Does this application allow to block access to certain methods and pages? If so how and where do you assign that level of protection from? It cant be seen clearly on the screenshots.

Yes. Access to the page is from the methods . By default no page is accessible to a user unless you are SysAdmin. So to allow access to a page you create a role and you give it access this page via this method. The execution of a method or page is centralized by custom authorisation filter named RBACAttribute inherited from the AuthorizeAttribute. To restrict acces to a page you can write this above the method. Also to restrict access all controller methods you can put it above the controller name. [RBAC] public ActionResult Create() { return View(); }

Hmm but can you restrict the access from the admin page? Do you have to go into the source code?

Hi, Thank you for your purchasing. Yes, you can restrict access to an administration page. No need to go to access source code after the application has been deployed. Access to pages is through the roles . By default no page is available to standard users. So when you create your admin page and you give access to this page for the Administrator role or another role depending on your needs.

Hi can you please tell me what EF approach you used? I would prefer a Code First approach.

Excuse me. In this application I use Database First approach. However we can also use the Code First approach to the same result. And you will use Code First Migrations in EF to seed the database with admin data.

we need a platform that will connect to a central aspnet security database. allow us to load multiple applications in this 1 database (it is already set up this way and working) allow us to create roles per application allow us to create users per application aswell as all other user functions (reset password, change password, email user password, view details, assign user to roles, unlock user and deactivate user)

does your app do this?

note the aspnet Usermanagement. not custom tables

Yes. This system has been designed and works for an application . But it could be adapted to do what you ask. By creating a T_APPLICATION table (App_Id , AppName , etc.) and add App_Id field in RBAC tables as foreign key. And after you can manage users, roles, permissions and access by applications.

Hello, we have an ASP MVC 4.52 web app, and want to purchase a user role management GUI with controls for adding, users, roles, permissions.

Does the component support the following.

Adding, Users, Roles, Permissions×717.jpg

  1. In the Web Gui for admin role, does the application list/show all the controllers and actions inside the controller?
  2. When I add the permission for a role, does it let me add or map the User Role to the Controllers and Actions.
  3. Does implement hte security and authentication correctly, if the user does not have a role, will the roles prevent user from typing the path to the controller/action (route) to the action.
  4. Can I also manage multiple companies/groups (multi-tenancy) inside my applicaiton – for e.g. Company A has Manager, and workers – Company B manager should NOT be able to see company A employees

Hi any response please?

The demo is not working, even the admin page is not showing the -page/view for roles or permissions management.

thanks in advance

Hi, thanks you. This component supports Adding, Users, Roles, Permissions. You can create user and manage the user. you can also create roles and assign it to a user. The permission is based on the controllers

1- The component can generate all permissions based on controller and action. Or you can create the permission manually (like this : ControllerName – ActionName) 2- When you add the permission to a role, you have to assign to user to this role. 3 – The component implements the security and authentication properly . Before having access to the application you must be authenticated. unauthenticated users are redirected to login form . if an authenticated user want to access a page , the roles to which it is associated should have permissions. Otherwise it will have the message “Access denied” . 4- This component is not made to handle multiple companies. but you can adapt it to achieve what you want to do. The demo is working, you can copy the url and paste it in new tab of your browser.

Thank you.

Hi Medomeda& I like your GUI for user/role administration, I need a GUI user/role solution of ASP MVC 4.6 web app with razor?

  1. In your GUI can I create a role and manage? which ASP MVC, Controller Actions are allowed for which ROLE,  and can I add those Controller->Action permissions without going inside the source code. i.e. can I do this from inside the GUI?

  2. Does this update the menu items, depending on which user role is logged-in?

  3. Where are these maintained, XML or database?

  4. Does it use Entity Framework, User Identity 2.2.1

Hi gothgirl,

1- After the deploiement of application. You can create a user, a role and manage it. And which ASP MVC, Controller Actions are allowed for which ROLE, and you can add those Controller->Action permissions without going inside the source code. i.e. you can do this from inside the application. Notice all the permissions are based on controller and action of your project. 2- Of course the menu items, depending on which user role is logged-in. But You can not add new menu items after the deploiement of application 3 – They are maintained in database. 4 -This component uses the Entity Framework , and a custom class to manage Users, roles and permissions

Thank you.

