I am trying to add the shortcode created by the Contact Form 7 plugin, but it keeps disappearing. After I save it and refresh the site, the contact form shows up, but the area where I added the code as disappeared. Is there a different way I am supposed to implement the shortcodes?
please update the plugin, it is a known issue: http://www.pixedelic.com/pixgridder_current_version_changelog.php
You only have to enter your license code (if you are a purchaser of Shortcodelic or Geode use the license code of your product) as described in the documentation and you’ll receive the automatic update in a while.
my pixgridder started to behave funny about a month ago when I try to align the content in the first two adjacent fields the other chnges the distance to the top and vice versa. I could show it better with sending a picture. Please let me know where I can send it to.
Hello Thomas, please contact me at manu[at]pixedelic.com
Hello, I just upgraded from PixGridder to PixGridder Pro for one very specific reason. I like to use a combination of Sections and Rows on my site. I want to adjust the parallax with the background image in a Section. When I added PixGridder Pro I saw that the Section function disappeared and became only rows – thus removing the ability to add a background image.
You indicate that it’s an intuitive interface. I don’t have CSS knowledge. Do I need to to make this work as I would like it to?
first of all make sure to disable PixGridder free, otherwise that generates a conflict.
Then, I’m not sure to understand what the section function is… could you provide some screenshots to clarify please?
I’ve deactivated PixGridder free.
Here you can see that with PixGridder free there is a choice between “rows” and sections>
Here I’ve selected a background image for my section:
When I disable the free version and go Pro, I can only have rows, thus removing the option for a background image for that part of the page:
I would like to be able to have more control over the image in the background of the section. Right now, there is a parallax effect that is causing the image to display incorrectly. I purchased Pro because it indicated I could have more control over these settings.
Here you can see how the parallax makes the image display:
I’ve adjusted the size of my browser window to show how the image should display, regardless of window size:
How do I:
1. create sections with PixGridder Pro?
2. adjust the parallax/styling options of sections background images with PixGridder Pro?
I’m sorry, but I think you are using a version of PixGridder free changed by someone: my plugin doesn’t have nor the section select box neither the gear icon after it. Maybe the plugin was included in the theme you installed, or the theme itself added some filters to edit it, I don’t know. You should contact the theme author maybe. Was PixGridder included in the theme when you installed it?
Hello Manuel, I have the Pro version and most recent version as well (along with Shortcodelic) and can not find any solutions to my issue, I made a video tutorial to show what I am running into. I host my videos with Wistia.com which is a comptetitor of Vimeo, so they funtion similarly regarding embeds. I have no problems embedding my Wistia videos on my Wordpress site when PixGridder is off, but when I use PG the embeds don’t work and I have tested several formats. Please watch my video to see the issue in detail, I am at a standstill.
I am on a Mac (10.10.5) with most current versions of WP, PixGridder, Shortcodelic, and Chrome.
Thank you, Dan
Hello, sorry for the issue, I’m trying to replicate it but I’m not able to use the embed code at all. I tried with this:
But I’m not able to see anything else than the link text, also tried without PixGridder and Shortcodelic and Twenty-Fifteen as theme. In the screenshot the first video is displayed by using the entire iframe code and, below that, there is the link text:
And by reading the Wistia documentation, I see oembed urls work with Wordpress.com not Wordpress.org: http://wistia.com/doc/wordpress#embedding_on_wordpresscom is that correct?
To use them with Wordpress.org you should enter a script http://wistia.com/doc/wordpress#embedding_on_wordpressorg
Is that correct? Sorry, it is the first time I read about Wistia.
Thanks for the info. I actually don’t use the oEmbeds on my site, I used it in PixGridder because that was the only way that I could at least see the video thumbnails in the ‘Builder”. So I guess the main issue/question is, how in the world can I add the “full iframe” embed code to my PixGridder page so that the videos work as needed? If I add the full embed code with I save the page it just strips the entire code like it was never there. Thanks!
Sorry, why don’t you use the iframe code?
Actually I can’t see the video in the builder neither with the iframe nor with the oEmbed link, but the iframe allows me to display the video on the front end, while the builder shows a placeholder… I’m testing it on a basic installation, so maybe you have a plugin installed that extends oEmbed features?
