error after selecting the profile picture I get the following error message: “Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=3840 “No value.” UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=No value.}”

the error message is most probably because JSON message returned is not correct. This can be because your script does not have proper permissions and error takes place. Try commenting out code that saves image and get it working with no image first. Then, try setting permissions 777 on your folder and enable code that uploads image. Once you get it working, try to set proper permissions on images folder.

Would love to learn real time post update with SQL PHP + Swift

There are different ways to implement it and it will depend on the particular feature you are working on. Sometimes it is enough to sync data when you application becomes active while some times you can use silent push notifications to tickle your app and make it sync content in background.

Error parsing Json when requesting imageUpload php file

if you are testing on local host rather than on production server than you can set permissions to your folder like “777” this should help fix an issue with permissions. But do not do it on production server.

To set permissions on a folder which will hold profile pictures. you can open terminal window on your computer and then “cd” to the folder one level before it and run:

chmod -R 777

This will make your folder and any other folder inside of it open to all operations and you should be able to upload images… but please do not set 777 on production server. Consult your hosting provider and ask them to help you with folder permissions of 0744 does not work.

Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=3840 “No value.” UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=No value.

the “Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=3840” is usually when you are trying to deserialize JSON object and there is no value or it is invalid. Can you check that your script reads correct JSON object?
