Hi

I’m trying to import a slider but I keep getting the following message: “Error: Incompatible Archive”. I created the slider on our dev site. I then exported it. Now I keep getting the error message when I try to import the slider into our live site. Do you have any idea what could be causing the error, as I’d like to avoid creating the slider again?

Thanks Adrian

Hi,

if this error occurs, it seems like the zip file is corrupted. Please make sure that you can open it normaly on your PC and if not, please export again as the export server may be on an older version and could have some issues exporting.

Hello. I’m trying to export the slider, but the zip file is corrupted. I can’t open it as it says is not a valid archive file.

Here is the file if you want to verify it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uong8mtrty1pmy3/main_slider.zip

Let me know, maybe I should enable a php exetension or something else.

Thank you in advance.

Pre-sales question – Just tried your slider in a theme I purchased and was considering a purchase but can’t get the export slide to work!! Always just creates a corrupted zip file. I need the import/export feature to work as create some slides offline(local computer) and then want to export them from my local computer up to my live server. Please help resolve this. Thanks

Hello, it is impossible to install the before after add on.

Hi,

sorry, the zip file on the server was corrupt, our bad. Works now, please install again!

Cheers from Your Team @ ThemePunch

The “export slider” option exports a corrupted zip file that cannot be opened win WinZip, 7Zip, WinRar….neither my revolution slider import option is able to import the slider.

Hi! How are you? im trying to upload the plugin to my OLDAL THEME but appears this message: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Please give me a hand with that. Regards!

Hi,

please submit a ticket at http://themepunch.ticksy.com and we take a look for you. Sounds like some corrupt zip file, or older php version without the latest zipArchive module or similiar. Once we see it a bit closer, we can tell you what goes wrong.

Thanks a lot,

I get this awesome Plugin with the Stylish Metro Theme. Great Work!! Everything is fine. Until today. I updated the Theme and as recommended I Updated the Plugins. I followed the Instructions (Deactivate, Delete and install the new One) but now all my sliders are gone :( Fortunately I´ve got an old Installation on my Localhost. But Export the sliders and import on the new one don´t work. I get corrupted Zip Files and can´t import them. Could you please help me?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us. If you have an old version on your localhost, than please update it with the new version by overwriting the old revslider folder in wp-content/plugins/ folder. Than you can export the files in new form from your Localhost and import them into your live installation.

Important ! The Update says that you should NOT delete the plugin, other way you will lose all your slider from the Database.

The update process is to overwrite via FTP the revslider folder, or by new versions use the Manual or Auto Update button in the Slider Backend.

Thanks a lot,

I got problem in importing exported slider data from local to demo site.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /PATHS_IN_LINUX/wp-content/plugins/revslider/views/templates/sliders_list.php on line 47

it will require us to disable the plugin, delete it to invoke the uninstall code which delete the table and reupload the plugin to make it work again.

Tryed with the latest 4.1.2 + WP 3.8 + PHP 5.3

What can be done about this?

Hi,

a syntax error points to a corrupted file, we checked the file and we can not see any syntax errors in that line 47.

Did you try to use a fresh installation of our plugin?

Try to update the plugin again to the latest version and be sure the files are not corrupted.

You can also write a ticket on http://themepunch.ticksy.com/ and post the ticket number here. Login information to your website would be highly appreciated in this case.

Yes we did use of fresh installation and double check if the file is corrupted or not.

The problem is not with installation, the plugin installed fine.

The problem is with importing a slider instance made in localhost using the slider instance export feature.

After importing the instance, the file got corrupted.

The strange thing is even if I manually reupload the corrupted template, upon reloading the plugin options page it become corrupted again.

It can only be fixed by removing all the database entry by deleting the plugin and reinstalling them again.

Does this plugin recreate the template file everytime? instead of just grabbing the data dynamically?

Hi,

can you open a ticket in http://themepunch.ticksy.com and attach the import zip file in there?

We would like to look into this deeper. Also please post the ticket number here so we can look into the ticket directly.

I am still getting the following Error when I try to install the Rev-Slider-Visual-Editor manually: “Error: Invalid or corrupted addon file!”

Where can i find the updated Zip File?

Hello elo-werbung,

Thanks for the message! More it seems that add-on files must be corrupted so if you got add-on along with your HTML template then please contact your template author for the latest version of add-on files Or you can contact us at our support portal https://themepunch.support/ so that one of our technicians will take a look at the matter.

