Does this work with nextgen 2.0? As they changed the plugin mayorly.

Eagerly Looking forward to hear from you

Best regards, BackuPs

So now you want me to test this on a live server or what is the next step todo? Dont you have a live testing bed/server setup somewhere?

I just want to know if i can update safely and have things working the way they use to work.

Please advice.

Best regards, BackuPs

I’m not asking you to do anything. I’m telling you that NextGen Gallery v2 is full of bugs and you shouldn’t upgrade.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you !! for this great friendly support !!

The plugin only works when placing images on the page or post with shortcode, not creating a gallery and changing the shortcode. So, any photo placed cannot be removed, all the images first placed on that page is cached. Once a photo is placed on the page, the photo can’t be removed from the photoshow. No control over the photos once the image are placed, no way to remove a photo from the photoshow. Not what we were expecting.

Yes, currently, PhotoShow only works with the older attached-images WP gallery creation method. An update in the works to bring the newer ad hoc gallery style to PhotoShow.

is it possible to make your plugin responsive?

Thank you!

If you’re willing to write a little custom JS, absolutely.

An instance of PhotoShow is saved as a property on the node to which it was applied. The original options are available on the instance object.

-- assuming --

-- then --
var $psNode = $('#target'); // cached jQuery selection
var psElement = $psNode.get(0); // the raw DOM node
var psOptions = psElement.photoShow.opts // the {...} passed in initially

Then you can make any changes you want to the options, delete the current instance from the node, and call PhotoShow again.

psOptions.controls = ['prev', 'thumbs', 'next'];
delete psElement.photoShow;
$psNode.photoShow( psOptions );

This way you have complete control over every setting at each breakpoint. If you need a good lib for JS media queries, you might want to try Enquire.js which is also available hosted.

Good Luck.

so this means you are not gonna make your plugin responsive given the fact that you just supply a do it yourselve solution?

I still think your plugin is one of the best small gallery viewers and easy to implement which there is on the market.

Pls consider adding the responsiveness.

sorry about that.

Best regards, BackuPs

I’m simply saying that PhotoShow isn’t, currently, responsive and if you don’t want to wait for me to add that feature, the simplest way to get it now is to do it yourself.

I have a short list of features I’d like to add to PhotoShow and making it responsive is absolutely on that list. I don’t know how long it will take me to get around to adding those features. That’s why I’m giving you the tools you need so you can do it yourself (without having to deconstruct my code) if you don’t want to wait.

Will this work on Wordpress 3.8 version?

7 months ago you wrote…

“An update in the works to bring the newer ad hoc gallery style to PhotoShow.”

any progress on that? 7 months is a very long time to create a update i must say.

Does it work with nextgen 2.0.40 they did their part and fixed all issues.

Best regards, BackuPs

In all honesty… 7 months ago I started working on the update but then life got in the way.

The good news is that your message reminded me that all that work was sitting unfinished. So I finished it. I’ve submitted an update to CodeCanyon that adds the following…

  • supports the newer, ad hoc, gallery system
    [photoshow ids="..."]
  • adds the ability to make a PhotoShow without having to edit the [gallery] shortcode (set the ‘theme’ on the ‘Edit Gallery’ screen)
    [gallery theme="photoshow" ids="..."]
  • adds partial support for NextGen Albums (it flattens the album into a single gallery – I was having trouble breaking them into multiple galleries and I didn’t want to delay this release any longer)
    [photoshow ngaid="1"]

Any existing [photoshow] shortcodes will continue to work.

You should receive an email once the update has been approved and is ready to download.

Let me know if you have any trouble with the update or have questions about the new features.

Hi Mike,

that is great news. Looking forward to it. Also responsive now?

Best regards, BackuPs

No. This release only updated WP Gallery and NextGen Gallery support and added the ‘theme’ option to the ‘Edit Gallery’ screen.

Should work with the attached images to post / page

PhotoShow works with images attached to the page [gallery theme="photoshow"] or [photoshow] and with images added in “Create Gallery” [gallery theme="photoshow" ids="1,2,3,4,5"] or [photoshow ids="1,2,3,4,5"] .

I have Blue Owl Creative’s Terra Theme installed for my WP. I had a bad experience with another author (R3dRidl3) who basically shifted his blame to my hosting service. Very unprofessional. Anyway, you think your plugin could work on my template before I buy it?

Best regards.

PhotoMosaic is built on top of Wordpress’ own built-in [gallery] shortcode and I’ve taken every precaution I can at keeping my integration safe and sane (I don’t want to break anyone else plugins). It’s super-rare that a theme has trouble with PhotoMosaic.

That said, it does happen. Regardless of who’s to blame, I’m always willing to take a look at the issue. If there’s something reasonable that PhotoMosaic can do to mitigate things… I’m happy to do it. The only place I can’t help is if the theme is causing the problem and there’s nothing PhotoMosaic can do to work around it.

I hope that answers your question.

Sorry. Another question. Can the pictures show a tittle for every single picture? I’m using it as a “showroom” substitute with different models. I need the model to show. Is it possible?

Not currently. The way PhotoMosaic is able to create a gallery with a smooth bottom edge makes adding captions that sit outside the image challenging. It’s a feature I’d like to add, and plan to add, but it doesn’t exist in the current version.

Hi, can you please tell me if you can add more than one gallery to a wordpress post/page and if so, how?

Simply place more than one [gallery theme=”photoshow”] shortcode or [photoshow] shortcode in a post/page.

For example:
[photoshow id="1"]
lorem ipsum dolor set amit
[photoshow id="2"]

... or …

[gallery theme="photoshow" ids="1,2,3,4,5"]
lorem ipsum dolor set amit
[gallery theme="photoshow" ids="6,7,8,9,10"]

If you aren’t running v1.3, you should upgrade (you can download the update on your Downloads page). v1.3 added the ability to make PhotoShows during the Create Gallery workflow. It makes placing multiple galleries in a post/page incredibly easy.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I cant install this plugin in my wordpress, can you please advise. Thank you. Dadi

Make sure you unZIP the file you download from CodeCanyon. There is another ZIP inside – that’s the file you upload to WP.
