Please tell me when you guys are going to fix the compatibility issue with IE7, IE8 and IE9. We can’t see the invoice content and the Pay button in those browsers. Thank you.
As we’ve told you via email, we are working on it. There is no need to constantly email AND comment here. Posting here won’t make things go any quicker so please be patient.
Does the user have a client area so they can log in and view invoices?
There isn’t a specific user login as such, however anyone who receives an invoice gets a specific url where they can view the invoice and can see it forever. It updates live as well so they’ll see the status such as ‘PAID’ or ‘PAST DUE’ and they can download to PDF.
Hope that helps,
Hi can I check – can the system automatically create/send emails based on weekly/monthly dates?
Unfortunately no, there is no system in place to send emails on specific dates. You can trigger emails for new invoices/quotes as well as reminder emails when the invoice goes past due but there is currently no way of automatically sending weekly/monthly emails.
thank you for the fast reply.
It looks like a great project and for an amazing price.
Few questions before I purchase it:
1. Is it possible to enable both stripe and PayPal gateway payment methods?
2. Is stripe included, or does it costs extra?
1. You can currently choose between Stripe or Paypal, not both. Good idea though, might have to think about doing that!
2. Stripe integration is included. You’ll need to setup your own free account with Stripe, same way with Paypal. Everything else is taken care of by Quip Invoices.
Will you consider intergrating iwth woo so all payments and invoices and purchases through woo will record in this system too? other wise will need to double entry to get accounts correct
Sorry but there is no planned integration with WooCommerce right now. Maybe in the future but it won’t be for a long time. Sorry about that.
thanks for easy to use the product.
1 problem occurred. I can’t get the pay button on a phone.
Is the issue the button is hidden on mobile? We have had reports of users having to scroll sideways to see the pay button on certain mobile phones. We’ll look into a fix for this. If that is not the issue, please send full details to email@example.com for more support.
wondering when you will be updating and what your plans are for updates? and is https://codecanyon.net/item/quip-support-ultimate-help-desk-solution/15641176?s_rank=1 compatible this the invoice plugin?
There are updates planned yes, however the pace of development has certainly slowed down recently due to various reasons. We do have lots of quality of life improvements planned in the coming weeks and after that some new features but I can’t give a date just now.
As for Quip Support, yes these plugins will work together with no problems.
Firstly a great product for ease of use. I for one love how it is not tied in with the user and that rigmarole…
Just a couple of questions before purchase.
1) Is there a way you could make the line items in quotes and invoices a separate entity? A bit like payments, but we can set them up and choose from drop down?
Not a big deal if not just saves trying to remember what you called things…
2) Can you add a save to PDF option? I know when I click view I can print and save as PDF, but would be a great feature.
3) When we send a quote or invoice to a client do they receive it in the email or as a link?
4) Do you have search feature to clients, quotes, invoices and payment lists?
5) Do you plan on including CVS features. Download and view/print of the lists in point 4? Just in case the Wordpress breaks..
6) Do you have a Newsletter plugin that would work with this to give it a full stack of features.?
I am sorry for all these, but just want to know where it stands and where it’s going as I have been looking at everyone and quite like this..
1) It’s not currently done that way. Basically if you create a quote you can then just convert it to an invoice with one click but it’s the same line items.
2) Like you mentioned, the way to do this is to use the print option and then save as PDF. We’ve been asked a lot about this and adding the code to save as a PDF doubles the size of the plugin. Still, lots of people seem to want it so maybe it will get added in a future update.
3) They receive an email with a link to the quote or invoice
4) No, not yet but, we added a search feature to Quip Support and have used the same code in our development builds for Quip Invoices so this feature will be added in a future update.
5) Quip Invoices already has the ability to download all the data from the plugin (payments, quotes, invoices, clients) to CSV files.
6) No unfortunately no newsletter plugin yet. Nice idea though, perhaps a future product idea!
Thanks for the quick response! I suppose I can live with the PDF and line items. Great price really and simple to use I guess. Search feature would be awesome.
Just one more question/feature perhaps. Is there a way of linking quotes/invoices and possibly payments to a client? Would be fantastic to see all the items linked to a client rather than searching each section for what you are looking for.
