Hello, I am working on a site that is not published yet. I am creating a slider that is for “Posts Slides”. When I enable the thumbnails so that the thumbnail photos of the next slides show, the thumbnails are blank. I’d like this to automatically show the thumbnail of the next slide (generated by featured image of the post).

This only seems to work when I create image slides. On Posts Slides, I do not have to load the individual featured images of posts slides into the slider for it to show all slides associated with the noted category, but why won’t the thumbnails show?

Also I watched your video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVvn-hv0A88&index=4&list=PLh-6IaZNuPo4MHvfzrTovXRuU7WKXkfWh

I noticed that under the Thumbnails—> Thumbnail Image Size, The options under “Thumbnail Image Size” in your video are: thumbnail, medium, large, and post-thumbnail, but on my screen post-thumbnail is missing. Could this be the issue?

Ahh I found your comment… I will see if this works! :-)

Hello I know it has been some time, but this does not work. In fact, it only shows the url to the actual file and the dimensions of the photo. So frustrating :(

Hi,

Please make sure you add [sp_image_src.thumbnail] in the Thumbnail Image -> Source field, not the Thumbnail Content field. If it still doesn’t work, please submit a ticket on http://support.bqworks.com and provide login credentials so I can take a look.

Hello, I have used for plugin for sometime now, but just realised that there is no option to pin my images in slider. At least not an easy way.

Is there such a function or I’m missing something? Thanks, A

I mean pinning by pinterest. Like when you hover over the image pin button shows or have pin button on actual photo. like in Envira gallery.

I have tried to install various pin buttons, but none of them work with your slider. They just don’t pick up those photos as able to pin.

I tested a few and the reason why the pinterest buttons don’t appear is the use of CSS3 animations in the slider. It seems that the button can’t calculate its proper position.

Anyway, if you really need the buttons, it’s possible to disable the CSS3 transitions and use JavaScript transitions instead.

Hello,

I would like the slideshow to show in a lightbox when clicking on a button. I don’t want the slideshow to be embedded in the page at all. There should only be a button ‘Open slideshow’. How can I do that ?

I understand what you’re saying, but I had this request maybe 2 or 3 times since I released the new version, 2 years ago, and it also wasn’t used much in the old version, so I decided that it’s not worth the effort of adding it. Anyway, I will add it to the list and probably add it in a future update, but I can’t do it in the very near future because I’m working on something else.

David

Hey. I understand you’re busy and I appreciate that you are willing to add it back. The plugin is awesome (Ive tried many but the lazy-loading feature of your plugin is just top-notch compared to others) and opening the slideshow from a button or a hyperlink is the only feature I’m missing.

Thanks! I’ve added the feature on the TODO list and I hope to get to it soon.

hi. it’s possible to change the language of the layers (a transparent png—english.png, or spanish.png) with the press of a button? So hiding a layer to load/show another one? thanks

Yes, the simplest way would be to load both layers and then hide and show them with the help of CSS and JavaScript.

Hello, I would like to update the Slider Pro plugin. I am currently using version 3.6, which is quite old i noticed. I updated to the 4.4.0 version, but am unable to import existing sliders. I read on http://support.bqworks.com/hc/en-us/articles/214910786-Updating-the-Slider-PRO-plugin it is advised to run version 3 and 4 parallel. I would like to update my version 3.6 at least to version 3.9, but I can’t find version 3.9 anywhere. Can you help me out? I would like to update, because I am currently in the process of making my website AMP compatible and the sliders are shown as vertical “rows” of images, which is not a very nice sight. Thanks, Robert

Hi Robert,

You can download version 3.9 from here. I wrote a release note here.

Great Plug-in but I am having some urgent problems with layers stacking weirdly after switching browser tabs. Please reply to my support ticket #3521 asap thanks.

Hi I have a post slide that is slow to load. I just want to know if this slide load fast on home page and have auto add post category with thumbnail on the right and title on the main image?

Thanks mate. On your demo, when I click post title is not linking to any post? what I want is the slide theme with thumbnail content, vertical slides

It’s possible to do what you want, even if it’s not showcased in the demo.

Hi, is it possible to use the browser window height as your slider and images height so that the slider use the full height of your window to display an image? If yes what will you need to get work?

If you want the slider to be full width, you can se the Force Size option to Full Width; if you want it to be full screen, you can set it to Full Window.

Ah…I assume the Force Size function lies in the paid version? If so and my requirement is met I am buying

Yes, it’s in the paid version.

Did I miss somewhere in your documentation that it is NOT POSSIBLE to upgrade from version 3.x to version 4.x? That would be a very good piece of information to prominently display to your long-time customers. Not only is the name of the plugin different, but the v3.x sliders are exported in XML, and v4.x requires JSON formatted imports. And the option names have all changed, so using a 3rd party XML to JSON conversion tool is also useless.

