Hi, I was looking for a Kliqqi (Pligg) alternative and another Elite developer (Ghostpool) suggested this plugin. For your information Kliqqi is a CMS that allows to create websites like Reddit. Users can publish articles, minimum upvotes are required to push the article to the homepage, users can connect and network. Can you tell me with your plugin and buddypress will I be able to make it?

(thanks to Ghostpool. I have contacted him to know whether his theme ‘Socialize’ will work in this way or not. He was kind enough to suggest your plugin).

Hi,

Our Snax plugin offers frontend submission (image, audio, video, embeds, lists, quizzes, memes and voting system for created posts, list items. But to get into account minimum upvotes to puch on homepage, you will need custom code (I mean developer that will implement this for you). It’s not hard, we have API for Snax, but it’s out of the scope of our support.

Hi Luke, I’ve seen points for the user published content in your snax demo. May I know on what basis that user uploaded content display in snax? Is it based on no. of points or date of upload? One more query under snax does user needs to register for uploading or without registration users can publish?

I want user to register (buddypress) and upload content (mainly articles).

Hi,

I think you’re talking about votes. Order depends on list type: 1) Classic list – author decides what items order will be 2) Ranked list – order is based on user votes 3) Open list is like Ranked list if voting is enabled for it.

User has to registered to post any content, due to security concerns. But registration via social channels takes only few secs so it’s not a problem for most users and you gain full control over them.

Hi there,

Is there a shortcode for the “Leave a vote” (voting module) in Snax? I’d want to position the voting differently and this isn’t possible without a shortcode right now.

Can someone help?

Hi,

There is no shortcode but you can use render function for that: snax_render_voting_box(). If you need you can wrap it into a shartcode to call it in the content.

Hi there,

That doesn’t seem right. It doesn’t give me the box where I can vote. It gives me this:

1 points Upvote Downvote Total votes: 1 Upvotes: 0 Upvotes percentage: 0.000000% Downvotes: 1 Downvotes percentage: 100.000000%

I want to manually add WHERE I want to show the box with votes. In the options, I can just enable or disable them and that’s not just not enough. Right now, it’s shown in the end and the start of my post, which is very annoying.

Please help

Hi,

Please check what CSS class is missing in the div that wraps your voting box and add it. I can’t help you with this here but on our support forum we can help you install that code wherever you like. Our support team will need your access data and information where exactly it should be placed.

I bought this plugin immediately it came out, and haven’t been using it. worse, it was made free on my theme Bimber.lol My problem now that i’m about to use it is that once I activate the Wordpress comments system, bots flood my database with comments so I always turn it off, but now I must leave it on to use the ranked list post type. Is it possible to change the comment system to Facebook, G+ or disqus comment? example of what I mean: https://s.nimbus.everhelper.me/share/1122992/boa5pnl7cf3dw30it8gi

Hi,

Yes, on Bimber you can use FB or Disqus system instead or together with native WP comments. Please check the WP Admin > Appearance > Customize > Singe post options and our documentation about 3rd party plugins: FB Comments and Disqus.

Hi,

How can we force Snax to make the posts have a specific post layout? Because, in my theme, I have a couple of post layouts and in the theme settings, I am forcing it to have a specific post layout.

Snax ignores this! I can’t set this anywhere in the settings for Snax and it just keeps submitting posts in a post layout / format, I don’t want!

Please help, as this is highly frustrating.

Hi,

Snax creates post in default format, defined by your theme. Snax doesn’t choose layout. Set default layout in your theme and then check if it works by creating new post via WP Admin > Posts > Add new (without changing any options , set by default). If new post will have proper layout, Snax will create a post in the same layout.

Is there a way to change the frontend submission layout? i want to remove some fields and add texts in the code… how do I do that without touching the core? Is there some child template I can use?

Hi,

You can override all Snax template via your theme’s child theme. Just create the “snax” folder inside it and copy template from Snax keeping their structure. You need to copy the templates start will “form-frontend-submission” prefix (located in snax/templates).

regards, Luke

I did that, but that didn’t work… Made a snax folder, made a “templates” folder within the snax folder and I put form-frontend-submission-text.php there, but doesn’t work…

Got it to work now… I shouldn’t have made a “templates’ folder within Snax. It’s just Snax > name of form.php and that’s it.

Thanks!

Is there a way to edit the WYSIWYG editor of front-end submission? I want to add new buttons so I can add for example as a button. Is this possible?
