Sounds interesting, how long do you recommend setting the cache for or what is the default? So users not logged in will be delayed by lets say an hour?

Do you have any stats on load times or server loads before and after?

Hi matteclipse. Thanks for your interest.

The default cache time is 5 minutes, which can be changed easily. In tests, loading a cached version of the page generally takes about 1/4th of the time of generating it afresh. Loading a forum index for a large test forum (millions of posts) takes about 4.5 seconds to generate, but about a second from the cache.

The average amount the page load time and server load are actually reduced depends on a number of factors including the cache length setting and how busy the forum is. The higher-traffic the forum is the better the performance gain (as pages are more likely to be in the cache already therefore more likely to be “hit” by the caching engine), though all forums will see a performance increase.

Hope this helps.

let’s me try first :)

Does this still log the guest in the who’s online even though its a cached page?

Hi Lonter,

If a guest viewed only cached pages, they wouldn’t be logged as VB’s logging functions wouldn’t be run. However, the odds of a guest viewing only cached pages is relatively low, so this shouldn’t make a large impact on the total guest counts.

Does it work on vB 4.2.1 without manual template/file edit?

I have already purchased this Plugin but where the XML file for Install ? Only one PHP file and requiring edits to vBulletin core files, You send me one email PDF file and purchased file are not same get, Please update the XML file, Thanks

Thanks for update ! Does not get any option for Admin CP ? Have any plan to implement Configure Options for Admin CP ?

The configuration options won’t need to be used by 90% of users, it should just work off the shelf for most installations. In rare cases where options need to be set they can be set by editing a simple code file. Thanks for the suggestion, I may look into moving the options into the cp in a future release.

Its great work with vb4.2.1 Really good script…

For some reason PHP can’t write those files. If you’ll PM me with your FTP info I can take a look for you.

Sorry for the delay, This issue fixed , Thanks !

Any technical details ? based on.. How ? I already have many modifications from vb.org discussion/pages, memcached, Shawn’s DigitalPoint vb article etc

Cool. buying it.. hope to see 50%+ load faster :D

Great, thanks!

If you don’t mind, can you share links to vb plugin development course? i like develop mods.

how to change options via ACP?

and is there anyway to verify whether the plugin is working ? also info. such as average load time, highest hit page etc

The plugin doesn’t interface with your database at all. Not to mention those timestamps are from 2013. Probably some sort of database recovery that you just now noticed.

ok.. fine .. in future, please add an option to flush the cache.. :)

Sure, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into adding that in the next release.

very nice plugin, works as expected however i had an issue with the url rewrites with vbseo. I’ve written about it on my blog. thanks

Hi Thordin. Thanks for purchasing and for the update, if I hear of anyone else experiencing that incompatibility, I’ll direct them to your post.

@Thordin9: You had styles/images not loading properly right? (while using vbSEO and vbCache)

Thanks. :)

@collegers Actually that was a different beast unrelated to the rewrites issue. it had to do with the base href tag being omitted for some reason from my output. I did a ‘dirty’ fix which worked but i am sure there is a better way..

What i did was to add: $output = str_replace('<head>','<head> <base href="http://mydomain/" /><!--[if IE]></base><![endif]-->',$output); in public static function store found in in /plugins/vbcache.php

I also think that development is dead on this project?

no more support?