Wistia has a plugin that allows oembeds to work (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wistia-wordpress-oembed-plugin/) BUT I am still wondering why the PixGridder strips the iframe embed code? This is my main question. If I turn off PixGridder I can use iframes in Wordpress without issue. Please help.
Soooooo… I found an accidental solution. This is very very strange. I edited my page, I check the box to DISABLE the Grid Builder (I didn’t check the Remove Trace box), I then went through the Text view and added the full iframe embed codes where they belonged and they worked. So for the heck of it, I then UNCHECKED the Disable box and BAM! It turned the Grid Builder back on and kept all my embeds codes intact just like I wanted it! So, I am happy with it but wanted to let you know that very strange workaround. My page is not ready to be public, otherwise I would share the link. Thanks again. Dan
Wow, thank you for letting men know
Hi, I’m using your fantastic PixGridder Pro (3.3.3.p) in a theme called “Geode” – your plugin was included. I just wanna know if it’s possible ti use the plugin outside the “page”, in “portfolio” or “post”. It’s possible to? There is a way to simple activate the plugin for others than pages?
Thank you and best regards,
yes it is but not recommended: if you use the page builder for posts and you decide to display post content instead excerpts on post archives this will break the layout. So, if you want to use the page builder for posts and portfolio items remember to avoid post content always on archive pages. I’m not responsible of issues deriving from this change.
To enable posts and portfolio items put the snippet below in “wp-content / geode-includes / includes.php” or in the file “functions.php” of a child theme:
update_option("pixgridder_post_type", array('post' => 'post', 'page' => 'page', 'team' => 'team'));
Let me know. Manuel
Thanks Manuel, at the end of the day I did not need it
Hi Manuel, there is a way to change the slug for Portfolio and its categories and tags? Where is the Portfolio post type defined?
Hello, post types are defined in Shortcodelic Addos plugin. Maybe you can change them if you are an expert of htaccess (I’m not, sorry) or looking among the 3rd party plugins. I don’t know about a different way to change a custom post type slug honestly.
BTW: did you contact me on Facebook? I’m pretty sure I saw a notification but I can’t find the message anywhere. Am I wrong? In this case sorry, my bad.
Yes I contacted you. Nothing important ????
I changed permalinks by simply adding ‘rewrite’ => array(‘slug’ => ‘travel’)
Sorry, where did you add it?
plugins » shortcodelic-addons » lib » functions.php » register_portfolio( ) » $args » ‘rewrite’ => array(‘slug’ => ‘travel’) for portfolio
register_taxonomy(‘portfolio_category’) » ‘rewrite’ => array(‘hierarchical’ => true, ‘slug’ => ‘travel-category’ ) for category of portfolio… and the same for tags
“travel” is my new slug of course.
I wrote you on facebook to show you my others customizations, if you have time take a look please
Oh, ok, but the idea is to modify the slug without changing the original code. I’m sorry, I could provide that solution, but it isn’t a good practice, since you will lose your changes after each update.
Yes I know Manuel, but I need it now!! Thanks again.
By the way, how can I disable updates?
Just remove the license code both from the theme and from the plugin option panels.
PixGridder keeps duplicating it’s columns inside of a row randomly. this has happened multiple times on multiple browsers, and we have even switched to the free version to see if it was an issue across the plugins.
It has gotten so bad that I have had to nuke entire pages and rebuild them in order to get it back to normal.
Is there a known conflict with existing plugins or theme settings that would cause this issue?
as far as I know this is the first time someone reports this kind of issue. What version of PixGridder are you running, and Wordpress version?
Wordpress 4.4.2, and PixGridder 2.0.6. However, this is happening on multiple sites. I purchased the pro version for a WP site hoping it would fix this issue but it hasn’t.
Since the websites I have this issue with are hosted locally on one of our internal servers, I was wondering if there is a setting that our servers can have which would affect the functionality of this plugin.
The issue comes up and ends periodically. the only way around it is to keep removing the duplicated rows and columns and updating the page, this has one of three out comes, 1. everything is back to normal, 2. all content on the page is lost. or 3. content on the page is duplicated but no trace of the html code for the content, rows or columns are in the edit page/builder. most recently this happened and i got the page back to normal only to find that when viewing the page outside of the WordPress back end all duplicated content was still showing.