Hi,

I’ve mentioned it several times in the Comments and I’ve also put a link on the main page to this release note. Please take a look and if you have further questions, please let me know.

Hello.

I am displaying posts from a specific category as per this link here: http://bit.ly/YMA3zW

In Chrome: If I click on it, it does NOT take me to the associated page but just sits there. In FF and IE: Extremely slow to load the associated page

It would also be immensely helpful if the cursor changed to an “hour glass icon” when I click on the image. Otherwise, in FF and IE you would not know that the next page is actually loading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be caused by some browser extension. Please try to temporarily disable them for testing. Also, are you sure it’s occurring on other machines? I’ve tested in 3 so far and it never occurred.

Hi – Really like the slider. I’m using your example #2 and have images centered. Question, I’d like to only show three images at a time (main image centered like normal but have the edges on both the right and left only show half the image. Then when you click the nav arrow the next image is displayed in center like normal.

So how can I limit the number of images shown at a time for a slider? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This would require both JavaScript and CSS. First you’ll use JavaScript to add the font awesome class names to the elements:

$( '.sp-previous-arrow' ).addClass( 'fa fa-chevron-left' );
$( '.sp-next-arrow' ).addClass( 'fa fa-chevron-right' );

Then, you need CSS to override some of the initial style:

.sp-arrow:after,
.sp-arrow:before {
    transform: none;
}

.sp-previous-arrow:before,
.sp-previous-arrow:after,
.sp-next-arrow:before,
.sp-next-arrow:after {
    background-color: transparent;
}

Then, of course, you can use more CSS to further style the arrows.

David – this worked out great! Thanks again

You’re welcome!

Hi, After the slide has loaded the text on the layer blurs after a second. I have no idea how to fix that and what causes it. I’ve tried everything. Can you please take a look. I tested it with the current version of Chrome. The blurring looks ugly and just not very sharp. (I’ve tried to send a ticket, but it won’t work because when I try to send the form validation says that I need to choose a product but there is no form field for me to chose a product) please take a look http://4use.org/

Best regards, Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Please try to reduce the Width of the slider a little, to something like 762px instead of 788px, so that it fits inside the boundaries without having to scale down.

David

The slider is nice! I have a few questions:

1. How can I change the shape of the next/previous arrow into a thin and slight larger arrow?

2. In full screen mode everything looks fine, except it clips off appr. 50px from the top and bottom of the image and when exit full screen it messing up the slider (because of the cropped pixels from top and bottom). After refreshing page it looks fine.

3. Also on mobile devices the full screen option doesn’t respects the ratio of the images and it looks messed up.

Hi,

1. You can do that with CSS:

.sp-arrow {
    width: 10px;
    height: 50px;
}

For 2 and 3 I need to see exactly what happens in your implementation of the slider so please share a link to the page.

1. Thanks for pointing out the arrows! Only downfall is that the bigger and thinner the arrows are the more difficult it will be to click on it. An overlay clickable region would be nice.

2. I managed to get the full window in good proportion with the following parameters:
Width            400
Height            100vh
Responsive        x
Visible Size        auto
Aspect Ratio        1
Orientation        Horizontal
Force Size        Full window
Image Scale Mode    contain
Allow Scale Up    x
Center Image        x
Center Selected Slide    x
Slide Distance        10

Although it is how I want it, it is “all in your face”. Is it possible to resize Full Window to say 90% of the full window size?

If you want to achieve that, I think it’s better to disable the Force Size option and instead use the Width and Height options to set the slider to the desired size. You could use the vw and vh units (I see that you’re already doing that for the height).

Does this plugin have a social sharing feature? I want to make a video slide with my youtube videos and be able to share the one the is currently selected on different social networks such as facebook and twitter.

Is this possible?

It doesn’t have a built-in social sharing feature, but for YouTube videos, they can be shared by using the top-right button contained in the YouTube player.

Hi presale question, i wonder is it possible with slider pro to achieve a slider like http://outdoor.kwst.net/site/portfolio-single.html I mean a responsive height filmstrip slider (height change with browser height) without cropping images. Thanks for answer and maybe some online examples.

Hi,

Yes, that would be possible to achieve. Here’s an approximate example. In the example, the selected slide is centered, but there’s an option to align it to the left side. Then, you just have to decrease the overall width of the slider and increase the size of the slider. This can be set easily.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Hi I really like this http://prntscr.com/ez5n4y I would like to know if there is an option with arrows on the images instead the dots at the base of the slder Thank you.

Hi,

Sure, arrows can be enabled for this example; they will be positioned near the edges of the slider, thought, not the edges of the selected/centered slide.
