them. I would have to maintain this compatibility throughout the whole plugin lifecycle. This is a very tedious process and requires a lot of dedication. I have chosen different strategy with my plugin development. I do not support many 3rd party plugins, but instead I focus on the quality of my plugin itself. If you take a look at my plugin’s reviews, you will see that users are very happy with it. It is because I spend 100% time making sure it just works well with WooCommerce, which is the most basic implementation of my plugin, but it works great. If customer wants to have additional features in his store, such as dropshipping, multi-vendor, flexible shipping etc. then I’m afraid the best way is to look for another solution :(

If the flexible shipping plugin is vital to your ecommerce system, please keep in mind that you can request a refund for my plugin, in case you feel you are not able to make full use of it.

Please keep in mind that minimum free shipping amount is fully supported by my plugin, as long as you just use native WooCommerce features (regular shipping method – Free Shipping with minimum order amount). In this case it is converted to other currencies by default, or you can even specify the minimum amounts manually for each currency.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Hello Daniel,

It is very noble of you to suggest refund. However, we feel that yours is the most relevant multi-currency plugin so for now we have compromised by using Woocommerce’s native free shipping. It has cost us more work, considering that we have to add that shipping method individually to all 30+ regions in our shop. Yet that is for now the most useable solution in keeping both most sensible plugins.

Hi there,

Thank you for you understanding, I really appreciate it. I’m very glad you are happy with what my plugin offers you. I will do my best to provide you with the best software quality for years to come with each new update.

Hi There. Today I bought & installed your plugin. Unfortunately I have two problems right off the bat. Firstly the ability to add different currency prices to variations is not available, & yes I have already set up multiple currencies. The field to add to variations just isn’t there. Secondly when I grab some prices using hooks, for example ‘get_variation_regular_price’ or ‘get_variation_price’ these prices are not being converted. Please help.

Hi there,

Thanks for the purchase!

Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be able to remedy it.

Regarding variations – I’m pretty sure you are using some additional plugin which probably break it… Hmm, in order to find out what’s going on, I would need to take a look at your admin panel. Could you set me up an admin account? I will take a look at your plugins and configuration. Please send me login details using contact form in my profile page – https://codecanyon.net/user/dev49net
Please do not post them here – comments are public.

Regarding the hooks – my plugin using very high priority on the WC hooks – value is 9999. If you want your filter to be executed after my plugin’s, please use priority higher than 9999, it should do the trick.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Hi Daniel

Thanks for the quick response.

So I turned off all additional plugins, there were only two, contact form 7 & envato-toolkit. And it started working. When I turned those plugins back on again, it kept working. So yeah, doesn’t seem like an issue any more.

I changed my filters which where all around priority 10, to 100000, 1 higher than yours and now things like sale prices etc are working.

However, that changer seems to have slowed things down markedly, changing currencies results in a really really long reload of the page. Any ideas?

Kind Regards Craig

Hi there!

Sorry for the delay.

Hmm, does disabling your own filters speed things up? If so, I would try to look for any performance slowdowns in the filters that you are using there.

Dear Author,

I have been trying to reach you ever since I purchased your plugin.

Please there is a BIG issue with your plugin,...

It slows down my site badly, and really HELL, that I have to uninstall and install many times, with same problem coming up.

Please I want to know if there is a solution to that, because even my host and theme developer said same thing of your plugin.

Waiting to read from you soon.

Thanking you.

Hi seems like you have a nice plugin. I wanted to know if you display the currency of the customer on the top of every page?

Thanks

Hi there,

It’s up to you :) You can display currency switching widget with active currency selected using a widget, a shortcode or a PHP function wherever you feel it fits best.

Thanks for your plugin :)

Just been having issues with different currency showing for every page. For instance, shop page 1 is in USD and shop page 2 would be in NZD… Is there a fix for this?

We have products in different currencies! There are products in rubles. There are products in dollars And there in Euros.

Accordingly, the base price for the all different!

Your plugin is not showing the base price, such as the Euro. See for yourself:

Base price (₽) – empty Price is in Euros – 109 (108.75)

Why not show base price in Euro, If we leave empty to count in Rubles?

Hi there,

Thanks for the purchase!

I’m afraid it’s not possible :( You cannot leave base currency price empty. It needs to be always filled. Also, there can be only one active currency at the time, user cannot see products in different currencies.

In case the plugin does not meet your requirements, please keep in mind that you can request a refund for my plugin, in case you feel you are not able to make full use of it.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Ok. Thank you. Money back, please.

Hi – could we use this plugin with a per-customer pricing extension such as the one from https://wisdmlabs.com/woocommerce-user-specific-pricing-extension/ or does the extension natively support per customer pricing? Many thanks

Hi there,

Hi there,

At some point in the last few days my client noticed their webshop becoming very slow (loading in over a minute and a half). I found out this was caused by the Ultimate Currency Suite plugin, as it turned back to normal after deactivating the plugin. I cannot seem to find out what causes the plugin to slow down the webshop, so I would appreciate your help. The URL is https://www.cafe-analog.nl/en/webshop/. As you can imagine, the plugin is currently deactivated, so please let me know what you need from me to figure this out.

In the apache logs I find two issues, that do not disappear after deactivating the plugin and that might not be related, but I’m not sure. Hi there,

Thanks for the purchase!

Thank you for the insight. I am aware that this issue occurs sometimes, but just like you – I was never able to track it. But I think it always leads to having one problematic product. You had this item in deleted products, but I know of a case where the problematic item was on a regular sale.

