I am having an issue with the Alphabetical Search plugin when using the short code. When the page has multiple pages (pagination) the Alphabetical Search will not show up for multiple pages. Example page 2, 3 or 4.
Here is the page where I have the short code and it is working as expected. http://www.catalogdelight.com/alphabetical-catalog-listing/?letter=A
Here is the page with pagination with the shortcode not working. http://www.catalogdelight.com/alphabetical-catalog-listing/page/2/?letter=A
When I use the shortcode it does not recognize page/2, but it will work using the auto placement feature. I would like the Alphabetical Search to work only when the visitor is on the following link http://www.catalogdelight.com/alphabetical-catalog-listing/ page and the pagination pages associated with it.
Thanks again for your reply,
Can you please create a login for us and email on email@example.com and we will check what’s going wrong here.
hi, there’s an issue about your plugin when using the shortcode in the widgets area… after clicking a letter it sends to the same current path and adds the variable ?letter and shows “404 not found” but when the current page is /shop, it shows results, I need to be able to use this plugin in the sidebar of the single product page.
I know it’s an url problem.
Do you have any fix for that?
Can you share your site admin login details to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can check the issue.
can I use this plugin with custom post types?
Currently it only works with WooCommerce products. If you want this for custom post types then you might need to get the plugin modified.
if you choose the option:
“Display only those alphabets which has some products” and you are in a category with zero products how can you hide the title “Text above the alphabets” The alphabet is hidden but the title still shows.
The category structure is:
Main cat => No products
Cat 1: No products
Cat 2: PRODUCTS
Can you please share such a url and we will have a look at it ?
Here is a url with no products but categories:
I checked the url but I can see the products there. Can you please verify?
We are working on a different issue. Check this category:
The title still shows even when it is just categories.
I realli need some help.
How can I show only products in a specific categopry
Every thing is running smoothly I rally like the plugin. I really need to show only products in a specific category.
Please let me know how to do this.
Currently, it’s not possible out of the box. You can hire someone from our team to get the desired feature you need.
Hi! Thank you so much for making this plugin, it’s exactly what I was looking for. Is there any way to remove the alphabet from the search results (when somebody searches for an item)? The reason is, often many items that are not applicable to the product they’re searching on show up (it may be 5000 items). Thanks, Ray
Can you please give me some specific situation or even an example of what you are looking for. It’s a bit confusing for me. Can you try to share some url and showing the things you need?
Hi. Is there any way to filter by category?
Currently there is no option to filter by category. If you want you can hire someone from our team and get what you need.
Do we have to hire you to better your plugin? I think making your plugin to be able to filter by category should be part of your plugin and not an extra that one has to pay you to get done. No. Sorry, we can’t hire you to better your plugin.
Actually what you are asking doesn’t comes under support request. Thanks for your suggestion, we might add this feature in future.
pre sale question:
hye, before i buy your best plugin. i wanna ask whether this plugin can:
1) can i add the alphabetical search in the menu area?
2) can i make only certain product brands shows in the menu?
1) Sorry but currently you can’t do it out of the box.
2) It doesn’t show up brands. It displays as per products.
Hi there, thanks for the plugin… [woo_alphabetical_search] is not working in widgets, I am getting [woo_alphabetical_search] instead of the Alphabets. Can you please help?
Also, one more issue, I created a test page so you can duplicate the issue… http://factoryoutletperfumes.com/test/
Issue 1: hover over any letter (say letter c) an you see that the link shows http://factoryoutletperfumes.com/shop/?letter=C instead of http://factoryoutletperfumes.com/product-category/womens-perfume/?letter=C
The problem here is that it goes to the Search Results page and displays the Alphabets with the same issue. Can we remove the Alphabets from the Search Results Page?
When you click on any Product Category it will go to the right page such as http://factoryoutletperfumes.com/product-category/mens-cologne/ which is perfectly fine.
Issue 2: Type any search word in the Search Bar say ” gucci ” and hit enter (don’t select a result from the AutoComplete results that will Pop up, just hit enter and you will see that it will take you to http://factoryoutletperfumes.com/?s=gucci&post_type=product&dgwt_wcas=1 which is the same as issue 1 which I think that the whole Alphabets should not appear in Search Results page.
Issue 3: is my first message, look at the right Sidebar, this is a widget which is just showing the Short Code, not the Alphabets.
I appreciate your help. Please let me know if you need a temporary Admin user/pass.
We are reallysorry for those issues. Can you send us your site login detail at email@example.com so that we can fix those issues.
Why aren’t you replying to my emails? you have not fixed the issue!
Thanks for your help and for standing behind your plugin.
You are welcome and thanks for your wonderful review.
Please look at the link to underastand my Request better.( For an example: https://www.theoutnet.com/en-DK/Shop/Designers)
First i click on menu Designer , it takes me to the page where u can find the alphabet A-Z. If i click on A, it takes me to a page where all the products , which names start with the alphabet A. Then , If click on one product in A column , for example , the brand name Agnona—it SHOWS the whole list of Agnona products .. Is there any plugin.
Can you please tell me how I can do the same .
We can’t see whether you have purchased the plugin or not. If you have purchased the plugin then please ask from the purchased account.
Just finished setting this up and love it so far. One thing I’d love though is a way to filter out the word “The” at the beginning of a product name when sorting them. My store is for books, and many begin with “The”, but would be better sorted based on the following word in the title. Is there a workaround I could do, or is this something that can be added to the next update? (I don’t want to manually edit the titles of the products, because I’m using the Amazon Associates Woozone plugin and I don’t want to violate any of Amazon’s API terms and conditions).
Here’s the store I’m building on our test site so you can see what I mean: http://stage1.kshetrabooks.com/shop/
The thing you are looking for is a custom development work because you want to exclude something from the plugin feature. So you can ask us for a quote and one of our developer will make this job done. You can drop your mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for the reply. I’ll pass on the custom development for now, but will get in touch if I change my mind.
first let me say, thanks for that great plugin.
I have two issues with the plugin.
First (this is really important for me) is the pagination, they break when I filter the letter “C” and want to go to site 2
What I have found out. I use the Plugin Search and Filter Pro.
I use this container ”.x-pagination a” for the pagination and all works fine.
What I see, when I filter the letter “C” and will go to the site 2, the URL will be: /produkte/?letter=C&sf_paged=2 what is correct if I insert the link manuelly
But when I click on the 2 from the pagination the plugin will redirected to /produkte/sf_paged=2 -> ?letter=C is kicked in the URL
How can I fix it?
The other issue ist the product counter, they show more products that I have.
I send you the Login-Details to: email@example.com
Hi Guys, I fixed the issue. The counter problem came from the WPML plugin. Your plugin catch all products EN-Version and DE-Version. Maybe you can modify the query string in the update for the language selector? Thanks Pascal
Glad to know you have fixed the issue.
we are using other filter plugins
can we use this plugin with that filter plugin?
Thanks for the interest in our plugin. Can you tell what kind of filter plugin are you using?
Hello I am waiting for your reply

because i am going to buy it
I’d like the alphabet to be at the top of my homepage and filter the categories alphabetically.
Yes you can do that. We have the shortcode functionality for the alphabets. So you can put the shortcode anywhere you want and get the alphabets and the filter.
