Hi is it possible to create a slider exactly like this gift ideas page? https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/holidays/gift-ideas/g399/gifts-for-men/?slide=1

On Desktop it is a slider, but on Mobile it turns into regular article with no slider?

Kindly Let me know.

Regards, Ben Skoglund

Hi Ben,

That functionality is not available as an option, it could only be achieved with custom CSS.

Hi – purchased this plug-in this week. I asked the question on whether the slider autopmatically picks up new posts, but our experience is that it does not – not sure if we have done something wrong. But if post a new post, it does not pick it up. We have to go into the slider (edit) and update (without making any changes) – and it then picks up new posts. Is this meant to work like that??

Hi,

The plugin uses caching, which improves the loading process because it doesn’t query the database each time the slider loads. The cache lasts for 24 hours but it’s cleared when you update the slider. If you would like to load a new post as soon as it’s published, I can provide some code that will clear the cache each time a new post is published. You need to add this to your theme’s functions.php file:

add_action( 'save_post', 'clear_sliderpro_cache' );

function clear_sliderpro_cache( $post_id ) {
    if ( defined( 'DOING_AUTOSAVE' ) && DOING_AUTOSAVE ) {
        return;
    }

    global $wpdb;

    $wpdb->query( "DELETE FROM " . $wpdb->prefix . "options WHERE option_name LIKE '%sliderpro_cache%'" );
}

Hello,

Just purchased this slider and would like to make my thumbnails beneath the slider show in columns of 4 per row. I search the comments here and saw you mentioned it was possible on another comment, but the comment was 7-8 years old. Is that still possible to do? Everything else I’ve needed to do has been great and easy to implement, but this is the only thing I am having trouble with. Thanks.

For Captions you can use this:

.sp-caption-container {
    display: none !important;
}

.sp-caption {
    display: block !important;
    margin-top: -30px;
    position: relative;
    background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7);
}

This will create some space between the main slide image and the thumbnails, which you can minimize with this CSS:

.sp-thumbnails-container {
    margin-top: -25px;
}

Perfect. Thank you so much. I wish more plugin developers were as helpful as you have been.

You’re welcome!

Hi. We have an issue with the plugin that we are not able to understand. 2 new users from our team are creating new sliders on Slider pro on our site wp panel but when they upload photos they all appear blurry. We have tried everything and it has not work, we would highly appreciate your help or advice with this please. When I upload a photo, following the exact same process, photo dimension and slider settings it works fine..

Hi,

Please post a link to the page. If you don’t want to post it here, you can submit a ticket here: http://support.bqworks.com/. Also, please ask the other users to load the images, so I can see the problem myself.

Hi David, we just solved it finally thank you, It required to choose full image istead of medium size, it was on medium by default, thats why. Thank you very much

You’re welcome!

Author’s support system appears to be broken. All attempts to log a ticket returns a 403 error.

Hi,

I’ve just tested it and it worked. Also there were some tickets submitted in the past few hours. Please try again and let me know if you still experience any issue.

Last update is 26 October 2018??? Is this still reliable and functioning or has this been deserted?

It’s reliable, functioning, compatible with the latest WordPress version. Let me know if you have any question about it.

The video layer embed function seems to have some positioning issues with mobile devices. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi,

Did you notice this on the presentation examples or in your own implementation? If it’s your own implementation, it could be caused by external CSS. If you post a link, I could help.

Best, David

I noticed it on the presentation examples as well as my own implementation. I will contact you via support to give you a link as the website is in development.

Can you guys add or make a Masonry layout template – like Pinterest – thanks.

Hi,

That type of layout would be beyond the purpose of this slider.

Hello, I have pre-sale question. Is possible change color bullet and arrow when slider change a next(o prev) slider.For example slider1 bullet and arrow blue, slider two red ecc. ecc.

If you’re referring to having different bullet and arrow colors for different sliders, that’s possible and easy to do with CSS.

If you want to change the colors for a single sliders, when you navigate through the slides, that’s still possible but it might require some custom JavaScript as well.

I can help you in both cases if you need.

Hi there,

I am using the regular licence version of Slider Pro for the website I am developing and have been experiencing issues where the sliders seem to shift and produce a large band of white space on the bottom. This happens fairly consistently on the first pass through the slides while clicking the arrows. It doesn’t seem to happen on subsequent passes. You can see it occurring at https://allaboutgaragedoorsnc.com/staging/residential

From what I can tell, the div with class sp-mask and  sp-grab has an inline-style that is setting the height greater than the height of the slide. My client has noticed this issue and is asking that it be fixed. Can you provide a solution or work-around?

I tried submitting a ticket through bq-works, but kept receiving an error. Thank you for any help you can offer.

In order to maintain a certain aspect ratio (width/height ratio) for the slider, you can use the Aspect Ratio option. This is automatically calculated by the slider when you use fixed values for Width and Height, but when you use relative values, it can’t be calculated, so you need to define it manually. Your images have a ratio of 1024/580, which is approximately 1.77, so you should set Aspect Ratio to 1.77.

That worked! Fantastic! Thank you so much for your help. :)

You’re welcome! :)

Hi, when creating a post slider, is there anyway to change the [sp_link] to say ‘Read more’ which links to the post, instead of the post title as a link??

Hi,

Instead of [sp_link] you could use [sp_link_url], which returns only the URL, and use this in a manually created link: <a href="[sp_link_url]">Read mode</a>.

If you have problem with that, you can create a custom tag:

add_filter( 'sliderpro_posts_tags', 'add_custom_link' );

// add the 'custom_link' tag to the list of supported tags
function add_custom_link( $tags ) {
    // associate the 'custom_link' tag with the function that will render the tag
    $tags['custom_link'] = 'render_custom_link';

    return $tags;
}

function render_custom_link( $tag_arg, $post ) {
    return "<a href="" . get_permalink( $post->ID ) . "">Read more</a>";
}

The shortcode will be [sp_custom_link].
