I cannot get todays date to show at the end of the timeline. Even if I put a post in for today it won’t show a year for 2015 over the top. Any ideas?
Hi, please submit a support ticket with link to the test page and I will take a look as soon as I can.
I’ve purchased this plug-in but it’s in English. Is there a file for the translation of the months in French ?
Sorry, there isn’t.
It’s not responsive and therefore utterly worthless.
Thank you for your feedback.
Does this work on the latest wordpress release?
Yes, it works.
Great plugin! I have several from you and have been very happy. I have having problem with implementation. I created a post (text box) using the short code [our-company-history] and I am not getting any results. I am new to WordPress so I know I am missing something. Any suggestions?
Please check again if this is the correct shortcode.
It should be [timeline name=”your-shortcode”]
cool plugin, anyway I can edit the CSS, i want to make the boxes bigger so that I don’t have to have a read more…
I’m sorry but I can’t provide support for non-trivial customizations like this. I hope you understand.
I bought your timeline plugin for Wordpress, but the documentation is very short.
There are no settings that actually work. Just a bunch of words like : General, Content, Settings, ....but nothing is clickable.
I can make a timeline, give it a name and thats all, nothing is showing.
hello have submitted the ticket awaiting for an update from your end
Hello, Sorry for the delay, I believe I answered your ticket.
Hey Nick, I picked this plugin up, and it does about 90% of what I need it to do. Almost!
How hard would it be to restrict the timeline displayed to specific dates? It might be a nice update for you (seeing as how some of the support questions could be answered with a “timeline start” and “timeline stop” fieldset. As far as I can tell from the JS, this shouldn’t be TOO hard to include.
Timelines are usually there for a pretty good reason, so specifying number of posts vs timeframe is one way of doing it – but it’s limiting the plugin a lot
I’ll probably end up manually editing the beginning/end dates in the plugin myself, but I hate hard coding things just to make them work once.
Answered your support ticket!
I bought this plugin, the instructions in the added documentation are very limited and not very operational. The plugin installs without problems, but doesn’t work, and support hasn’t answered my inquiry. I would like a refund, as this has unfortunately been a waste of money for me.
I don’t see any open tickets about Timeliner, do you mind sending me an email if you are having trouble?
If you still want a refund, please contact Envato Support, because authors can’t issue refunds.
I have a problem with gallery in the timeline when i see a post summary it shows the gallery shortcode gallery and not images is there a way to solve this?Thanks.. i have submit a ticket like 4 days ago with no response
I believe your ticket was answered 4 days ago, here is the quote:
You can try replacing line 737 of timeliner-wp.php with the following:
$content .= ’ ’ . do_shortcode(strip_tags(substr(get_the_content(), 0, 1000))) . ‘ ’;
I’ve send two times a question, and it ’s still without answer…
Could you please tell me if your plugin is still NOT responsive ?
Thank you fro your answer
Hey! First of all I’m sorry for the delayed answer.
How did you contact me? I don’t have any unanswered tickets for Timeliner.
To answer your question directly – this plugin is still not responsive. A big update is coming within the next few months, but that’s all I can say.
First of all, thank you very much for your answer, I got your mail by Envato, I asked the same to them, so, they advice me to contact you…
I tried twice…
Well, to be honest, right now I need the plug in be responsive, as my WP is, so, maybe I wait until you resolve the problem (your plug in is very interesting to me) or I will find a provisional solution…
Thank you so much for your interest in this plugin, but like I said – it will be a few months until the update is ready.
Hi nickys. About 2 months ago, you answered a question in the comments on whether the plugin is responsive, saying that an update would be coming in a few months. Is this update still planned and will it include responsiveness?
Yes, the update is still planned and it will be a complete rewrite of the plugin. However I can’t promise when the update will be released, I’m just one guy doing all of the work. Thank you for the understanding!
To set TIMELINE with the latest posts from one category is it compatible with WPML ?
Sorry, but I don’t know how WPML works, I really can’t help. You can choose posts only from a specific category, if that was your question.
Does it work with Custom Post Types? We don’t really want to publish the timeline events on the normal blog section. What can we do for that?
A few additional nortes on it: Does it work with Custom Post Types? Does it have its own Custom Post Type for the event items? We don’t really want to publish the timeline events on the normal blog section nor use normal posts or pages. We want the events of the timeline in their own Custom Post Type (integrated in the plugin or coded by ourselves). What can we do for that?
Unfortunately it doesn’t work custom post types.
How do i change the excerpt length when hoivering a spot on the timeline?
Sorry but that is a native WP function that provides an excerpt from a post. You would need to manually trim and edit the string that WP provides from timeliner-wp.php in order to change that.
No problem, It would be awesome if you could get me a row number on where to look in timeliner-wp.php.
Sorry, I just looked into the code to give you the line number and it looks like I lied to you.
The line number is 737 and you can change the number of characters that are taken from each post. I’m not using the excerpt function.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
No worries, but im sorry to, I was unclear aswell. I was refering to the title. The title gets chopped of with ”...” where can I change the number of characters in the title. Thanks again!
Just open timeliner.js and search for “titleLength”. This is the variable that you need to change.
Hay, are you think make this responsive? It is easy to make this responsive?
An update is coming to this plugin in the coming months. It will be version 3.0 – completely new and with tons more features.
pre purchase questions
Is it only works with post or portfolio items I can use ?
It works with regular posts, as well as custom taxonomies added by the theme.
The “show latest post” option has no effect. Although selected the latest post is not displayed on page load.
Welcome, before I buy plugin I have 1 question, is posible to scroll LEFT/RIGHT dates ? For example show only 3 items, another on scroll to right like this: https://s.tmimgcdn.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/TM-timeline-horizontal-layout-1.jpg?207e39
No, there is no scrolling in the plugin unfortunately.