Any idea what is causing this not to show correctly? http://dilate.com.au/test/ Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

it seems that the output is corrupt due the theme short codes handling. We have a protection for this. Please open the Slider Settings and exapnd the TroubleShooting section. Activate the OutPut Filter and set it to “by echo” to avoid the unneded p and br tags in the output.

Thanks a lot and have a great day,

Hi guys!

I run into a strange issue with Slider Revolution plugin. :( I have purchased recently Proton – Minimal Portfolio Theme which comes with Slider Revolution 5.3.1 preloaded. I started to create my landing page slideshow in this plugin but now I continuously run into an error that makes my slides uneditable. When I save my slide edits and close the slide editor I can’t reopen to edit further. I click on “Edit” on my Slides view and the editor fails to load and redirects to a 404 page. Basically, my whole work has to go into the bin from this point because I just can’t edit these slides anymore. Very frustrating that I can’t rely on the editor because It can corrupt my slide anytime. I tried to “export” slides before It gets corrupted but when I try to load the zip back it gives an error too.

“Error: Wrong export slider file format! Please make sure that the uploaded file is either a zip file with a correct slider_export.txt in the root of it or an valid slider_export.txt file.”

So that’s not an option either. Now I’m stuck in the middle of my project that heavily based on this plugin and I have no idea how to fix it. I would really appreciate if I could get some help or advice with this problem.

Thank you in advance! Tamas

Hello! How to fix the problem? – View (slide) Error: setting layer_caption not found Site: spainhomes.es

Hi,

this points to a broken Slide. Have you changed anything in the database or did maybe something corrupt your Slider?

This could also be from a broken import file.

Please delete this Slider and create it again. If you can’t delete the broken Slider, please remove it from your database manually.

Regards,
ThemePunch

Hello,

I am using your slider plugin as part of a template I purchased. I have several templates with your slider.

When I try to alter any of the CSS code for the available text styles, the text always defaults to something like 10px times new roman. I copied the .tp-caption.medium_text, which is white by default. I wanted that size with black text. So I duplicated that section in the file. Initially, all I did was change #fff to be #000. When displaying in the slide setup, it worked, but when previewing, or actually viewing the slide on the site, text went to the small times new roman. I have tried editing the CSS file many times, different size text, text color, etc. Always looks good in the setup, but preview and actual all fail.

This is a great plugin, but I would really like to just edit the CSS file to have different sizes and colors of text.

I have included three links to pictures so you can see.

http://www.sondzin.com/slider-text1.JPG This show what the text should look like. http://www.sondzin.com/slider-text2.JPG This shows the preview and what actually happens. http://www.sondzin.com/slider-text3.JPG This shows the code that I copied and duplicated and the only things that were changed were the color and the size of text.

Please let me know how, if there is a proper way, to edit this file!

Thanks, David

hi

sounds like you have some rights issue, or someway the installation is corrupt. We had a very small amount of feedback about this, where we could help with reinstalling the new version of rev slider.

Please submit a ticket and we will take a look.

Corrupted Exports and also I cannot fix the table because it says “Empty ajax response”?

Hi guys. I have noticed that the export of sliders with Rev Slider 4.6.5 is corrupted (zip archive) and the archive size is only ~1 kB.

In a comment from 15 days ago I found similar issue and it seems that it is still not fixed because the newest version is still 4.6.5.

I also tried to make an import from an old export (export made with version 4.6.3) but the custom styles has not been imported.

I hope that you will fix it faster because this is important for theme developers.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I will doublecheck this. In the meantime you have the possibility to get any of the Exported files and even more here: http://revolution.themepunch.com/example-downloads

Hi, I have used this theme with the Udesin wordpress theme and it works perfectly, so much so I have now purchaed the slider direclty for another client but it does not work properly.

We can create sliders perfectly and preview them. when adding the shortcode to the page it just shows the background colour. If I add it using the widget it works but does not render all of the layers perfectly.

The theme we are now using is the Karma wordpress theme with the purchased Revolution Slider

Hi,

Thanks for your comment. It sounds like the output of the markups is corrupt. Please try to activate the Output Filter in the Troubleshooting Section in the Slider Settings and set it to by echo. It may help.

If this does not help, please submit a ticket to http://themepunch.ticksy.com and we will help you with it.

Thanks a lot,

ThemePunch

I can’t get the slider to show up on a horizontal parallax page. I’m running 3.6.0 and have tried with both the shortcode and directly into the template with php. All I get is a white box.

I love Slider Revolution! Thanks so much for this!
