hi how can i add custom fields

Heya,

I’m afraid guiding on how to add custom fields is out of the scope of support for Envato. If you look at how we’re adding fields and and registering them in php & js files you should be able to do this.

Thanks, Jigowatt.

I bought your contact. I don’t need subject. How to removed subject. Pleased help. Thanks

Heya,

If you look in the contact_form.php file you should notice that the phone number field is commented out as well as the code for the php for this. Repeat this for the subject field and it’ll be removed.

Thanks, Jigowatt.

I want to redirect to a thankyoupage but it gives me an error

Heya,

Unfortunately this isn’t something we can do under the limits of Envato support but this Stack Overflow thread does show you how too do it.

Hi

How do I setup SMTP for this form? As of now its using PHPmail and all the emails are going to Junk folder.

Regards Yogi

Heya,

I’m afraid the PHP mail function doesn’t currently support SMTP.

The best way to do it would be using PHP Mailer: https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer but this isn’t something we can help with as it would be outside the realms of support on here.

Thanks, Jigowatt.

I’m having a hard time removing the “Subject” like for this form – I got the actual line and input box removed but the script is still requiring that the person fills in a subject so I can’t test the form properly.

Removed

I tried to edit the form and remove the subject line like you explained the other user to do – just comment the line out like I commented the lines in when I included the phone number, however, when I comment the line out for subject the form just breaks

if(trim($subject) == '') { $error = '<div class="error_message">Attention! Please enter a subject.</div>';

If I remove that the form breaks and I think that’s the line that’s giving me an error when I try to send the form.

Heya,

Providing you take out the field and any code that related to it (validation ect) it should come out without any issues.

Thanks, Jigowatt.

Hi,

I’ve just implemented your form and am having trouble with changing the ‘from’ to $name. I’m using:

if(mail($address, $e_subject, $msg, “From: $email\r\nReply-To: $email\r\nReturn-Path: $email\r\n”, “-r $address”))

It’s showing up as the sender’s name, but as the first part of their email ONLY. e.g. joetest@bloggs.com = From: joetest

Is there any quick way of changing this code over so that we can have the $name show in the from field?

Cheers.

Tyler