I would love to solve this one, but I was never able to – it has been reported 2 or 3 times. Still I am not able to provide a bulletproof solution for that. Hopefully we will be able to find a solution to this really soon.

It’s difficult to understand what’s going on, as the error suggests saving wp_options – my plugin never does that. The messages in the log are totally not related to what my plugin does, the error log must be the aftermath of what has been happening before the log occurred.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Hi Daniel,

It seems the problem has returned. Interestingly enough, the error message that I stopped getting after deleting products, has returned. It still might be unrelated though. This is the error message I get:

Thu Jan 04 11:29:48.129631 2018 pid 15775:tid 139625066546944 AH01071: Got error ‘ID=22918 in /home/alleskid/domains/cafe-analog.nl/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1931\nPHP message: WordPress database error Got a packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes for query UPDATE `wp_options` SET `option_value` = ‘{\\version\\ message: PHP Warning: Error while sending QUERY packet. Oh, that’s not good :( I don’t know how we could debug it – is there a chance you could delete (to thrash) like 90% of your products? If it works, then keep undeleting them until you find the problematic product.

Please keep in mind that if you feel it slows you down or requires more actions on your side that you would have expected, you can always apply for a refund for the plugin – https://codecanyon.net/refund_requests/new

Hi,

I would like to show custom pricing for a few countries and not use exchange rate. I exported all my products as a CSV file. The country specific pricing fields got exported as meta data. I then changed the pricing manually for those countries and imported the file back. However, the prices did not get changed manually. How do I ensure that these fields get exported and then imported properly?

Thanks in advance, Priyanka

Hi Daniel,

I am using the default import-export tool that comes with Woocommerce installation. How do you suggest I go about changing the prices of products for only one/two countries?

Regards,
Priyanka

Okay, I see that WooCommerce import/export tool can be extended with additional fields as well. I will try to have it added to next plugin release. However, it might take approx. 2-3 weeks to be released. Would that be acceptable?

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

Hi there,

I just got back to this subject and import/export is totally possible without any additional integration. In the Export windows just make sure you tick “Yes, export all custom meta”. Then in Import, you need to set these fields to “Import as meta” (default) and everything will work out fine :)

Hi, we are having a hard time in search of a discount plugin and/or a loyalty reward plugin that works with this currency plugin. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, I do not support any of such plugins :( You are free to try some out, but I cannot guarantee compatibility on that field. Only native WooCommerce discount coupon codes are supported. Adding additional plugins that modify money-related stuff is very difficult to maintain on my side, so I decided not to pursue it.

Hi,

Thanks for the purchase!

Please go to Downloads section in your CodeCanyon account ( http://codecanyon.net/downloads ) and next to my plugin click Download and choose Installable WordPress file only. This is the file you should be installing.

I wish this was the default file to be downloaded, but for some reason Envato/CodeCanyon decided otherwise :/ If it was up to me, the Installable WordPress file would be the default file to be downloaded.

Please let me know if that helped.

Thanks very much! I was able to install it using the installable zip file. I wasn’t able to activate it because my PHP version is a bit outdated (5.4.16 instead of 5.5 or higher), but that’s my issue. I’ll get that updated, then see if I can activate it.

Thanks for the quick response!

Hi there,

Thanks for the info!

Please have it updated to at least 5.6 (7.0 or later recommended). 5.5 support will be dropped soon as well.

Hello

I have pre-sales question. We purchased your other currency convert plugin, which is working great for us. We are a Canadian company but half the products we sell come from US suppliers. We have setup our base currency in USD and then using your all in one currency converter, we will convert using Geolocation to the customers local currency. All this works great!

Now the issue we have ran into is when we want use the plugin to collect payment in multiple currencies. For our business it is just better for us to collect currency from Canadian customers in CAD and US customers in USD. I should also mention we are using a dynamic pricing plugin to adjust quantity pricing based on quanties purchased. Your currency converter plugin has no issues with this dynamic pricing plugin, only until we activate the payment in multiple currencies option. When this setting is activated the dynamic discounts are not applied. This wouldn’t be an issue if all payments were made by credit card. But we do offer PO as a payment option since some purchases can be tens of thousands.

So we are wondering if this ultimate currency plugin would behave differently. How is this different from the currency converter plugin? Since this is converting at the product, is it possible it would behave better than just converting the cart values.

Hi there!

Thanks for the comment!

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide support for dynamic pricing plugin compatibility.

Both of my plugins have the same currency service core. If you had trouble with the other plugin, they will also appear with this plugin. The only addition that this particular plugin has, is that you can actually specify alternative currency prices, not just have them automatically converted.

I’m sorry, but providing support for this kind of compatibility and maintaining is very difficult. I focused on supporting base WooCommerce features, which is why the plugin works best in simple environment. For complicated stores with multiple price-modifying plugins, I would not recommend running it.

Kind regards,
Daniel Wroblewski

presale question can i control currency converter exchange price

example case : i sell with currency A and buyer want to buy using currency B exchange rate for A : B is 1 : 2 can i cange it to 1 : 2.2

thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for the comment!

Yes, you can do it in two ways. One is to specify an exact exchange rate for each currency. But this will need to be manually updated every time.

Better option is to use filters. My plugin uses facilitates, which allows you to add a markup to any exchange rate. Here is a documentation on this one – http://dev49.net/res/woocommerce-ultimate-multi-currency-suite/documentation/advanced_operations/index.html#wcumcs_currency_code_exchange_rate_update_value
The example shows your case – it adds 0.2 to each exchange rate update.