Appreciate the answers, so this is not Identity 2.2.1, but your own custom implementation, correct?

I am utilize ASP MVC Identity 2.2.1 today in my app, what would steps would I need to do to migrate to your component.

Does this work with claims based, and how will that impact my application/code, do I need to change anything. I am trying to see how what code to change and make my app work

Hola Medomeda, I think your solution might work for me too, if I can manage the account in the GUI – is this correct.

Is there an update coming, what else will you provide in managing the controllers and actions in the GUI. I saw your comment on the companies I would like to buy if that option is there.

When I log in to the URL it is not showing, par favor please tell me me which page … is something missing, for page or view for the controller and actions.

Does it automatically scan the dll and list all the controllers and actions? Please explain which all controllers and actions, and do I need to manually add each one, or is this auto matico?

When we make changes will it save it in the database.

Is it compatible, for e.g. I update EF or User Identity with nuget, will it break?

What are its dependencies, needed.

If I buy, I want to know you will maintain and support with new updates in the GUI.

Does it show the log, for each user and their login times, failed logins?

Hello, I really need to let smaller groups like company’s and their groups manage them, but not others a scenario would be admin/managers from one company should not manage other company’s employees, but their own.

Is this based on and compatible with ASP MVC Identity Ver 2.1 will nuget updates fail the software if I update with Nuget (will you help us with the nuget update, so we can preserve the functionality from your component)

Reading your notes and comments it helps me understand.

1) Are the permissions, actions and controller mapping stored inside the database. How would I go about checking or editing those outside the GUI

2) Do I need to change any code, for e.g. do I need add the name of the role in the [Authorize] section before the action or controller.

3) Will this work with the winhost or smartASP

4) Are you adding any new features.

5) Will this also work with ASP MVC 6 RC 2.0, what I need to know is if you have any upgrade path, if we buy into your product.

6) Does this support anti-spam and google recaptca

7) Does it show me the user audits, like when all he tried to login

8) Can I lock out a user from a role, or verify SMS enable

I see a lot of promise in this component :)

thank you.

Hello, any response, looking to buy ASAP, is it compatible with ASP MVC Identity Ver 2.1 and does it have the code snippets to check user roles, add user roles or new roles etc. If you can let me know about the previous questions… that would be helpful

Did you get response is it working, I want to buy please let me know

Your demo no longer work

Hi, I correct some errors in the code. It’s works now. You can try

Congratulations! Amazing Work, GLWS :)

Can I access to all codes of this project? (I don’t want to have some obfuscated code)

Hi karimpazoki, All the codes are in the download files. If it is not, notify me by email and I will send it to you.
Thank you

Hi medomeda. I have two problem. Is it possible to set password for users?(I can’t find it). and the second one is I have problem to assign permission to role. The server function has some error.

Hi karimpazoki,
1) It is not possible to set a password for users already created. The password is set when the user is created. Use this link to create a user (/ Account / Register).
2) There is no server error in assigning role permissions. To do it, put the role in edit mode (eg: /Admin/RoleEdit/19) and choose a permission from the drop-down list below and click “Add Permission” to assign the selected permission to this role. You can also click on “Add All Permissions” button to assign all permissions to this role. You can test all this in the online demo.

Thank You

Hi, Why I get this error: Erreur. Une erreur s’est produite lors du traitement de la requête.

Hi, The error occurs on which url? Give all the details.

I login as admin but the “System Administation” is not showing in in the menu. It look like it cannot find the user ‘admin’. If I understand, the system is looking the user ‘admin’ under Active Directory? How to disable this and use the Database table as the main Table? Thanks

Hi, There are no connection problems with the admin user. And the “System administration” menu appears well when you are logged on with admin. No, the system not looking for any user in Active Directory. All users of this demo are created in the database… Please try again…

Hi, Is this plugin able to upgrade to MVC 5 or ASP.Net Core 2.0? actually I plan to start a new project from there.

Thank you for your interest in my project. I have not planned yet an upgrade to MVC5 or ASP.Net Core 2.0? But this program works like a plugin that can easily be integrated into all projects. And depending on the specificities you will make apdatations.

Thank you