Oh and one more (sorry), maybe a dedicated notes section too, so that you can see at a glance a history of what others may have said/done for a client.
I am now off to play with the demo some more to see if I can use the current features in more depth.
If you look at the client details you’ll see all of their related invoices linked plus their outstanding and paid amounts.
Holy Cr*p you are right. I most have chosen to look at the only client in there without the stuff showing…. GREAT NEWS! Deffo worth a look now.
OK so I am chancing my luck here. Do future features include an option to mark a quote as “Accepted”, “Declined”, “Expired”, “Cancelled”?
I just looked at the support app and notice you had a dashboard. Is there one on the cards for invoices? invoices outstanding, quotes etc? Would be great to see what needs attention when you log in in the mornings.
Off to have a look around the demo again. FANTASTIC quick response btw.
Haha glad you like the plugin!
We don’t have anything regarding statuses for Quotes, I can add it to the backlog however we usually rank the feature requests by the number of people who ask for them and this is the first time we’ve been asked so it’s not likely to go in any time soon.
No dashboard like the support app here unfortunately. I think there are a lot of cool features in each of the plugins that we could cross over to each of them and it’s definitely something being looked at.
Anyway, glad to help!
I can wish eh! I am sure now they are here others will ask for them
Sorry to be such a pain. Having looked at the plugin further I have noticed that the invoices show in the clients space, but the quotes do not. Does it /can it be done?
Also with regards to save to PDF. It cannot be save on an iPad/iPhone as the system doesn’t offer PDF from print screen. Hope this convinces the inclusion of it
PS: I forgot to thank you for the quick responses last time, so thanks!
No, currently it’s just the invoices that show on the client details page. We can add quotes there too at some point as well yes.
One more point towards the PDF option then!
Could you give an estimate of when and what you think may make it in from my suggestions? I know it’s a pain, but I want to make the right choice of which to buy.
Yes it is $26 and it isn’t a lot of money for the right one, but if I spent this amount on 2 plugins before finding the right one for my needs then it adds up (it’s not about the money really, it’s about finding the right one for the money)...
Sorry I’m afraid we can’t make promises on when certain updates might go in. If you’re having trouble deciding, I’d recommend looking at the plugin as it is today and making your decision based on those features only. Then you can see updates as a nice bonus when they happen
That is what I will have too. I was hoping it you could have made it easier. For example if you would have said we would do x,y,z in the next 6 months or sorry but we will not be adding those features it would have made it easier.
The other script I am looking at is $60 but has everything but it is not a wordpress plugin just php. This is oh so close with a couple of tweaks…
I guess I will have to have a good think over the weekend..
Again! Thanks for the fast reply
I would like to have my clients access their invoice data from our member area. I would like the invoice to look like the paper invoices we mail out. We have 7 fields for each item we sell: Line#, Order#, Shipped Qty, Part Number, Description, Unit Price and Extend Price. does this sound like something your program can accomplish? Thanks
I’m afraid not, sorry about that!
A couple of quick Q’s before I commit, but is it possible to alter the columns shown on the invoice? Be it the order of the columns, or adding/removing columns?
And… I use Square instead of Stripe (Stripe wasn’t available in Canada at the time I needed something like it), so I would like to know if setting up a Square payment method is possible?
I’m afraid not sorry, the columns are set in the order you see in the demo.
Also we currently support Stripe and Paypal for payments, not Square. There are no plans to add other payment types at the moment.
PRE-SALE Q: I have read that the plugin supports multiple users/vendors. My question is: can I create with this plugin a multi-user invoicing system? I mean that I give a certain id & pw to a certain user X and he can manage exclusively his invoices and clients, which are invisible by the user Y, Z and so on… thank you
No sorry, unfortunately the plugin does not work the way you describe. If you’d like to see it in more detail you can check out the demo using the button above or go to http://invoicingplugin.com
invoicing what? and billing what? and paying for what? this is interesting solution but how clients place orders? so admin can invoice them, how clients can use the system? is the any fronend form to be used to fill any order and check how this sytem works, right now if it is only work in admin side this would be useless,
This is a general invoicing system so you would create line items and clients in the system and send over invoices to people. They can pay directly with their credit card.