Sorry, I can’t support PixGridder free anymore, so I meant what version of PixGridder Pro you are running please.
PixGridder 2.0.6 is the paid version, that’s the one I have on the WP site. Is this incorrect? Am I running the wrong plugin?
I was just letting you know that we have the paid version and the free version for multiple sites and I have this issue across all the sites, that’s the only reason I included that information.
Are you sure, since 2.0.6 is the last version available for the free version. I released PixGridder Pro 3.3.3.p, that’s the only version that works fine with WP 4.4.2, so please check and let me know.
Well huh, okay so I’ve been running the free version on accident.
I’m not sure if the issue will persist with the paid version. We will see!
Okay new issue. I’ve installed PixGridder Pro and now the grid in the page view not showing up at all even though it’s registered. It hasn’t been disabled on the pages or anything.
Sorry, have you deactivated PixGridder free?
Yes I did. I figured out the problem, it was in the setting and the Default page was not clicked to have PixGridder apply to it.
Can’t get pixgridder to show up. Checked all plugins, conflicts. Nothing.
never mind. got it.
Hi, is there a way to un-register a license so I can activate on another domain? The original was installed on the development site but now the site has gone live, I need to register it there.
Hello Andy and sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately the only way is to comunicate it to me. However you have up to 5 domains available. If you want to remove one of them (or more) just let me know which of them.
Hi, had no problem with the trial version of pixgridder, purchased the pro version and each time I install, I get this:
Warning: POST Content-Length of 14959395 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0
So, your help is appreciated.
first I’m afraid you are trying to upload the wrong file, since from the message you pasted I see you are trying to upload a file of about 15MB but your server allows to upload 8MB only.
You should increase the upload limiti in this case, but there is another issue: you don’t have to upload the entire zip file you get on CodeCanyon. You have to unzip it since it contains different things (the documentation, Shortcodelic plugin etc.) and upload the file caled “pixgridder.zip” only, that is 2MB instead.
Ciao Manuel..sei Italiano no?
sono mezzo italiano e provo studiare italiano, ma molto difficile perche c’e no gente per parlare com me!
Di dove sei?..
Ok, so pixgridder zip is inside the folder…qualche minuto
a smaller file I found, but I’m getting another error message,
I am unable to change the upload size from my end, I have to contact the host
Ciao, sì italiano
What message did you get sorry?
The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
as I might have mentioned, I am unable to change any information on the server side and the php.ini file is not available to me
In this case I’m afraid you have to upload the unzipped file via FTP or contact your provider. Have you tried some solution like the ones suggested here? http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/
Thank you, yes, I actually looked into that last night, however none of the files mentioned are in place and creating a php.ini file…well do I just open NOTEPAD and save then rename it to php.ini? Sorry, this is not really your job to do, and not one I have any knowledge about
Just uploaded via FTP SUCCESSO!
we use PixGridder at work for one of our sites and just updated WordPress to version 4.6 (i think it was 4.1.4 before). That’s when PixGridder stopped working properly, content and grids are not showing up correctly in the editor. I believe an update for PixGridder is neccessary, could you please tell me if one is planned and when it can be expected?
c/o Vier für Texas GmbH & Co. KG
Hello, could you tell me before what version of PixGridder are you running? Since if you’re talking about PixGridder free, I’m sorry, I can’t support it anymore. If you are talking about PixGridder Pro, version 3.3.3.p doesn’t seem to have issues with WP 4.6
Hi Manuel, thanks for your answer! We actually have the pro version, though it’s currently at version 3.2.5, so i guess i have to update the plugin. Just have to check back with my team to find out who bought it in the first place, because it seems not to be registered with this account.

I left a comment yesterday and I am not sure where it went? Maybe I posted it wrong. Anyway, I purchased your plugin as a part of the Geode theme, and I cannot update to 3.3.4 for some reason. Because I can’t update, I can’t edit my pages! The whole interface on the back end of Wordpress is missing.
How do I fix this ASAP?
I’m having the same issue reported above and I just bought the plugin (an extra license). The pixgridder interface just disappeared and all my pixgridder pages are broken. Any ideas on the fix for this?
Hello, please make sure you’re running the latest version of PixGridder (3.3.4). Otherwise go to “PixGridder option panel -> Register” enter your license details and check for the update after a while.
