Hi, I’m new to asp.net I have the following error
< – Web.Config Configuration File ->
Your web config is set to hide errors.
Change the line below from On to Off, then I can see which error happened.
Hi, I just bought the form and cannot seem to get it to work. I uploaded to the hosting server and get a 500 error. I’m a beginner and in need of help on how to set this up. Is there a more thorough documentation anywhere? Please advise. Thanks.
do you have the error details? let me know the url to see what is happening
I uploaded all the files as is to the server and receive this error:
500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.
Is there an instruction on how to use this file? Thanks.
There is no instruction, you need just upload to the server. Be sure you are running it on Windows Server.
I also have an application error: http://www.b-c.be/SmartAjaxForm/Default.aspx
I put the <customError mode=”Off” in the web.config file but don’t see any custom error messages…
Can you help me out?
be sure you are using windows server as host.
This is a generic error provided by .NET. You have to set your web.config file to show the real error adding the lines below:
Also, make sure you are using the correct framework version (3.5).
Hi – I am getting this error message please advice
Server Error in ’/’ Application.
Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition=’MachineToApplication’ beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.
Line 63: </pages>
Line 65: <authentication mode=”Windows” />
Line 67: <customErrors mode=”Off” defaultRedirect=”GenericErrorPage.htm”>
make sure you are using the correct framework version. Also, if is possible, send me a url or even the ftp credentials so I can check what is going on.
There is no secret setting the form, just upload in a Windows Server with .NET Framework 2.0 installed.
When I did customErrors more=On I get this error message
<!- Web.Config Configuration File ->
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the “defaultRedirect” attribute of the application’s <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<customErrors mode=”RemoteOnly” defaultRedirect=”mycustompage.htm”/>
thank you for purchase, enjoy it!
I have not yet done anything to alter the files – and I am getting this error
Source File: E:\0\2\32\94\2684583\user\2948145\htdocs\contact-servo\form\web.config Line: 65
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3643; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3634
probably your server is set to accept only applications. You should try to create a virtual directory:
In a normal server you just copy the files and it would work.
great thanks, got this all working… couple things… I saw in another board somewhere that someone asked about having the FROM, on the email, be the senders email… but it wasn’t answered…
also, how can i redirect to a custom thank you page?
Most servers do not allow to use the FROM mail if it is not the same domain where the script is running. For example: if your script is running on tester.com, you will be able only to send firstname.lastname@example.org. You cannot use something like email@example.com
You can use in the Response.Redirect(“http://website.com/success.html”)
in the last line of the script.
Do you know how to integrate this line
<%@ Page Language=”VB” AutoEventWireup=”false” CodeFile=”Default.aspx.vb” Inherits=”_Default” %>
In a Umbraco project which already have a line
<%@ Master Language=”C#” MasterPageFile=”~/masterpages/BasePage.master” AutoEventWireup=”true” %>
I sent an email about a week ago asking a pre sales question but I didn’t have any response.
I want to know if I can forward the form on success to a thank you page?
Yes you can just add one code line at the end of the code: Response.Redirect(“http://yoursite.com/page.html”)
In order to server our clients best, it would be great to have a conditional contact form so emails can be sent to the correct individuals rather than only having the ability to send to one person. So if I need a Sales rep, I can choose sales from the dropdown and the email will go to firstname.lastname@example.org. If I need support, I can select support from the dropdown and the email will go to email@example.com. Is this possible?
The code can be changed in order to do what you want. It will be faster if you have a basic knowledge in .net.
This is my site and my error. How can i fix it?
Pre-purchase question: Will Smart .NET Ajax Contact Form work with .net 4.6?