There is no need for front-end forms as this is designed to be a system that a small business owner uses to send out and manage invoices.
I want to set the tax rate to a default of 20% and not have to enter it each time. Additionally, with the default tax rate set, we enter the individual line item price including the tax but the tax calculation is shown as a separate total in the sub-total area. At the moment there is no option to set a default or enter a line item price with the tax assumed to be included.. where can I customise this within the plugin files?
If you don’t want tax to be included at the end simply set it to 0 (it defaults to 0 anyway) so it won’t add tax on. The plugin is flexible enough for you to add tax at the line item level or globally across the entire plugin.
On the line items just set the adjustment % to the tax rate you wish to include on that line item and the plugin will calculate the final price. This is how the majority of businesses we have spoken to do their invoicing so it works for most people.
I’m getting the following error when I try to activate the plugin. Any suggestions, Please help.
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/extrusio/public_html/wp-content/plugins/codecanyon-11996217-quip-invoices-fully-featured-wordpress-invoicing/quip-invoices.php on line 630
Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the plugin. The issue looks related to Stripe and the Stripe keys you have set. Can you double check you have set the keys to the correct values and that there are no invalid characters in there.
The other thing it could be is your web server might not have the minimum required software installed. We’ve found that if people are having issues it is usually because they are missing the ‘mbstring’ and ‘curl’ extensions from their PHP installation on the server so please also check that.
Can the plug in be activated if I don’t have SSL on my server.
Yes you can activate the plugin without SSL. If you’d like to use Stripe for payments though you must have SSL installed. This is enforced by Stripe, not the plugin.
If you are having issues please send full details of your server details to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can take a look.
Pre sale question: Does QuipCode handle multiple currencies? We invoice Canadian clients in Canadian dollar, and American client in US dollar. Is this possible?
Yes we currently support 5 currencies including the US dollar and Canadian dollar.
When changing currency options in payments, does this change all other current invoices currency as well?
Is there any way to set up reoccurring payments?
The currency option is like a global display yes, so it will change the currency throughout your invoices past and new ones.
No recurring payments right now, it’s a requested feature that’s high up on the list though so should make it in a future update.
Dang. This will not work for me. My bad for not asking before purchase I guess…
The previous Q/A the fellow asked the same question, and you said ‘Yes’! Might want to edit this for clarity
Perhaps a fix could be to install the plug in twice, one for each currency?
The previous Q/A is correct, we do support multiple currencies. However you can’t mix currencies so different invoices are in different invoices.
Installing the plugin twice won’t work I’m afraid as WordPress requires a unique class name for the plugin so you’d run into conflicts. It could be done with a bit of tweaking the code but you’d need to hire a PHP developer to do it if you’re not comfortable editing the code.
He actually states, “We invoice Canadian clients in Canadian dollar, AND American clients in US dollar. Is this possible?” The answer to that question would be “No, it’s not possible. You are able to use US OR CND only!”
Not trying to split hairs but that is false information, and misleading.
Sure… I guess that’s your interpretation which is different than ours.
Instead of getting upset and posting lots of comments here, if the product isn’t good for you please go ahead and click the ‘Request Refund’ button and we will sort it out for you.
I setup myself as a company and tried to email myself an invoice but I do not get the email with the invoice I sent to myself. Can you please let me know what could be the problem.
It would be nice to add the capability to turn the invoice to a PFD so I can email to client directly.
Not receiving email could be any number of things and very difficult to diagnose remotely. I can tell you that the plugin simply uses the built in WordPress email system and this is working for many people so 99% of the time the issue is found in your web server configuration.
The email may be in your spam folder, or it may not have even sent due to your web server not having an email service like sendmail or postfix installed. If you’re not sure how to check I suggest getting in touch with your web hosting provider.
PDF is a requested featured and one we’re looking into. For the time being you are able to create PDFs from the invoices because we included a special print stylesheet. If you use your browser to print the invoice when viewing it, you should have an option to “Save to PDF” as well. You can then use this PDF to email the client yourself.
