Hello,

Maybe you will need similar solution in the future. I know that I needed such plugin for many projects, and I always had a code to use when needed. But, it is a good thing to have it in plugin form, easy to use.

I, this plugin works in godaddy server’s?

Tanks Carlos

Hi,

I have no idea. I have tested plugin with servers I had access too (HostGator, JustHost, BlueHost, MediaTemple) and with all of them it can use servers own SMPT servers, and works well with external Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook.

12 bucks? What is different about this than the excellent free plugins in the WP repository?

Hi! do this plugin works with WooCommerce, BuddyPress and Contact Form 7? Any known issue?

No issues that I know of. Plugin hooks into WordPress to control SMTP settings, so it is not dependent on the plugin you might use.

replying time very appreciated. I’ll buy. Thanks

Thanks!

Hi GDragoN,

Does this plugin support SSL?

Would you provide technical support after the purchase?

Thank you

Charles

Yes, plugin supports use of SMTP over SSL, but you server needs to have proper PHP extension installed (usually is). Plugin is very easy to use, but if you have any problems, you can use support forums.

Hi,

I just bought the plugin, test email sent successfully, but not received the email.

Could you please help me setting up the plugin?

Thank you

Charles

Plugin test only confirms that SMTP info you used is OK, and that it can connect and send email through that SMTP. And if that is OK, than plugin is fully configured, there is nothing else to configure or change.

Why email has not arrived is not related to the plugin and it can be one of these (usually):

1. If you send email test to same email used for SMTP it is possible that your SMTP automatically ignores it. Try sending to some other email.

2. Maybe email ended in spam for some reason, check spam/junk folders for you email.

Since email is sent (well, SMTP returned OK, plugin can’t confirm what SMTP does with the message after that), check your server mail logs for clue to what has happened to that email.

Hello,

I just ran the test email after configuring the plugin using the Gmail option. The test failed and then shortly after, I received an email from Google stating “Sign-in attempt prevented from an app that does not meet modern security standards”.

Please see email screenshot here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3844293/smtp-plugin-error.jpg

Thanks for your help on this.

I have never seen such message, but I have search a bit on that, and it turns out this is new Gmail security feature. You can read more about it here, including how to allow such SMTP login: http://www.wpsitecare.com/gmail-smtp-settings/

As I said, this is new measure, and not everyone is getting it (I use this plugin with my GMail account, and I have so far not seen this message).

Milan

Interesting. Thanks Milan for looking into this and getting back with me. I guess I’ll decide on wether to use the “less secure apps” setting in Google or to change to a custom SMTP server.

Thanks again

I will add notice about this in next plugin version, but there is nothing it can be done other than that.

It can be used for namecheap?

I don’t understand exactly. But if you have SMTP server host with accout authentication, it will work with any SMTP for as long as your hosting company doesn’t have some very limiting restriction, but I have never seen something like that.
